I have a confession to make - I was an absolute Nancy Drew fanatic growing up. I played every single computer game I could get my hands on and read as many books as possible to further my sleuthing skills. Nancy Drew made up a huge part of my life as a little girl and I can thank the series for the love I have today for a good mystery.

As an adult, I decided to branch out and try new games and series, partially for entertainment, but mostly to satisfy my inner-detective desires. I realized that mystery subscription boxes were an amazing way to do this and scoured the internet for the best ones available today.

Here, I'll review the 8 best mystery subscription boxes of 2023. This list includes escape room games, crime scene adventures, and some of the best new books out today. Even if you're not a die-hard Nancy Drew fan like me, I guarantee you're bound to enjoy solving the mysteries below.

This almost felt like a bait and switch to me just because I totally thought that a “mystery” box was the kind that you didn’t know the contents of – not mystery novels and who done it puzzles like Hunt A Killer. I know it’s not really a bait and switch, but I must say a list of the best true mystery boxes like I am talking about would be good.

Agreed. They should have changed the title to “mystery novel subscription” or something like that.
