GlossyBox July 2013 - USA - Beauty Subscription Box

I was really excited to get the July GlossyBox – the spoilers looked great, and the theme was centered around items you need for the beach. This had all the makings of an amazing summer beauty box! First off, as usual – the packaging is the best. I always feel like I’m opening a gift when I open a GlossyBox!

Each GlossyBox comes with a card detailing each item in the box. Normally each box has 5 items, but July’s box has a bonus item – the makeup remover towelettes!

Brazilian Blowout Acai Deep Conditioning Mask – 1 oz Value $5

Bvlgari Shampoo & Shower Gel – 1 oz Value $6

I’ve received different Bvlgari items in past GlossyBoxes –  I love the scent, so they can keep sending them!

Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom Tinted Lip Balm Tube – FULL SIZE! Value $9

Nails Inc Baker Street Nail Polish – Mini size Value $4

This Figs & Rouge Lip Balm is my favorite discovery in the July GlossyBox. I love that it’s 100% natural! It adds a lot of shine and just a hint of color. Oh, and I love getting nail polish minis in subscription boxes! This is a bold color for me, but I’m going to try it!

Dr Brandt BB Matte with Signature Shinerase – .25 oz Value $10

Nicka K New York ABSOLUTE! Make-up Cleansing Tissues – 10 sheets Value $1.49

I’ve tried the original Dr Brand BB Cream, but this BB Matte is new to me. I love that it’s paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free, plus it has more coverage than most BB Creams – which is exactly what I look for in a BB cream!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $35 – not bad! While it’s not the highest value of GlossyBox I’ve received, I will use every single item, so it’s a very high value for me. What was your favorite item in the July GlossyBox?

  1. I actually really liked this box. I wasn’t so concerned about the price of everything as I was the products themselves. I love, love, love the nail polish. It is a beautiful, perfect shade of blue and perfect for the summer. The hair masque is wonderful my hair was shiny and bouncy. I wasn’t crazy about the BB cream. It was rather dry and did not blend well. It also settled around my eyes and left creases. The lip balm is very nice and not sticky at all, the only thing I don’t like about is the application, it’s kinda messy to just have a “toothpaste” like tube to squirt on your lips. I have not tried the body wash yet but it smells divine. i like make up wipes. They are convenient to have on trips or by your bedside table for those late nights when you don’t want to get up and wash your face!!

So overall this was a good box to me.

  2. I’m a new subscriber to Glossybox. The July 2013 Glossybox is terrific. I would of liked to have the BB Cream but the blemish serum sounds useful.I love the smell of the Nicka K New York Cleansing Tissues and The Figs and Rouge Lip Balm. I love everything in my box. It was nice to receive at the end of my work day.I feel like I have a special gift for me.Looking forward to the August Glossybox. 🙂

  3. This was my first Glossybox and I have to admit that I’m extremely disappointed..I mean, shouldn’t skin be more concerning than your hair? It was definitely nowhere worth the price I paid for. I think 10dollars beautyboxes are better. *unsubscribed*

    • I agree. The Glossybox was terrible. I am discontinuing asap!

  4. I receive 2 boxes each one did not contain the Dr Brandt – but the Evologie. A little disappointed but I will pass it along to a daughter. I really like the other items.

  5. I fell in love with Glossybox before i even had it, i was finally able to signup for the past 4 months its been one disappointment each time next month will be my last

  6. I just got the email that mines shipped today 🙁 im so disappointed in Glossybox that this is going to be my last box. I just dont think its worth it at this point.. Time to move to a new & better box 🙂

  7. Loving this box, can’t wait to get mine! Though this box value isn’t high as you said, I love the quality and this box has stuff that everyone could definitely use! GB is one of my fave subs!

  8. Well, I was annoyed. I signed up for Glossybox for the first time, thinking I’d just try a month and then cancel because I already spend WAY too much on beauty boxes, and I just got an annual sub to Lip Factory. Basically, I was curious.

But when my Glossybox came, I really liked everything in it, and have already tried everything! Dang you, Glossybox. If this was on the lower end of what they usually send, then I can’t unsubscribe.

    • Oh, the other thing: instead of the BB cream (which I didn’t need), I got something for blemishes (which I will need, as I tend to get them when I’m very stressed). It’s like they struck right at where I’m most vulnerable!

  9. I agree the value is not the usual, but I found myself using it ALL! the lip balm is my favorite! and the conditioner is awesome!! The shampoo/shower gel smells soooo good and lathers nicely. I always keep wipes in my purse, and of course love adding to my polish collection. I LOVE IT ALL!

    • Yay – glad to hear you loved it too! 🙂
