Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that sends samples (and sometimes full sizes) of new and exciting beauty products from top brands. Despite being out of the game for a minute, the subscription is back! Birchbox is one of the original beauty subscription boxes and is a great way to discover new makeup, hair care, and skincare products (four to six items every month) without breaking the bank.
This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box — the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Ipsy, Birchbox sends out many different variations of their bag each month — so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).

What's Inside
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream, 0.25 fl oz - Estimated Retail Value $4.15
This face cream is iconic, but I'd never gotten my hands on it until now. Everyone says that Kiehl's delivers what it promises: serious, long-lasting hydration without heaviness. And yes, the texture is creamy yet surprisingly lightweight—gliding on smooth and absorbing quickly without leaving a greasy finish. It’s fragrance-free, so there’s no overt scent, just a clean, neutral skin feel (especially great if you’re sensitive to perfumes). Formulated with squalane and hydrating glycoproteins, it’s designed to strengthen your skin’s moisture barrier and keep skin soft and supple. Reviews consistently praise its nourishing hydration and makeup-friendly feel, though a few note it can feel rich on very oily skin. I can definitely see myself stocking up on a larger jar after trying this cute little sample.
Formula 10.0.6 Overnight Success Soothing Spot Patches, 7 sachets - Retail Value $7.99
Where were pimple patches when I was a teenager? Kids these days have made skincare so fashionable that they'll wear those little stars to heal their blemishes out in public. I'm so here for that. These tiny spot patches are super simple: clear, smooth dots you stick right onto blemishes before bed. They have tea tree and grape seed extracts, but they're scentless. They’re designed to calm and reduce the look of pimples overnight, holding active ingredients like salicylic acid against the spot while you sleep. Texture-wise they’re only mildly sticky but stay put well on your skin. I always get a pesky pimple on my chin when my period's on its way, so I will be holding these close for when it makes its regular appearance. Considering that's going to be my main use this box is like a lifetime supply!
r.e.m. beauty At the Borderline Kohl Eyeliner Pencil, 0.50 g - Retail Value $17.00
I've never used a kohl eye pencil before but I've always been taken by how matte it looks. This one is a rich, deep black with noticeable pigment payoff. It’s marketed as long-wearing and waterproof, and oh my gosh yes, that's accurate. I scrubbed it with soap, water, and ultimately a scouring sponge, and even then it didn't fully come off. Do you all have a magical makeup remover that I have yet to encounter for your kohl eyeliners? Maybe oil? They stuff ain't goin' anywhere for a day of work or on a night out.

The texture surprised me—it's pretty high-friction, which you can probably tell from my arm swatch. I think it will take a careful hand and potentially short strokes to have it line my eye smoothly. I haven't had the guts yet to try it on my eyes, because it's so hard to get back off!
r.e.m. beauty Midnight Shadows Multi-Use Eye Stick, 0.8 g - Retail Value $18.00
Totally opposite experience with this eye stick; it's nice and creamy. The Lunar Eclipse shade delivers a warm, rich wash of color that’s super smooth to apply—probably perfect for quick, blended lids or soft definition, but I'll most likely just use it as eyeliner. The stick glides on without pulling, and its blendable formula builds easily from a subtle wash to a deeper, more dramatic look.

I recently had a color analysis appointment, and I've found I'm an Autumn—hooray! These are all the colors I'm drawn to anyway! One valuable bit of information I stepped away with is that browns flatter my skin tone more than blacks do. The consultant recommended I use brown as my default base color. So I'm really living for this warm brown eye stick and I think I'll probably use it constantly.
The Verdict
I loved getting to try a slew of new-to-me products in this month's Birchbox. Finally trying the Kiehl's face cream was a treat. Having pimple patches of my very own is so helpful. And while the kohl eyeliner pencil isn't going to work for me, now I know what it's all about and can move on. The brown mutli-use eye stick, however, is a dream! Great box all-around.
