Silk + Sonder October 2026
Holy moly, I am having a tough time keeping up lately! It seriously feels like it was just August, and now we’re already heading into October. I remember back in the day when the start of the school year seemed to last forever, and now we’re already heading into the second month! Between work, football, my husband’s hunting trips, and taking care of our home, my schedule is absolutely jam-packed. Without this planner, I would be completely lost.
With my chaotic schedule, I need my Silk + Sonder planner to keep track of my day-to-day life. It has become an essential part of my routine and helps me manage everything I need to get done. I seriously use it every single day, and if I didn’t have it, my anxiety would probably be through the roof!
Not only is it beautiful to look at, but it also gives me a chance to pause, reflect, and reset. It helps me stay organized, grounded, and just a little more in control of everything life throws my way. Honestly, I can’t imagine managing it all without it.
Power — The inner strength and capacity to create change, set boundaries, and take action aligned with your values and well-being.
I love that Silk + Sonder chooses a unique theme each month, and I truly appreciate how thoughtfully Meha Agrawal, the creator, curates each one. October’s theme is Power, and as soon as I read the word, I knew it was exactly the theme I needed this month.
I’ve realized that I need to take back the power in my life and trust my instincts. With so much going on, I’ve felt a little like I’m losing control, and I think I just need to stop, step back, and focus on what I can control while letting go of what’s no longer serving me.
This month, I’m focusing on being present, appreciating each and every moment, and reminding myself not to compare my life to anyone else’s—with maybe a little extra rest sprinkled in there, too. ❤️
One of my favorite things about Silk + Sonder is receiving a fresh planner each month. That little reset feels so refreshing—year-long planners always end up feeling overwhelming to me. This planner does include a year-at-a-glance page, but the boxes are quite small, so I mainly use it as a quick reference when looking ahead at future dates.
At the beginning of each month, I fill in the calendar with upcoming events, and before I know it, the days start flying by. Because sports practice times are only given a week at a time, our calendar looks pretty quiet right now. Trust me, that is definitely not the case! As soon as I get the practice schedules, I add those times to the calendar, and it helps me stay on track. I typically take a photo of it and send it to my husband so he can be part of the chaos and try to keep track, too.
Staying organized plays a huge role in managing my anxiety, so having a quick-reference calendar right at the front of my planner is a lifesaver. It helps me stay grounded and calm when life gets hectic—especially during seasons when taking things one day at a time just isn’t quite enough.
On page 6, we turn to the “Future Log,” which includes two small calendars for the upcoming months. There’s just enough space to jot down a few quick notes—and honestly, I’m so focused on the now that I don’t even want to think about November and December yet. Bleh!!! Can we please just put time on pause for a minute?!
On the opposite page, we have a “Wheel of Life” activity. This section gives you space to rank 10 different areas of your life based on how fulfilled you currently feel. It then includes a wheel where you can jot down ideas for ways to increase your level of fulfillment in each area.
I’ve done this activity before, but it’s been a little while, so it was nice to check in with myself again. My rankings definitely change from month to month, and right now, I’m feeling happy and fulfilled in some areas, while others could definitely use a little more attention!
Page 8 offers space to reflect on the previous month, with sections to capture your wins, challenges, and favorite moments. It’s such a helpful way to pause and evaluate what’s working—and what isn’t. This is one of my favorite pages because it reminds me to acknowledge the small accomplishments that might otherwise go unnoticed. There’s also a section to jot down what you want to start, stop, and continue moving forward.
September was a wild one, and it’s not even over yet! My husband ditched me to go on a twelve-day elk hunt, so I had to hold down the fort all by myself. Between two practices a day and work, I was hardly ever home and was feeling a little extra stressed. Those were definitely some of my challenges, along with my son getting a concussion while playing football. I’ve literally been a basket case!
My wins and favorite moments included some of those same things—goose hunting, flower gardens, kitty snuggles, butterfly migration fun, a campfire, game night, sleeping in, and one glorious lazy Sunday. Phew. I’m exhausted all over again just from rehashing it!
Reflecting on these moments helps keep me grounded. Even when things feel difficult, life is still filled with so much goodness. I love that this page encourages me to recognize and hold on to those moments while letting go of the hard things and reminding myself that I can get through whatever life throws my way.
Next up is the Monthly Intentions page. I love this section because it gives you space to set meaningful goals and revisit them throughout the month. With six categories and boxes to fill in, there’s plenty of room to jot down your thoughts and ideas.
It’s not necessarily a to-do list—it’s more about starting the month with intention and reminding yourself what you’d like to focus on. This month, my intentions are pretty simple, and I’ve already started a few of them—and, dare I say, I’ve actually stuck with them! Since school started, I’ve done a Leslie Sansone exercise video and yoga every single day. I’m really proud of myself!
As I mentioned earlier, Silk + Sonder is so much more than just a planner—and the trackers on pages 10 and 11 are proof of that. These pages feature a mood tracker and a habit tracker, giving you space to log your daily moods and monitor your habits throughout the month.
I find this feature especially helpful for identifying patterns, which is something that truly supports me in managing my anxiety. What I love most is how customizable these trackers are—you can focus on exactly what matters most to you, all while enjoying such a beautiful design.
Silk + Sonder typically ships about a week and a half before the new month begins, so while I’ve already created my “keys” for each tracker, I haven’t started filling them in just yet. Last month my circles were almost full! Wooo hooo!!
