GlossyBox Review & Coupon - February 2014 Box

My February 2014 GlossyBox arrived March 1st - given the short month it's not that bad, especially when you consider how delayed some of the January boxes were. (I hope everyone has received their January boxes by now!)

GlossyBox Review & Coupon - February 2014 First Look

The Subscription Box: GLOSSYBOX

The Cost: $21 a month (save more with 3-month, 6-month or annual subscription)

The Products: Deluxe and full size beauty products.

Check out all of my GlossyBox reviews and the list of the best beauty and makeup subscription boxes!

GlossyBox Review & Coupon - February 2014 Card

Each GlossyBox comes with a card detailing the items for the month.

GlossyBox Review & Coupon - February 2014 Nail Polish

Lauren B. Beauty Nail Couture Polish in City of Angels - FULL SIZE! Value $18

Pureology Serious Colour Care Multi-Tasking Hair Beautifier for Color-Treated Hair - 1 oz Value $3.50

This nail polish was one of the spoiler items for February, and I couldn't wait to get it in my hands! I love this semi-sheer pink shade, and it's 5-free and vegan friendly!

GlossyBox Review & Coupon - February 2014 Lip Gloss

Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom Tinted Lip Balm Tube – FULL SIZE! Value $9

Sumita Beauty Kala Color Intense Pencil - FULL SIZE Value $15

I already received this lip balm once before in my July Glossybox, but fortunately it was my favorite item from that box and I'm thrilled to have a new one! (I switched up my GlossyBox account to take advantage of a discount offer a few months ago, so I might not have received a duplicate item if I kept the same account. From looking at Instagram it seems like this is one of the items that varied box to box.)

GlossyBox Review & Coupon - February 2014 Puffy Eyes

Anatomicals Puffy The Eye Bag Slayer Wake Up Under Eye Patches - FULL SIZE! Value $11

I tried a different brand of under eye patches from Birchbox a while ago and didn't notice any difference, but I'll give these a try!

Verdict: I paid a little less than $21 for this box and received about $56.50 worth of beauty products. I love when GlossyBox includes UK brands I wouldn't be able to easily sample, so the Anatomicals and Figs & Rouge brands are a win for me. The nail polish is great too. The only thing I'm not overly excited about is the black eyeliner - and that's just because I already have so many eyeliners from subscription boxes!

What did you think of the February GlossyBox?

I LOVE the eyeliner but I can’t get it to sharpen – I’ve wasted big chunks of it trying to sharpen it in my 3 different sharpeners! At this point, I can’t even use it. Any advice?

1st impressions were that I would really like everything in this box, but I have to say that the Lauren B nail polish left a lot to be desired. I normally love the smell of nail polish but this one was just way too overpowering that it gave me a headache. Also, the polish does not go on smoothly, and even after several coats, the color did not turn out even. Not sure if it’s the color or the polish as a whole.

I do not like that it does not easily come off with polish remover. I tried to use a Q-tip soaked with remover to clean up the edges where I got some on my skin and it didn’t take off the paint.

That kinda makes me want to contact Glossybox, I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the polish

I was pretty excited about my first glossybox besides waiting to receive it until March 5th; however, I used the promo code BELLA to receive free lipstick, and they didn’t include it in my box. I contacted customer service about it, and they have been really rude about it saying that I did not use the promo code, and they cannot do anything about it while being very unapologetic. I don’t think I am going to get the box again just based on this treatment by customer service. Has this happened to anyone else?

I used the code and did receive the lipstick. I loved my fist Glossybox!! Sorry that you had such trouble. It seems like they could include your lipstick in your next box. It seems kinda crazy to argue whether you used the code of not. If you’re a new subscriber, they should provide you with the new subscriber perk if you request it even after the fact on the phone. Maybe try contacting them again. I’ve seen with some places, different CS agents resolve issues in different ways. Maybe talking to a different person will help? It’s worth a shot.

I actually did talk to two different CS agents: one through email and the other on the phone. It’s just such terrible customer service. Unfortunate.

Janet

That’s crappy you had that happen. It was my first box as well and is used the code and got the lipstick. The box was almost $100 value. I got my box March 1st and I was annoyed. I would have been really annoyed in your shoes!

I barely got mine yesterday and I am automatically hooked on the eyeliner! It’s so pigmented and doesn’t smear. I got the emote eyelash curler instead of the under eye treatment. I also love the pureology pray!

I just got my GB today and all products are great sizes and new to me.

I received the Lauren B, Beauty Nail coloure in City of Angels (love the color) am getting nails done on Sunday and will use this, Pureology colour care – I have used Pureology in the past and it isn’t a favorite line that I purchase, but I’m happy to try this, the Sumita eye liner – I didn’t try it yet but it looks really nice and I’ve yet to find a long wearing eye liner that doesn’t run off , a new item to me is OC8 professional mattifying gel – i’m not oily so i’m going to try this as a primer (it says to apply over moisturizer) and see how it works, I also got a Emite Makeup eyelash curler that says full size is $30.50 and it certainly is a full size. I don’t have a good eyelash curler,I got an Elf one on clearance at Target that honestly isn’t curling so happy to have this.

Once again, just opening the GB is a treat – that pink box just makes me feel special.

This was my first month with Glossybox and I got the same box that you did. I couldn’t be happier!! Just under $100 worth of items for $20? I subscribe to 5 other boxes, and this is by far the best value I’ve gotten from any of them so far!

Ella

Does anyone have any tips for getting the polish to go on without streaking? It’s such a lovely color but I can’t seem to master it!

