Meal kits are becoming a beloved service. We took some time to explore some from around the world. And even though you can get a HelloFresh subscription in many of these countries, here are some we can't find in the US.

1. UCOOK: South Africa

About the box: UCOOK meal kits work similarly to HelloFresh. You get to choose your meals from a selection of recommended recipes every week. You can also update your preferences, including pork-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options.

What kind of recipes do they have? They really have many options, including mushroom bao buns, Swedish-style wagyu meatballs, and ostrich tacos de birria. Quite the fancy selection if you ask me!

Is it available in the US? No. UCOOK delivers mostly across the Western Cape, Gauteng, and KwaZulu-Natal.

2. Cook It: Canada

About the box: Cook It was one of Quebec's first meal delivery kits. Every week, you get to choose from pre-selected recipes that match your diet. Each box comes with most of your ingredients and a recipe card to complete your meal in as little time as possible. With Cook It, you have the option to choose "ready-to-cook" meals or "ready-to-eat" meals so you can adapt your meals to your schedule.

What kind of recipes do they have? They have a great selection of international meals, including braised beef, chipotle kidney bean burger, and lemon oregano crusted haddock.

Is it available in the US? No. Cook It kits are available in Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritime provinces.

3. Nettmat: Norway

Cost: 499NOK (2 servings, 3 meals per week) = $55.35

About the box: Nettmat offers easy-to-cook and easy-to-follow meals in five categories: family, flexitarian, vegan, solo, and inspiration. You can customize the recommended menus to meet your preferences. They use products from local suppliers as much as possible to guarantee freshness. And unlike other meal kits, Nettmat actually lets you add kitchen utensils and even pantry staples to your box for an added fee to complete your cooking experience.

What kind of recipes do they have? Nettmat has international and local cuisine staples, including a chicken korma with rice and naan bread, fish soup with fresh salmon and white fish, and local haddock chops with red cabbage and wild rice.

Is it available in the US? No. Nettmat delivers only in Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen, and throughout Stavanger and the wider Rogaland region.

4. Kurami: United Kingdom

Cost: £157.70 (1 servings, 18 meals per week) = $212.55

About the box: Kurami is a meal kit that sends you daily boxes with everything you'll need to meet your meals for the day. They even include snacks and drinks to help you fuel your body throughout the day. Each meal is carefully curated by a chef and a dedicated nutritionist to create balancing meals for their subscribers. Their self-love and sustainable habit box even include candles, bath oils, and affirmation cards. How cute is that?!

What kind of recipes do they have? Their menu is varied since they send over breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Their sample menu includes nutty noodle salad, golden smoothie bowl, and trout and greens with peperonata. Plus snacks like beet dip and dippers, or drinks like white iced tea with hibiscus.

Is it available in the US? No. Right now, Kurami is only available in the UK. But can we get a petition to bring them to the US?

5. Goodfood: Canada

About the box: Goodful lets you shop for meal kits, groceries, and more. They have excellent ready-to-cook meals designed by a team of chefs. Unlike most meal delivery companies, Goodfood also offers ready-made dishes that you can take on the go or work for a quick healthy lunch. They have a sample menu that lets you pick and choose your favorite recipes.

What kind of recipes do they have? They have a great variety of meals to choose from, including ground pork and pesto Gemelli, kung pao chicken with sweet pepper and zucchini, and creamy mushroom, leek, and sweet potato chowder.

Is it available in the US? No. They only deliver across Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and the Maritimes provinces.

6. Pasta Evangelist: United Kingdom

Cost: Minimum £10 per order = $13.47

About the box: Pasta Evangelist is a subscription box for pasta lovers sourcing authentic pasta from Italy to the UK. They send everything you'll need to make restaurant-quality pasta at home, including pre-portioned pasta, original sauces, and even garnishes. They have vegan and vegetarian options and even have lasagna recipes that are easy to do.

What kind of recipes do they have? They have different dishes, including vegan carbonara, spicy chorizo sausage lasagne, and pappardelle with a wild mushroom sauce.

Is it available in the US? It only delivers in the UK, including Northern Ireland. I might need to figure out how to get my hands on these recipes.

7. Eko Menu: Netherlands

About the box: Eko Menu is a meal delivery kit that focuses on keeping a healthy lifestyle easier. They use responsibly-sourced and organic ingredients with easy-to-cook dishes. What kind of recipes do they have? Every week, they have a new sample menu with recipes like red cabbage soup, shawarma sandwich with tomato salad, and gratinated kohlrabi casserole.

Is it available in the US? No. Currently, they deliver to select areas in the Netherlands and continue to expand each month.

8. Food in the Box: Spain

What kind of recipes do they have? Depending on the plan you choose, you'll receive recipes like falafel bowl, keto burrito, and butter chicken.

Is it available in the US? Not yet. While Food in the Box is currently available in Madrid, they plan to bring the meal delivery service to the United States.

About the box: HelloFresh is by far one of the most popular meal kit delivery services. Most people don't know that HelloFresh started in Germany! And they only started distributing to the US in 2013. Today HelloFresh is delivered to over twelve countries, including the UK, Australia, France, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, New Zealand, Canada, Norway, and Denmark.

What kind of recipes do they have? After trying HelloFresh myself during the holidays, I can tell you they have it all. We made shrimp tacos, eggs over sweet potato nachos, pork stir-fry, and even ravioli. Of course, their recipes vary a bit with the different countries, which makes me like this box even more.

10. Pepper Leaf: Australia

About the box: Pepper Leaf is a small company in Australia that wants to keep things local. Their meals include free-range, grass-fed meats straight from local butchers. They also have only sustainably caught seafood and seasonal veggies to give you the freshest ingredients for their recipes.

What kind of recipes do they have? They have different recipes that adapt to you. Some of the ones available include almond chicken with tomato salad, aloo chole with vegetables, and barley and peanut island with curry dressing.

Is it available in the US? No. Pepper Leaf aims to stay local and only deliver to cities within Australia.
