Ring in the New Year with the 12 Best Champagne Subscription Boxes

Lindsey Morse
ByLindsey MorseDec 23, 2020 | 0 comments

New Year's Eve is right around the corner, and waiting for the ball to drop at midnight simply isn't as much fun without a glass of bubbly in your hand. To help you get into the holiday spirit, I've compiled a list of great sparkling wine subscription options. Many of these boxes are reader favorites (and featured on our 2020 Reader's Choice list of The 13 Best Wine Subscription Boxes), and I've even tossed in a few of my personal faves, as well as some non-vino options for those who love fizz but not wine. Best of all? These boxes are fun year-round, so I fully encourage you to keep on popping those corks into January and beyond.

Read on to see which subscriptions offer up my favorite bubbles, or check out our full wine directory here!

12 Champagne Subscription Boxes to Help You Ring in the New Year

Okay, first things first, not all of the subscription services on this list specialize in actual Champagne. For those who don't know, only sparkling wines that are made in the Champagne region of France can legitimately claim that title. So, for this post, I'm being a little loose and free and including all sparkling wine. (Hopefully, France will forgive me for being so cavalier.) I'm also including a few sparkling wine alternatives, so if vino's simply not your thing, there still might be something for you towards the bottom of the list. Let's dive in!

1. The Sip

Image from our review.

The Cost: Bi-monthly shipments start at $59.95 per month for three individually-sized bottles. Sign up here!

Ships to: U.S. (all states except Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Hawaii, Alaska, and Utah)

ACTIVE DEAL: Get $5 off each of your first 6 boxes!
CODE: HOMESIP

About the Box: If you love bubbly but only drink a glass every once in a while, or if you want to try a selection of different offerings without committing to full-sized bottles, check out The Sip. You'll receive mini bottles in every shipment (either three 187 ml bottles or one 375 ml bottle & one 187 ml), and with each order, you'll receive a $10 credit you can put towards a regular bottle. Sampling small bottles can be a great way to discover your new favorites. (Me? I think mini bottles are great, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that a mysterious stranger gifts me a subscription that sends Nebuchadnezzars.)

Check out our The Sip info to learn more.

2. Club Bubbly

The Cost: Bi-monthly shipments start at $70.00 per month for three bottles. Sign up here!

Ships to: U.S. (all states except Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, & Utah)

About the Box: Club Bubbly sends nothing but... well, bubbly. When you sign up for a subscription, you'll choose whether you want to receive only Champagne or a selection of domestic and international sparkling wines. (If you're a fancy-schmancy kinda person who prefers your bubbles to come from France, this subscription might be right up your alley!) Every shipment features bottles selected by the Club Bubbly wine experts for wine lovers like you.

3. Winc

The Cost: Prices start at $12.99 per bottle with free shipping for orders with 4+ bottles. Sign up here!

Ships to: U.S. (all states except AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, KY, MI, MS, RI, SD, and UT)

About the Box: Winc is a monthly subscription that specializes in small-batch wines and allows you to fully customize your shipments. They'll suggest wines they think you might like, but it's entirely up to you which wines go in your box. Want all bubbles? No problem. (Or, at least, it's not usually a problem. At the time of writing, all of Winc's sparkling wines are currently sold out... perhaps subscribers are stocking up for holiday celebrations at home?) Past offerings have included prosecco, sparkling chardonnay, and Winc's signature Summer Water® Bubbly Rosé. (Yours truly is a HUGE fan of Summer Water®.)

Read our Winc reviews and check out our Winc info to learn more.

4. Fat Cork

The Cost: $199 per quarterly shipment for 3 bottles. Sign up here!

Ships to: U.S. (all states except Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Vermont)

About the Box: Fat Cork exclusively features Champagne, and they have several different subscription tiers available: Classic, Fancy, and Extra Fancy. If you're looking for "the good stuff," look no further. Every bottle sent out by Fat Cork is French, and Fancy and Extra Fancy subscribers can expect to receive tête de cuvée, which is truly high-quality and the best of the best. Every box comes with tasting notes from Fat Cork's sommeliers that include info about the featured wines, growers, and winemakers. If you're looking for a straight-up Champagne club, this might be the wine of the month club for you.

The Cost: $110 per shipment for 4 full-sized bottles of wine. Save on the per-bottle price with larger orders. Sign up here!

Ships to: I can't find any shipping restrictions mentioned on Plonk's site, so it looks like they ship across the US. You can enter your zip code at checkout to confirm they ship to your address.

About the Box: While Plonk doesn't offer a subscription option exclusively for sparkling wine, if you sign up for the "Mixed Wine Club," you can expect to receive whites, reds, rosés, and bubbles. Their current shipment (at the time of writing) features a bottle of Maison Foucher Cremant de Loire Brut Rosé Cuvee, an "elegant sparkling wine from the Loire Valley in France [that's] made using Methode Champenoise." Ooh la la.

Here's what you can expect from this subscription: "With this popular wine subscription club, you’ll get it all, from something a bit drier and zestier like a Spanish Cava or Brut, to something sweeter and more perfumed like a great Prosecco from Italy, or even respected vintage champagnes from the heart of France." So, with this subscription, you'll get wines from France, Italy, California, and more.

What you’ll get: This subscription sends a mix of Champagne and sparkling wine, and you can customize how many bottles you'd like and how frequently you want to receive them. (Tired of bubbles and want to mix things up with some cabernet, pinot grigio, or other varietals? Vinesse has clubs that will send red wine, white wine, or a mix of both. You can also sign up for full case shipments.)
