Turkey and cheese sandwiches just aren't cutting it anymore for me and my household. While they've been a staple for lunch for what seems like forever, we finally decided to break free from tradition and get a bit adventurous. So, we decided to give Green Chef lunches a go! Here are 3 of my family's new favorite sandwiches from Green Chef that have quite a personality and never disappoint.

3 Sandwiches You Have To Try From Green Chef For Lunch

1. Prosciutto, Mozz & Pepper Jam Melts

For the days we crave a bit of sweet with savory, these melts do the job. To make this lunch, you'll first prep your ingredients which includes removing the stems from the kale and chopping it into bite-size pieces as well as halving the ciabatta bread and mozzarella into slices. Then, you'll create balsamic kale by lightly mixing balsamic glaze and kale together in a bowl. While this is marinating, you'll need to assemble the sandwiches which requires spreading red pepper jam onto the ciabatta loaves and dividing mozzarella and prosciutto between the bottom and top halves. All that's left is to warm up the melts in a toaster oven for just long enough to melt the cheese and lightly brown the bread, place the balsamic kale on top of the halves once warmed, and enjoy. Each serving contains 710 calories which includes 69g carbs, 32g protein, and 32g fat.

2. Cheesy BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

Usually cheesy and BBQ don't go together in the same sentence, but this recipe shows they're actually a match made in heaven. To start off this meal, you'll need to prep the scallions and cabbage as well as slice the ciabatta bread into halves. Then, you'll create a slaw by combining lemon aїoli, crème fraîche, and Italian-style spices and dill with the cabbage and scallions. Next, top the chicken strips with mild barbecue sauce and barbecue spice blend and heat them up in the oven or microwave. After the chicken has heated up, assemble the sandwiches by sprinkling sharp cheddar cheese on top of the ciabatta halves, warm them up just enough to melt the cheese, and then place the chicken strips on top before closing the sandwiches. Each serving contains 850 calories which includes 76g carbs, 43g protein, and 37g fat.

3. Greek Pitas with Harissa Hummus

While I'm definitely a meat lover, I have to admit that sometimes I need a break from my carnivorous side. These pitas are the perfect option for those days. To start, prep the veggies and lemon then create a Harissa hummus by combining roasted red pepper hummus, honey, juice from 1-2 lemon wedges, harissa seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Next, create a cucumber tomato salad by mixing together cucumber, tomatoes, sliced almonds, and sour cream with lemon and dill. You'll then want to slightly toast the pitas, halve them, and then build the sandwich by spreading hummus on top, stuffing the pitas with cucumber tomato salad, and then sprinkling them with feta cheese. Each serving contains 660 calories which includes 70g carbs, 17g protein, and 30g fat.
