First Impressions
One of my favorite things about the IPSY Original subscription is the excitement of discovering a new bag design every month. I’ve been a subscriber for years, and the fun, creative styles—along with the amazing products inside—keep me coming back for more.
To celebrate the arrival of September, we received a bag that still gave me some definite summer vibes. This purple mesh bag features a bright floral design and an adorable flower-power zipper pull. It isn’t lined, but it’s absolutely adorable—and the perfect size for keeping my lip gloss, Band-Aids, and other little emergency essentials organized inside my purse.
This is seriously one of my favorite IPSY bags ever!
Also included is a product card featuring the “Rebel in Color” theme, along with a sneak peek at some of the IPSY Original products. It also includes a QR code for more details about this month’s bag contents and a preview of next month’s highlights!

YENSA BEAUTY Pink Lotus Peptide Renewal Eye Cream - Deluxe Sample - Estimated Value $16.00
I have mentioned this before, but I love me some good skin care! That being said, this month’s eye cream by Yensa Beauty was a great fit for my 38-year-old skin. This bright pink tube contains a light pink cream with a very subtle, sweet scent that blends into my skin nicely, helping my tired eyes look brighter. I have some fine lines, and this seemed to help with those, too. There was enough product for quite a few uses, and I really enjoyed the formula. It worked well under my makeup and might just show up in a full-size version on my doorstep very soon!
BISHA Essential Setting Powder in Tokyo Translucent - Deluxe Sample - Estimated Value $7.33
My skin has been a little wild lately. Usually, it’s pretty normal to combination, but lately, it has been so oily. I suppose that’s a perimenopause thing. Blah! With all that extra shine, I was happy to receive this BISHA Essential Setting Powder. It’s sort of like magic! I used my puffy brush to tap it onto my skin, and the white powder disappears, creating a matte finish without looking dry while taking away my oily shine. It’s easy to apply, blends in nicely, and stays on all day! I am definitely a fan!
BLISS Pore Patrol Flower Blemish Patches - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $18.00
IPSY must know that my skin has been a bear this month! Next up, I received this set of flower-shaped blemish patches by BLISS. I love this brand and have several other products from them, but I had never tried their blemish patches until now.
These are adorable and go directly on your blemishes, using tea tree oil to help clear pores and minimize the appearance of zits. I’ve applied these to two spots, and they really do seem to work to decrease their size. Since I had acne growing up, I know how helpful these patches would have been, and I’m bummed I didn’t have them during my teenage years!
SEPHORA COLLECTION It's a Stretch Tubing Mascara - Deluxe Sample - Estimated Value $2.96
I have a favorite mascara, but I’m always down to try something new. Typically, I prefer a big, fluffy applicator wand, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I saw the small plastic wand that came with this Sephora mascara.
The formula itself was pretty good. It had long-lasting wear, didn’t clump, and gave me ample volume while keeping my lashes separated. I don’t love the small plastic wand, but it did a decent job, and I really liked the overall look and staying power this formula provided.
E.L.F. SKIN Thirst Burst Lip Treatment in Sheer Guava - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $8.00
The last item I received this month was a full-size product—and the one I picked! I love a good lip gloss, and this pretty, sheer color was exactly what I wanted heading into fall. I’m back at school now, and while I appreciate long-lasting lipsticks, sometimes I just don’t have time to check throughout the day to make sure they still look okay.
This E.L.F. Skin Thirst Burst Treatment smells (and tastes!) delicious and looks great on. It has a thicker formula, so it feels slightly plumping while also hydrating my lips and adding a pretty pink gloss. While it looks great for daytime wear, it can also be applied more thickly at night to use as an intense overnight lip mask. I love it!
I’ve been using my IPSY products and couldn’t be happier! I’m loving all of the skin care products this month and really appreciated the makeup additions, too. This subscription is seriously the best!
Verdict
I love the IPSY Original subscription and always look forward to trying new beauty products. While I definitely have my go-to brands, I’m always excited for the chance to discover something new. This month, I received five fun items that truly elevated my skincare routine and makeup game! I genuinely loved every product and was thoroughly impressed.
For just $15, I received five items, two of which were full-size, which is always a great bonus! I’ve used every item multiple times and have been really impressed with the quality of each product and the brands included. Overall, I’m seriously obsessed with this curation, but I’m already looking forward to seeing what’s in store for the October curation. What do you think it will include?
