And I’m back with a few new pieces to review, although this round feels a bit quieter than usual. I spent some time browsing for new (or new-to-me) styles, but the selection still feels a little limited right now. I spotted a few new pieces, including Maje, Equipment and FarmRio, but I still don't understand why they're purposely hiding their new arrivals.
Because of that, I ended up re-renting a few familiar pieces. One of them is the olive-green Maje dress I wore over the holidays, this time in sky blue. I’ve also brought back a couple of items that I know work well, either to fill gaps in my closet or just to make getting dressed a little easier.
And if I’m being honest… there are a few pieces I’ve held onto a bit longer than planned. Sometimes it’s hard to send something back when it’s still doing its job. However, I have been renting from them since 2021, so I've probably gone through half their stock by now, which leaves me with less to rent.
WHAT I’M WEARING THIS WEEK: Armoire
Welcome back to What I'm Wearing This Week: Armoire. For the newbies, each Friday on WIWTW I'll recap the clothing rentals I wore for the week. I’ll take you on a trip through my life, where I’m going, what’s missing in my closet, my current obsessions, what I’m excited to try, and maybe even buy. We’ll explore designers and trends, and a variety of styles and brands. And each week I’ll fill you in on why I chose each item, the total value of the rental compared to the retail price.
Armoire, which is a clothing rental company for women, is all about female empowerment. From the hand-selected and curated inventory of styles that are designed by the Boss Lady, for the Boss Lady, to their involvement with female-powered brands, and their partnership with Dress for Success Seattle, they’re a brand built for today’s woman.

WHAT I RECEIVED
All four items by Avec Les Filles, Altuzarra, and Derek Lam 10 Crosby arrived fresh from the dry cleaner, neatly folded, and sealed in a shipping bag.
Avec Les Filles Broderie Anglaise Eyelet Shirt Dress, Retail Value $168. Armoire $151
About the designer: We’re AVEC LES FILLES, or “With the Girls”, en français. We launched in 2017 with a mission to offer trend-driven fashion that is distinctive and personal, yet versatile and accessible.
RETRO ★ STREET ★ RUNWAY
Our aesthetic style is based on three pillars: retro details, street influence, and runway inspiration. We are sure to have something that speaks to your authentic style. We are the culmination of “je ne sais quoi” style that Parisians innately possess. Born in LA, living in NYC, and inspired by Parisian chic, we were made for the world. We’re constantly evolving to fit your lifestyle, but we’ll always remain true to our values.
Why I rented it: Why not? It's the perfect dress for spring!
How I styled it: I paired this sweet dress with the Marques Almeida denim jacket, the Louis Vuitton Capucines, and Marni colorblocked sandals.
Size and fit: When I ordered the dress, I debated getting the 6 or 8 due to my recent weight gain. Well, I stuck with the 6, and I'm glad I did because it runs big.
Crafted in ice-blue cotton with eyelet lace embroidery, this breathable cotton shirtdress features elasticated cuffs, puff sleeves, lace trim, and a detachable belt for a touch of whimsy.
Condition: Brand new with tags.
Honest review: Super cute. Perfect for spring. Lovely design. I used my $100 credit and bought it! And if you're looking for a sweet, feminine summer dress, I highly recommend ALF. Beautiful designs that won't break the bank!
Altuzarra Lydia Wrap Shirtdress, Retail Value $1,395, Armoire $488
About the designer: Joseph Altuzarra was born in 1983 and raised in Paris by a Chinese American mother and French father. His multicultural upbringing and interest in everything from film to literature and art are key influences throughout his work.
Since the launch of Altuzarra in 2008, Joseph has received numerous accolades for his work, from inclusion in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 and Business of Fashion’s BoF500 to the Swarovski Award for Womenswear Design.
In 2014, Joseph was named by the Council of Fashion Designers America as the Womenswear Designer of the Year and, in 2017, the Accessories Council’s Designer of the Year.
Why I rented it: This dress looks like the kind of piece you reach for when you want to look effortlessly pulled together.
How I styled it: I leaned into the contrast. Aquazurra tie-wrap pumps to keep it polished, the Valentino Rockstud tote for a little workday essential, Alexis Bittar jewelry for shine… and then a Gucci studded leather jacket, because nothing ruins a perfect look quite like a little edge.
Size & fit: The Lydia relaxed midi dress does exactly what it promises: it's relaxed, but intentional. Crisp cotton, subtle pinstripes, pockets, and an elastic waist with a self-tie belt that lets you decide how defined you want the moment to be.
The plunging collared neckline slips just slightly off the shoulders. I ordered a medium, and it runs a bit oversized.
Condition: Brand new with tags.
