Athletic Greens vs. GEM: Which is Right for You?

If you are anything like me, looking for a multivitamin supplement that is wholesome, clean, and effective is tough. It seems like many brands out on the market have so many fillers and unwanted ingredients in their multivitamin supplements. Even more, one that offers a subscription that's tailored just right can be difficult to find. This led me to compare GEM and Athletic Greens, two brands that take care of your daily nutritional needs while also providing peace of mind with a monthly subscription.

Here's my breakdown and comparison:

If you want the best taste... GEM

Overall, I was really impressed with the taste of GEM’s MultiBites. They are a nice, sweet little snack each day. Think of them like a fruity, almost chocolate-like treat. I personally like their Citrus-flavored MultiBites the best, but they also have a bunch of other flavors that I will definitely be trying out!

Athletic Greens, on the other hand, tasted really earthy to me. I was never a huge fan of the grassy-dirt like flavor of Athletic Greens, so I’m really happy to have found a tasty, even healthier alternative in GEM!

If you're looking for a larger product selection... GEM

Another key feature of GEM is that they offer a whole line of products, whereas Athletic Greens only has one or two to my knowledge. I’m a big fan of both GEM’s Daily Bites as well as their Sleep Essential Bites. GEM also offers their Calm Essential Bites as well as a cute little travel case that makes it really easy to bring my MultiBites wherever I travel!

Athletic Greens, on the other hand, doesn’t offer nearly as much as GEM does. For me, GEM is the clear winner here!

If you value convenience and ease of use... GEM

If you're looking for an easy and convenient way to get your daily dose of vitamins and minerals, GEM is a great option. These single-serve packets are perfect for throwing in your purse or gym bag, and they provide 100% of the recommended daily value of vitamins and micronutrients. GEM is also vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and non-GMO.

Unlike GEM Vitamins, Athletic Greens AG1 comes in a powder form that can be mixed with water or added to smoothies. It also contains a green blend of 75 different vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Athletic Greens is also vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO. GEM wins here because you can just pop them in your mouth and go. Whereas you need to have something to mix with the AG1.

If you want the best ingredients... It's a Tie!

Some of my favorite ingredients that are included in GEM’s MultiBites are: spirulina (stamina builder), pumpkin seeds (system defender), chickpeas (bone protector), chia seeds (omega balancer), ashwagandha (stress fighter) and more! All of GEM’s products never contain and animal products or byproducts, dairy, soy, gluten, artificial colorants or unnecessary binders and fillers - they're clean, high quality and backed by science.

Athletic Greens also uses high-quality ingredients such as organic spirulina, lecithin, organic apple powder, inulin, organic wheat grass juice powder and more.

If you want more affordable products... GEM by far.

GEM is significantly more affordable than Athletic Greens. GEM starts at just $60 for a one-time purchase or $50 per month with a subscription.

Athletic Green's has a really steep price point of $99 for a one-time purchase or $90 per month with a subscription. It's a total turn-off for me, and I imagine many others.

The Ultimate Winner... GEM!

While I had tried Athletic Greens before, I’m making the switch to GEM. Their MultiBites are 100x more effective for me and my dietary needs and they’ve become one of my favorite parts of my morning routine. I mean, come on – having a bite-sized healthy, sweet treat every morning as your vitamin? It doesn’t get much better than that.

I’d highly recommend checking out GEM and giving their MultiBites a try.
