Golden Tote Review Part 2 – May 2014

Lately I’ve been buying two Golden Totes each month – I know I have a Golden Tote/maxi problem. (Check out my other May tote review too!)

Also, I know there have been some requests for me to model the clothes instead of my dress form. I’m currently wearing a cast-boot due to a broken toe, and I’m in major need of some self- tanner, but if things improve by the time the June tote shows up we’ll see! 🙂

First up, the two items I picked out:

Easy Embroidered Maxi – Value $68

Usually by the time I write a Golden Tote review all the items I picked are sold out – but not this time! This dress is still available in size medium and large!

I normally don’t wear strapless dresses, but I loved the embroidery detailed bodice and the bright emerald green skirt on this dress! I also think it’s a piece I can easily dress up or down.

Classic Puella Maxi – Value $68

I got this dress in blue in my other tote, and in the other review I was complaining about the fabric being a little see through. (I think I figured out the perfect solution though – layering the two maxis! It gives me enough coverage so that I don’t have to wear a slip underneath, and I actually like the layered look!)

Priddy by Puella Swing Top – Value $50?

FYI – All Priddy by Puella items are made exclusively for the totes! I love the colors of this top and how soft it is – if I could change anything about it I’d make it slightly less tent-y. (But it will look great with fitted jeans).

Naked Zebra Shirt/Tunic/Dress? Value $60?

Judging from the swaps section, this surprise item came in a few different colors – and I feel like I lucked out getting it in black! It will either make a short dress (swimsuit cover up) for me, or a tunic.

Love Stitch White Cotton Maxi – Value $90

I love this dress! It’s lined, but even with the lining I think I’ll still need a slip underneath. I think it has a very flattering cut too. (I’m ignoring the fact that my husband told me it looked like I was wearing a bed sheet).

Paint Splatter Top – Value $40?

I’m not crazy about the color of this top with my skin tone, but I do love the detail braid!

Verdict: Unfortunately this tote was another success – which probably means my two-tote-a-month habit isn’t ending anytime soon! What do you think of the pieces? Were you happy with Golden Tote this month?
