Julep Mystery Box Review – Hamptons Destination Mystery Box

Julep Mystery Box Review - Hamptons Destination Mystery Box

This month Julep offered 3 different mystery boxes based on vacation destinations: The Hamptons, Miami and Laguna Beach. I wanted to buy all three boxes, but decided that since my Julep collection is getting crazy, it was time to show a little restraint! I decided to go with the Hamptons box thinking it would be more preppy/classic colors. (FYI - the mystery boxes are still available for purchase today!)

Julep Mystery Box Review - Hamptons Destination Mystery Box

The Box: Julep Destination Mystery Box (Hamptons)

The Cost: $24.99 (free shipping if you are a Julep Maven!)

The Products: $70-$200 worth of pretty polish and product.

Julep Mystery Box Review - Hamptons Destination Mystery Box

Julep Strawberry Mint Lip Balm - Value $6

Neon Hair Ties  - Value $4

Julep Pomegranate Body Creme - Value $18

I was so happy to find this Strawberry Mint Lip Balm in the box! (I first discovered it in the March Julep Maven box, and it's amazing but no longer available for sale on Julep).

Julep Mystery Box Review - Hamptons Destination Mystery Box

Julep Nail Color in Jackie - Value $14 (duplicate from the April Julep Maven box for me)

Julep Nail Color in Tori - Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Amelia - Value $14 (duplicate from the January Julep Maven box for me)

It's probably a good thing I didn't buy all three mystery boxes, I think I would have had a lot of duplicates on my hands! I'll be passing these classic colors along to a friend who also loves Julep!

Verdict: The Julep Mystery boxes promise a value of anywhere between $70-$200 worth of products. I always seem to get the boxes at the lesser end of that range, but it's still a great value, so I'm happy! I paid $24.99 for this box and received $70 worth of Julep product. Did you get your mystery box yet?

Seems like the boxes this round are all basically the same value: 3 polishes + lip balm + one additional product, more or less (unless someone out there has gotten a huge box). It’s a little less exciting, but also probably more fair. I got a very low-value Spring box and was kinda miffed to see everyone else’s photos of their $200 boxes, you know?

I got Laguna #5: Fiona, Cody, Abbie, lip balm, hand scrub. It will probably be my last mystery box for a while. Not really worth the $25 to me. I will give most of it away since I don’t really like any of the colors. (Heidi – surveyor’s tape! Ha! Exactly!)

I’m pretty happy with my box.(maybe because I’m still relatively new to this sub and haven’t gotten any dupes yet ;-))
I got Laguna Beach(version 6).
Simone- light,slightly iridescent lavender
Nikki- neon yellow
Natalie- bright coral

Also the strawberry mint lip balm and the hand and cuticle stick

My Sea Salt Mystery Box was so amazing, I definitely got one in the upper range, though I did not add up the value. This makes it hard to order another because I know it is very unlikely anything could even be close to that haul! I got the May mystery box and got much less. Probably the lowest value box. I skipped this destinations one, partly because the descriptions really didn’t give a very good idea of what the polishes might be. Loed that Sea Salt box and polish!! 😀

I am fairly new to the Julep line and therefore I decided to purchase one of each of the mystery boxes. (I purchased one last month, also.) I have to say, I am slightly disappointed in the fact that all 3 of the boxes are the low end value. It is a great bargain…don’t get me wrong, I just wonder if anyone really gets 200$ worth of product in these boxes?? I would have just liked at least one of my boxes to have more than 3 polishes in it since polish is the reason I buy the boxes. By the way, I don’t mind duplicates, as I just gift them to people.

I got the Miami box(version 3) and it was pretty disappointing. Especially compared to the last mystery box. It felt as though they were just trying to get rid of things. I got Lauren, Paris and Isla, as well as the dry shampoo.

Ugh after I thought I talked myself out of buying one, I ended up getting one anyway. Neon colors are not preppy or classic, at least thats what I thought. They remind me of the pink and orange ribbons that surveyors tie around stakes. This will be the first mystery box that I am not excited about getting.

Its a shame but after awhile its just doesn’t make any sense to buy the mystery boxes because you inevitably end up with duplicates!

Thanks for the review! I was torn between That Hamptons and Laguna Beach.

I received the same box as you did and I was totally disappointed. The lotion is oily, the nail colors are meh, and twist bands? Haven’t we seen enough of them!? I will not be purchasing a mystery box again…. I do like the lip balm though! 🙂