Page 12 features another tracker—this one focused on sleep. I don’t usually have trouble in that department, so this is a page I tend to skip. The opposite page, however, is one of my favorites. Page 13 features a gratitude jar, with plenty of space to write down the things I’m grateful for. Since it doesn’t list specific days of the month, I was able to start early and watch it slowly fill up.
I truly believe practicing gratitude is one of the simplest ways to shift your mindset and find more joy in everyday moments, even if you don’t use this specific planner. Especially during tough or stressful seasons, taking a few minutes to reflect on what we’re thankful for can serve as a gentle reminder that there is still so much goodness and beauty around us.
I love that this page encourages me to slow down and intentionally notice the little things—the moments, people, and blessings that can be easy to overlook when life gets busy.
This month’s theme is Power, and on page 14, we’re given several prompts that focus on this concept. There’s also an activity that asks you to explore where you feel powerful and where you’d like to feel more powerful. Continuing with the theme, we’re also given space in a “Power Portal” to express what your personal power looks and feels like.
I’ll be honest—I received this journal back in September, and I just wasn’t ready to dive into these prompts yet. I do appreciate their inclusion, though, because they encourage me to dig a little deeper, reflect on myself, and think about how I can continue to grow and build on my own personal power.

Page 17 features a beautiful poem titled “Woman Work” by Maya Angelou. This poem resonated with me more than I’d care to admit. It’s absolutely beautiful and was exactly what I needed to read this month.
The next page features a really pretty coloring page this month. I’m not quite sure what it’s supposed to be, but it has a beautiful floral design that almost looks like the top of a head viewed from the front. It’s definitely a little abstract, but I loved that I could use a larger pen nib to color it in. It was surprisingly calming to work on while I was on the phone and gave me a chance to relax and unwind a bit after a long, stressful day.
On the opposite page, I received a “Duality Exercise,” which gives you space to explore the different sides of yourself by writing down what you are and what else you are—like the sun and the rain. I really like the idea behind this exercise and the reminder that we can hold seemingly opposite qualities at the same time. I’m planning to dig into this one a little more on a quiet Sunday morning, before the boys wake up, with a hot cup of coffee in hand!
Every Silk + Sonder journal includes a recipe, and this month’s dish calls for ingredients I don’t currently have on hand—which is usually the case for me with these recipes! This month’s featured recipe is Pumpkin Baked Oatmeal, which sounds absolutely delicious, but I don’t think I’ve ever even seen cashew butter before! It does look tasty, though, so let me know in the comments if you’ve made something similar and whether you think it’s worth picking up the ingredients.
On the opposite page is a “Create Your Own Bingo” activity. Like I mentioned before, my anxiety has been ramping up lately, and I think this page is exactly what I need. It gives you space to jot down your favorite self-care activities and then challenge yourself to actually make time for them throughout October. I need this! And while I may not think I have time for it, I definitely need to use my power to carve out some time for myself.
Blank sheets are always helpful and a great place to do some long division, write notes, and jot down addresses!
Each month, we get some kind of brain puzzle, and this time, it’s a labyrinth. I always enjoy these little challenges, although I haven’t quite figured out the maze yet! I did manage to solve the riddle this month, though. Look away if you don’t want the answer spoiled!
On the opposite page, there’s an expense tracker. While it’s a great feature, I don’t personally use it since I already keep track of my expenses in a Google Doc. That’s one of the things I really appreciate about this journal—it’s designed to be flexible and can be used in whatever way works best for you.
I love that this journal always starts on a Monday, and because October falls on a Thursday, we get a few extra September days! When it comes to the journal as a whole, I probably spend the most time on these calendar pages. With sections for meal planning, to-do lists, habits and activities, shopping lists, and daily schedules, I truly write everything here.
These pages help keep me on track each day and give me that satisfying sense of accomplishment—because honestly, there’s nothing better than crossing something off a list! I also really appreciate the thoughtful extras included throughout these pages. While I don’t always fill out the section about how I want to feel each week, I found it especially helpful this time to write those intentions down and pray over them.
This journal is seriously so helpful and has become such an important part of my routine!
Tidying up with one last quote, the dictionary definition of "sonder," and the back cover, that's all there is to it. I have come to find that a key part of my day is when I sit and fill out my planner with my cup of coffee. This quiet time happens before the kids are awake, and kicks my day off to a good start before the chaos starts. It is extremely important for me to keep a consistent schedule for managing my anxiety and creating much more positive life, and this journal definitely is a big help in that.
The Verdict
I have to say, I truly enjoyed October’s theme of Power because the insane schedule switch has me a little frazzled. I needed a reminder to hone in on what matters and stay organized, and it has truly helped me manage my anxiety! Every moment is a gift, and I really need to slow down, relax, and savor the little moments I’m given.
Silk + Sonder has been an incredible source of support through both the good times and the challenging ones. It has truly become a necessity in my daily routine! Without this planner, I’d definitely feel lost—and so would my husband!
I continue to be impressed with this subscription and can’t wait to see what November has in store.
I typically set aside about 15–20 minutes each day for this journal, flipping from front to back as I reflect, add to, and process what I’ve written. By the end of the month, my thoughts feel much more organized, and I feel more grounded. The beauty of this planner is remarkable, and its portable size means I can easily carry it with me in my purse wherever I go.
I’ve been so impressed with every aspect of this journal, and I’m truly looking forward to continuing this journey of learning more about myself—all while staying organized, enjoying a little daily quiet time, and prioritizing meaningful self-care.
