Great quality shirts. I currently own their white t-shirt from the Unstainable collection. Best white t-shirt EVER. They have great customer representatives and service. However, they take foreverrrrrrrr to ship. Still haven't gotten shipping notification for the summer box when it's already the 19th. Shipping date was June 1st.

I used to love this subscription - items are generally my style and have good fit. They've had a few quality issues recently where the shirts I received were defective (faulty zippers, clasps, stitching). Their return policy only allowed for exchange or merchandise credit, which I thought was pretty poor customer service for clothing that's in a relatively premium price range. For the most recent box, I decided I didn't love the items, but they apparently only let you skip for store credit once they charge your card. For that reason, I give this a 0 for ease of cancellation.

I love many of the E&C shirts. My problem is with their shipping, which was terrible before the pandemic. Now, you can expect your order a minimum of 1-3 months after it should have arrived. The problem with this (besides the general annoyance), is that many of the shirts are seasonal. So, if your order for summer shirts is supposed to arrive day in early June, but you don’t receive it until months later, you might not get much wear out of the shirts until the following year Since customer service switched from Ashley to Heather, things have gone down hill. As much as I adore this company and want to support this business, I’d urge you stay away unless you can afford not to receive your order for a long time.

tl;dr: Some gems, but do not order unless you're certain you'll not need to make a return, as you may not get your money back. I shopped with E&C starting in 2017. Some of their shirts are amazing finds. (My favorites are the Norcross and the Davis.) However, most are either too plain for the price or too "out there" with poorly-executed ruffles (e.g. the Amherst). Very hit-or-miss styles/fit and the Unstainable fabric can make the shirts less breathable at times, but I do admire the push for smarter, more functional clothing. The business itself is where the low rating stems from. First, with their subscription plan, they bill months ahead of shipping & you cannot cancel your order once you've been billed. Second, customer support has deteriorated over time. (Ashley was fantastic, but it's since changed to Heather who is the reason I've stopped supporting E&C.) My "last straw" story follows, wherein E&C swindled me out of $80 with no willingness to correct the issue from Heather in support. I tried to cancel a box, but was unsuccessful due to the billing timing noted above. I then tried to return the 3 shirts once I received them, but was told by Heather that the warehouse only received 1 shirt back & that they would not be refunding the $80 for the other 2 shirts. I sent back a photo of my USPS shipping receipt (showing the weight of the return box to be the weight of all 3 shirts), but they ignored this evidence completely and did not even acknowledge it, despite follow-ups & a credit card dispute. USPS's tracking portal did not show any incidents that could have disrupted my return en route, so I'm certain that their warehouse misprocessed the return. However, support was either not willing to concede human error was possible or they're just trying to nickle and dime customers to save money during the COVID19 pandemic. I don't know which, but it's really left me with a sour last impression of E&C. I recommend Ministry of Supply and M.M.LaFleur for performant clothing and more human-centric policies and support.

I like how you can choose from the tops that will be shipping and you know exactly what you are getting. I'll update when I receive my first box in September....so long to wait!!!

I tried this one. I ordered the three shirts. I wasn't happy with the quality of them. The shirts were that thin rayon/chiffon material. I had to email to return them & cancel several times. They wound up charging me for the next season as well, and I had to call again for my refund. The woman was very polite, but it took several communications to get my money refunded.
