This one genuinely surprised me, and in the best way. Lotions on the face are usually a hard pass for me — they tend to sit on the surface and feel heavier than I want, especially in the warmer months. This one is different. It starts as a lotion-gel and melts almost immediately into a lightweight, water-like finish. No heaviness, no lingering scent. The star ingredient here is PDRN — Polydeoxyribonucleotide — a skin-regenerating compound derived from salmon DNA that helps with tissue repair, hydration, and overall skin resilience. It sounds intense, but it's actually a very skin-compatible ingredient with a lot of clinical backing. Combined with collagen to support firmness, this is a genuinely thoughtful formula. And at 120ml, this bottle is huge; I'll absolutely be moving it to my body once I'm done with my face.
Procalm Fusimedi Repair Cream 50ml — Retail Value $12
I've reached for this one before, specifically post-treatment when my skin needed something gentle and restorative. Repair creams like this are built to do one thing really well: calm and rebuild a compromised skin barrier without adding any stress. If you have dry or reactive skin, or if you went a little overboard with sun exposure this summer, this is the kind of cream your skin is asking for. The timing of including this in an August box feels genuinely intentional, and I appreciate it.
Holika Holika Daily Fresh Citron Cleansing Foam 150ml — Retail Value $3.10
A classic, no-frills drugstore cleanser. Nothing groundbreaking here, but it does exactly what it promises. Because it's a foaming formula, it can run on the stripping side, so I'd keep this one away from dry skin types and save it for your PM routine when you really need to cut through makeup and sunscreen. It lathers well, rinses clean, and leaves nothing behind, including scent. Solid basics, not a star.
Nineless A-Control Azelaic Acid Toner Mini 30ml — Retail Value $3.60
I'm pretty sure we received this as a full-size at some point, but I'm always happy to see it again. Azelaic acid is genuinely one of the most underrated actives in skincare; it's anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and especially effective at calming the red, angry kind of acne without the irritation that comes with stronger acids. It also helps fade post-acne marks over time, which makes it a two-in-one for acne-prone skin. This toner layers beautifully under everything else and absorbs without any tackiness. I actually converted my bottle into a spray because I love it that much. The mini is a great way to try it if you haven't yet.
Tia'm Glow 333 Capsule Cream Mini 10ml — Retail Value $3.10
Another familiar face in mini form. At 10ml, you're not going to see dramatic skin transformation from this one but it's a decent everyday moisturizer and the niacinamide in the formula does help keep oil production in check, which makes it a nice AM option for oily skin types. A good basics pick, just not an exciting one.
Skinfood Sous Vide Mask Sheet in Kale — Retail Value $0.98
I love this line of sheet masks but mine was noticeably dry in patches, which is genuinely disappointing for a mask that's supposed to be drenched in serum. It's not a formula issue, probably just a quality control miss, but it did affect the experience. When these are fully saturated they're great, so fingers crossed yours fares better.
Elizavecca Hyaluronic Acid Water Deep Power Ringer Mask — Retail Value $2.05
An Elizavecca mask is always a reliable call. The fit isn't the most precise out of the box, but a few strategic cuts around the nose, chin, and sides takes care of that quickly and then it stays put and does its job beautifully. Hyaluronic acid works by drawing water into the skin and holding it there, making this a great go-to for a hydration boost on days when you're keeping the rest of your routine simple. A dependable staple.

The concept was there... a post-summer reset focused on repair and hydration actually makes sense for this time of year. But the execution felt a little phoned in. The total value barely clears the cost, which doesn't make a strong case for itself. The products aren't bad, but they're not exciting either, and the box didn't even come with its usual stickers and branding, which kind of said it all. It felt like an afterthought. Hoping the fall lineup brings more intention to the curation.
