Sample Society August 2013 Review

Sample Society is one of my favorite tried and true beauty subscription boxes. Each month they consistently send out high-quality products in either deluxe or full size samples.

Each box comes with a mini-mag from Allure magazine with a few beauty tips!

And every box also includes a card detailing each item in your box that month. There's also a coupon code for $15 off any purchase of $50 or more at Beauty Bar if you have one item in your order that is one of the brands from the box that month!

Sample Society August 2013 Review

Supergoop! City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30 - 5 ml Value $4.20

Elemental Herbology Cell Plumping Facial Hydrator SPF 8  - 15 ml Value $22.20

I am so excited about this Elemental Herbology facial hydrator! It has an amazing fresh natural scent, it's free of harmful ingredients like parabens and phthalates, and it's truly a deluxe-size sample. I'll be able to use this for at least a few weeks!

I was less excited about the Supergoop! serum, only because I already have it in full-size - thanks POPSUGAR!

Jane Iredale Purelash Lash Conditioner - Mini Sample Value $4

Korres Cherry Oil Lip Gloss in 11 Buff - 2 ml Value $5.60

I thought Korres was a natural brand, but this lipgloss has artificial coloring. It smells just like fresh cherries though!

Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream - .34 oz Value $5.50

This cleansing cream doesn't lather like a typical cleanser. It's primary ingredient is almond meal, and it gives a fine exfoliation. I just tried it out on the back of my hand, and can't believe how clean and smooth my skin feels now. I think I'll end up using this cleanser to the last drop!

Verdict: Sample Society boxes always seem to have high values, and my August box is no exception. I paid $15 for this box and received over $40 worth of top-quality product. I think this might be my first Sample Society box where I was more excited about the skincare items than the makeup products! What did you get in your Sample Society box this month?

I received by box today and got the following:

Jane Iredale Purelash Conditioner
Cellceuticals Extremely Gentle Cleanser 2FL oz
Dr. T’s SuperGoop Sunscreen
Ahava Purifying Mud Mask .9 oz
Korres Cherry Lip Gloss

I’m bummed I didn’t get the Dr. Hauschka cleanser because I have wanted to try the line. I’m excited to try the Ahava mud mask. I love masks! I have really been happy with SS boxes because at least a couple of their samples that are substantial.

This is a NICE box! I canceled my subscription due to a couple of lackluster boxes for me-but I would have loved this one. I am surprised about Korres as well. I would love to try the face plumper, lash conditioner and cleanser. I will be adding Sample Society back very soon…
