If last month was all about color, this month is the muted, calm friend, and honestly, it's more my speed. This bag is more aligned with what I'd actually buy for myself, which made it that much more fun to dig into. Small and dainty, but it really does have everything you need for a put-together makeup look.
So Susan Color Curate is a monthly makeup subscription service that sends four full-sized beauty items in a makeup bag for $20.95 a month. All products are 100% cruelty-free, vegan, and paraben-free!

What’s Inside
So Susan Cosmetics Lumipeche – Retail Value $45
Shade: Rosette
I'll be upfront, I'm not usually a blush palette person, and these shades aren't ones I'd reach for as blush. But they could easily pull double duty as eyeshadows, which saves them for me. The pigment is bright without being overwhelming, and there's virtually no fallout, so at least the application is low-stress. Not a hero product for me personally, but a solid travel addition given how compact it is.
Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Liptensity Hydrating Lip Gloss – Retail Value $19.95
Shade: Intensity
A vibrant red lip gloss? I'm always in. But this one is thick, like, thicker than I was expecting. I understand the logic: a denser formula helps lock in that rich color and gives you more staying power. In practice though, it felt a little heavy to apply, and you really do need to give it a minute to settle before doing anything else, otherwise things get messy fast. That said, the color itself is stunning, with that deep, classic red that's genuinely hard to find in a gloss. Worth the patience if red is your thing.
Kaleido Cosmetics Ultra Fine Pearl Illuminator – Retail Value $9
Shade: Celestial
This is where the bag really won me over. Finding an illuminator that doesn't read as straight-up glitter is genuinely hard. I feel like most of them are just too much. But this one is different. The ultra-fine pearl formula blends almost seamlessly into the skin, leaving behind this subtle, glossy-looking shimmer that feels really modern and skin-like. Natural, effortless, obsessed.
Trifle Tea & Cakes Highly Pigmented Eyeshadow Palette – Retail Value $18
Shade: Sencha
After how pigmented the Trifle palette was last month, I came in with high expectations, and these are more wearable, everyday shades, which I actually love. The intensity isn't quite as punchy as the April palette, but that's not necessarily a bad thing; it makes them easier to layer and build, which works in their favor for daily wear. Virtually no fallout, and they apply beautifully with either fingers or a brush. Great travel palette too, given how compact it is.
Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $20.95
Retail Value: $103.95
Every little bit. This is hands down the most value-worthy bag I've gotten in a hot minute, and not just because of the numbers. There's no filler here. Every product works together, and honestly, add a foundation, and you've got a full travel glam bag. The illuminator is my personal favorite; that glossy, skin-like finish is everything. And I'm not giving up on the lip gloss; I'm already thinking about ways to apply it more lightly so it wears more comfortably. This one's an easy 9/10 for me.
