Ipsy Extra “Do Less, Glow More” Review – March 2026

IPSY Told Me to Do Less. I Expected More.

The inspiration for this box was to help us find our light again with nourishing skincare, warm, earthy tones, and simple moments to stay grounded. Whether the box delivered on that promise, that’s a story for the rest of the review, so scroll down.

IPSY Extra is a $32 monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. It always provides great value compared to the cost of the box and includes 5 beauty items, including nail care, skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance, and more. (At least 4 of those items will be full-sized.) If you are a makeup or skincare addict, we recommend this box!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

What’s Inside

Lilly Lashes All The Fills 3D Brow Tinted Fiber Gel – Retail Value: $18

Color: Dark Brown

The "3D fiber gel" pitch got me, but the execution didn't. There's essentially zero control over how much product you deposit, which means you're stuck with thick, heavily filled brows whether you want them or not. If you love a bold, fluffy brow, maybe, but if you prefer anything natural or defined, skip it. Also worth noting: Lilly Lashes built its name on falsies, so brow products aren't really its lane yet. It shows.

Repurchase Power? No.

Moonslice Beauty Blushing Moon Blush Palette – Retail Value: $20

The palette photographs beautifully, so I get the appeal. In practice: major fallout, shades that don't translate on deeper skin tones, and a finish that reads flat despite being marketed as shimmer. Moonslice Beauty is a newer indie brand, so there's room to grow, but this formula isn't there yet. IPSY's blush palette picks have been hit or miss lately, and this is firmly a miss.

Repurchase Power? No.

Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil – Retail Value: $26

Color: Blush Dreams

The formula is genuinely impressive, sitting right at the intersection of lip oil, gloss, and balm. Comfortable, non-sticky, actually nourishing. Summer Fridays has built a loyal following for good reason (their Jet Lag Mask is a cult classic), and this shows the same thoughtfulness. The issue is the shade range, which is almost entirely rose-toned, which won't work for everyone. If Blush Dreams suits your complexion, it's a keeper. If not, hold out and hope they expand. The formula is worth it when the shade is right.

Repurchase Power? Yes.

Cela Glacier Clay Mask – Retail Value: $40

This one surprised me in the best way. Cela is a dermatologist-developed Canadian skincare brand, and it comes through here. The mask is unusually thin and runny for a clay product, which sounds weird but actually makes it easy to apply in a quick, even layer. Sets fast and rinses clean. One key tip: don't let it dry completely. Remove it once it starts to set, but before you see any cracking — fully dried clay starts pulling moisture back out of your skin instead of drawing out impurities, which defeats the whole point.

Repurchase Power? Probably.

Bareminerals Dewy Lip Gloss-Balm – Retail Value: $25 – Beauty Boost Pick

Color: Strength (Soft Red)

Sheer tint, glossy finish, balm-level hydration. Non-greasy, comfortable, great for a no-makeup makeup moment. Bareminerals is a reliable, established brand, so no surprises here, which is both the upside and the downside. This is a solid product, but you can genuinely find a dupe for less (Laneige, Fenty, and even some drugstore picks do this just as well). At $25, you're mostly paying for the name.

Repurchase Power? Yes, but you can get this for less.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $32 + $15 Beauty Boost = $47

Total Value: $129

Takeaways

Nothing here made me want to text a friend or immediately reorder. The clay mask is the real standout, genuinely a nice find, and the Summer Fridays lip oil formula is excellent if the shade works for you. Everything else lands somewhere between disappointing and just fine.

March wasn't IPSY's month. Here's hoping April brings something worth talking about.
