BURST Water Flosser vs That Generic Vacuum Cleaner-Like Water Flosser

Every dentist appointment ends with, “You GOTTA floss more!” So, as everyone would, I’d religiously floss for the week after my appointment and totally blow it off for the next six months. It isn’t because I had anything against flossing – I’d either forget or didn’t want to take the time to do it.

My hygienist suggested I get a water flosser so I started looking into them and bought one I found online.

Water flossing was easier on my sensitive gums, but the machine I got wasn’t very practical. It looked like an industrial manufacturing machine, honestly.

It was a large piece of equipment that took up WAY too much space on my counter. My boyfriend wasn’t happy that I was taking up even more precious real estate on our shared vanity, and honestly, neither was I. It kinda felt like it was just going to be another piece of equipment that I would store away and never remember to haul out to use. After all, look at that thing. I didn’t get why my hygienist would suggest I get this thing..?

It also didn’t work unless it was plugged in. So yeah, it was giving me some serious vacuum cleaner vibes.

After a couple of months, I became obsessed with water flossing but still HATED the way this machine looked on my counter. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for something to be both useful and pretty to look at. So when BURST reached out and offered to send me their new high-tech water flosser I was game. Let me tell you out of the box it was already amazing – BURST’s sleek, compact design gives it way better counter-appeal and doesn’t make my bathroom look like a dentist’s office.

An amazing feature of the BURST water flosser is that it's cordless and shower-proof!

No cord means that I can bring it with me anywhere I go. Yes, I mean anywhere…The BURST water flosser is fully water-resistant, so you can even floss in the shower! Also, the compact design and travel bag make it easy to stow away when traveling, or even under the sink so you don’t give up coveted counter space! I actually prefer to keep this one on the counter because it’s way less bulky than the old one and it looks great too.

I went away over the weekend and I didn’t even consider not bringing the BURST flosser. I could have never brought my old flosser with me anywhere. But with BURST, it was so easy to pack and bring it with me. Plus, a single overnight charge will last for 80 days so you don’t have to worry charging while you’re on the go.

With my old flosser, there was only one speed. BURST gives me options, baby!

I LOVE the multiple settings. My old water flosser did the job but had only one speed that didn’t exactly feel like a spa day in my mouth. It was a little jarring at first but I mostly got used to it. But some days, I just wanted a more relaxing experience if my gums were feeling a little extra sensitive for whatever reason.

Fortunately, the BURST water flosser has a “sensitive” speed for my gums when they need a softer touch. And conversely, I can dial up the intensity when I want a more rigorous clean. There are three settings: Standard, Turbo, and Pulse. The Standard setting is the most gentle and it’s the one I use most days to floss with a steady stream of water. When I want a deeper clean, I’ll use the more powerful Turbo and occasionally I’ll turn to Pulse to enjoy a relaxing gum massage as well. All settings are great for removing plaque and the revolving tip makes it easy to get to the hard to reach spots in the back.

The BURST water flosser includes a Classic Tip that is compatible with any setting on the flosser. However, you can also choose the optional Perio Tip if you have sensitivity or gum disease or the Ortho Tip if you currently have braces. To keep it hygienic, BURST sends me a fresh tip every 24 weeks for just $6 so I don’t have to worry about forgetting to change it.

Time to say goodbye to your clunky water flosser and give BURST water flosser a spin... literally.

Now that I’ve made the switch to BURST, I’ve become a daily flosser. Is it weird that I look forward to it as a relaxing way to end every day? Well, I can’t recommend it enough because my gums have never felt better!