Holly

I received my very first Glossybox today! I read the spoiler alerts about the lauren b. polish and Sumita eye pencil. I was most looking forward to the eye pencil and was sad to find it wasn’t in my box. Is it common for Glossybox to omit items?

I had a similar issue with my February box as well, one of the items that was suppose to be in the box wasn’t. And I contacted Glossybox and informed them about it and the Customer Service Representative was nice enough to ship me the item, and I received it within 10 business days. So I think you should give them a call

The spoiler items they reveal should be in every box, so you should have received both the nail polish and the eye pencil. I recommend reaching out to them and see if they can send you the eye liner.

Not a thrilling box for me this month, I think the lip product would gave been my favorite but instead I got a “mature” eye cream – I’m only 22 and I have a moisturizer so I’m pretty bummed. I’ll give Glossybox another month, maybe two, but if I continue feeling blah about the boxes I’ll just try a different one!

I love this box. This is the first and last box i’ll be getting at least for quite a while. I originally had this sent to my niece but since she is 16 I realized from the first two boxes she is too young for GB and had the last one sent to me. (she would be good for Ipsy maybe) I got a break on a subscription around Christmas time and it was about $40 for 3 boxes. Though if I did pay $21 for this box I would be happy. I got the exact same box Liz did. I didn’t realize that GB mixed it up and everyone doesn’t get the same thing. I love the nail polish (I’ve never spent $18 for nail polish!) and I color my hair and unfortunately I do wake up sometimes with puffy undereyes. I don’t use eyeliner but for some reason that seems to be a big thing with sub boxes. If I had a complaint, and I always find I do, there was no little silver foil cover on the lip balm but it didn’t look used and not too crazy about the application. GB does look like a great sub though, I would rather get GB for 6 months than ipsy for a year and I wasn’t happy with Blush Mystery box at all. I have March left of Popsugar Must Have and the resort box coming, unfortunately I think out of all the subs I’ve received I like Popsugar the best.

My 2nd of 3 boxes I won’t use. 🙁

Emily

I absolutely loved and can use everything in this last GB. Yes, the eyeliner is black, but it’s completely different than any other I’ve used. This is the best box I’ve received to date.

LizM

Well, not a good box for me. I only use liquid eyeliners and GB loves to send me pencils. I also don’t color my hair, so the Pureology spray is going to the swap pile (as is the eyeliner.) The Truffle therapy sample is so small. The only things that interest me are the under eye patches and the nail polish. It’s been awhile since GB has sent a box that has wowed me.

What a nice box, I would use the heck outta all of that!

I got the Ole Henricksen truth serum collagen booster instead of the lip balm and I am so excited to try it. It is full size and retails for $48. Got the same box otherwise. Love this box!

Reply ButtonReply

Angela

I got the same items as Jenny Z. The eye/lip cream is really nice.

OMG loved this box! Just opened it up and got everything you got except I got an eyelash curler and OC8 mattifying gel. I’ve never curled my lashes and always said I was going to buy one of these things but never did. Now I have one. Yay! I am also soooo excited to try this mattifying gel. Just what the dr ordered!

Reply ButtonReply

Samantha

Instead of the lip balm I got Ole Henricksen truth serum collagen booster facial serum…booooo! Jealous of your lip balm!

Reply ButtonReply

Katelynn

Instead of the lip balm I got a sample size of Skin&Co Roma Truffle Therapy Serum which I probably won’t use because I don’t need anti-aging serums. Thankfully, I can just put it up to swap now if I want.

Reply ButtonReply

Janet

This is my first Glossybox and I love it! I got almost the same box as you but I did not get the puffy eye patches…I got OC8 Professional Mattifying Gel. Can’t wait to try all of these products. The value of my box is approx. $75!!!

Becca M

My February Glossybox should be in my mailbox according to the tracking info. It was delivered around 10:30a.m. I hope I got the lip balm! I’m also suppose to get a free lipstick because I used the coupon code BELLA so, I might not get the lip balm. Either way it beats what I got in my Birchbox for February.

Reply ButtonReply

Janet

Becca this was my first box and I got the lipstick and the lipgloss! If you count the lipstick, this is a $95 box for me!

Reply ButtonReply

Becca M

I just got home and Yay! My Glossybox was waiting for me. I got the figs & rouge lip balm, OC8 Professional Mattifying Gel, the Pureology Serious Colour Care, the Lauren B. Beauty nail polish (I love the color), the Sumita eyeliner, and bellapierre lipstick in Cat walk ( a very subtle pink). I think that I just might continue subscribing to Glossybox.

cheryl

I haven’t received mine yet (it’s on the way) – it looks great to me and I although I have a ton of black eye liners myself, I still haven’t find the “one” so happy to try a new brand.

Reply ButtonReply

Robyn

Does anyone know if the free cream is full size?

Reply ButtonReply

Stacey McManus

Yes!!! I have received a TON of black eyeliner this in various boxes….why can’t they use other colors???

Reply ButtonReply

Becca M

I hope someone can answer my question. Whenever I put eyeliner on my bottom eyelid it always runs all over the bottom of my eyelid. Will the eyeliner that came in this month’s Glossybox do the same thing?

There are eyeliners made for your “waterline” which is the place you are talking about underneath your eye. (where it potentially “waters” up) I did not get this glossybox but one of the other ladies above said this eyeliner is made for the waterline. If this is true then yes it is made to be used under your eye (in addition to being used as a regular eyeliner. I know that EM cosmetics makes a Waterliner (which is the first place I ever heard the term) and I’m sure there are many other companies that do too.

From what I know, the difference between a regular eyeliner and a waterline eyeliner is that one that is made for your waterline contains wax in it so it is sort of waterproof. So look for eyeliners containing wax if nothing else! Hope this helps!
