What is Ipsy?

You’ve most likely already encountered this subscription box sensation on Instagram or in conversations with friends about beauty. Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that costs only $10 a month for a makeup bag of cosmetic samples. Each Glam Bag includes 5 products ranging from skincare items, perfumes, makeup, to nail products.

Ipsy offers a 2 minute beauty quiz to help customize your Glam Bag. The quiz asks you about your skin tone, eye color, hair color, and what beauty brands you love. You can also select your favorite makeup, skincare, haircare, and nail care products.  Your Ipsy bag takes into consideration your tastes and preferences on various color waves as well as your skin care concern.

How much does Ipsy cost?

The Ipsy Glam Bag cost only $10 a month. Yearly Glam Bag memberships are billed an annual fee of $110, so you’ll save by paying $9.17 a month. Ipsy now offers a Glam Bag Plus membership which cost $25 a month. This membership offers 5 full-sized products and a deluxe makeup bag every third delivery.

Who founded Ipsy?

Ipsy was founded in 2011 by Michelle Phan, Marcelo Camberos, and Jennifer Goldfarb. The founders wanted to democratize beauty and make it affordable for anyone interested in beauty. The ipster community posts content every day to give individuals the tools they need to help define their own beauty.

What does Ipsy stand for?

Ipsy is a play on the Latin word for self, ipse. The Glam Bag was created and inspired to help individuals around the world express their unique and individual beauty. Essentially, the Ipsy Glam Bag was made to express your “self.”