Honest review: Timeless, elegant, and just undone enough to feel modern. It’s the kind of dress that doesn’t chase trends. And I can’t help but think, this is exactly what Audrey Hepburn would have worn if she ever traded Breakfast at Tiffany’s for a quick espresso in SoHo. ☕
Altuzarra Danielle Eyelet Dress, Retail Value $1,695, Armoire $593
Why I rented it: This dress looks like summertime in garment form… light, pretty, and just structured enough to suggest I might have my life together.
How I styled it: In theory? Effortless, feminine, maybe a little garden party meets city girl.
Size & fit: On paper, the Danielle dress is a dream. Crisp cotton, delicate eyelet puff sleeves, a scalloped hem that feels almost too pretty for everyday life. But dreams, as it turns out, don’t always account for hips.
I skipped the reviews (rookie mistake), only to discover this dress runs very small. And not in a forgiving, “it’ll stretch” kind of way… more like a firm, unapologetic no.
Condition: Brand new with tags.
Honest review: It’s a beautiful dress. Truly. But at this point, Altuzarra and I might need to have a conversation about expectations… because this is the second time we’ve had this exact issue. Or maybe I need to go on a crash diet.
Derek Lam 10 Crosby Flutter Sleeve Dress, Retail Value $115, Armoire $104
About the designer: 10 Crosby is the lifestyle brand that makes refined, timeless looks for every occasion. With wardrobe-defining statement pieces made for a casual world, our designs are equal parts substance and style. Named after the original flagship store in downtown Manhattan, the eclectic New York brand creates effortless chic for women everywhere. Lam is an American designer who grew up in San Francisco and launched his eponymous brand in 2003. Designing with classic femininity for every part of life is at the heart of our mission.
Why I rented it: I needed one more piece to round out my shipment, and then there it was in that standout color.
How I styled it: This became my throw-on-and-go uniform for days when I wanted to look like I had plans… even if those plans were just errands and an overpriced latte. Most of the time, I kept it casual, but it did make a cameo at the office with a distressed denim jacket, Ferragamo sandals, and my Balenciaga Graffiti bag, because even a quiet outfit deserves a little chaos.
Size and fit: It runs just slightly small, like it’s holding you to a higher standard. I could button it, but there was a hint of tension and a subtle gap that required a little negotiating (and a few minutes of strategic stretching).
Condition: Very good.
Honest review: I wanted to love it more than I did. The color is undeniable, but the fabric wrinkles if you so much as look at it wrong, and the silhouette feels like it’s lingering in a past season. Not outdated exactly… just not entirely now.
DID THEY DELIVER?
- What items were most helpful and versatile to own this week to ensure I got the most out of my rental and completed the look I craved? The striped Altuzarra and Avec Les Filles dresses are great!
- Did they meet or exceed expectations? Met expectations.
- What’s the return process like? Place the items in the bag, seal it up, and that's it!
FINAL THOUGHTS
Since I wrote this post on Easter, let’s talk bunnies.
If you purchased a bunny for yourself, your child, or your grandchild, please do not release it into the woods once you realize the destruction, cost, and time commitment involved. Rabbits are not starter pets, they are not for kids, and they are not meant to survive on their own.
Last week, I rushed to Reston, VA before work (at 6:00 AM) after seeing reports of an abandoned bunny across from the town center. I brought towels, bananas, carrots, hay, and a pet carrier, hoping I could catch it. I left food around the bushes of the apartment complex and came back after work to check. Nothing had been touched, and I had no luck. The area is large, and realistically, it would take a coordinated effort to find and safely catch the bunny.
Residents had been posting about it for three weeks in a local Facebook group, but no one had contacted a rescue or attempted to intervene in a meaningful way. I reached out to local organizations, including House Rabbit Society, Friends of Rabbits, and Fairfax Animal Rescue. Two of the three confirmed they would send out teams to search.
Because the bunny has already been outside for weeks, it may have found a hiding spot for now—but it won’t last much longer out there. I really hope they’re able to find and save it.
This situation is especially personal for me. Dolce was a rescue from a large hoarding case in Baltimore. He was found living under a car in a parking lot during the peak of summer. I don’t know everything he went through, but the trauma is still very real.
I can’t stress this enough: domestic rabbits do not belong outside. Whether it’s an angora, a lop, or a lionhead, these are not wild animals. They cannot fend for themselves in the woods or even in a neighborhood setting. If you spot a rabbit in the wild and it doesn't look like one of your local wild breeds (cottontails are the most common wild rabbits in the DMV), do not wonder if it's wild or domestic. If it looks different from the others, it is more than likely domestic. In that case, please call your local shelters or rabbit non-profits and have them come out and look for the bunny immediately.
If you can no longer care for a rabbit, please take it to a shelter or a rescue. There are people and organizations equipped to help. Releasing it outside is not giving it freedom—it’s putting it in danger and eventually a hawk, fox, or a car will permanently remove it from the earth.
Rant over. Here are recent pictures of my tiny terrors.
VALUE BREAKDOWN: The Unlimited membership costs $249/month and so far, I've received styles with a retail value of $166,487!
