Medusa's Make-Up Beauty Box is a vegan and cruelty-free makeup subscription box from the popular indie brand of the same name. Each month you'll receive a box of 3-5 vegan beauty products for just $25.95 with free shipping, with a total value of around $40. The shades and colors are always unique and the packaging is super fun!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The January 2026 Box

As a long-time beauty enthusiast and subscription box reviewer, I've tried just about every make-up box out there. Medusa’s Make-Up, though, has steadily carved out a special spot in my rotation. When I first got the chance to review one of their boxes, I was curious, and now, several months (and many fun looks) later, I’m fully hooked. Each delivery brings something bold, cruelty-free, and totally unique. So, what’s inside January's box? Let’s dive in and see what this month has to offer!

Wrapped in a beautiful pink foil mailer, it was love at first sight! I was so excited to find this in my mailbox—I actually jumped for joy. This month, my products arrived safely, with most items neatly contained in the reusable pouch and one item wrapped in bubble wrap. Everything was securely packaged and arrived in perfect condition.

Now, let’s dig in and see what I received!

Kicking things off, we have an info card that lists everything included in the box along with the retail values. I’m really digging the content card this month! Not only is the front cute, but the back breaks down each included item and its retail value. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Eye Dust - Brown Sugar - Retail Value $12.00

I love a good loose powder eye dust, but I was surprised by the name of this version, as I expected a more natural brown tone rather than the red shade it turned out to be. Highly pigmented, it’s a gorgeous color, though I applied it lightly in my crease to maintain a neutral, work-appropriate look. It blends out quite well and pairs nicely with my brown shadow for a neutral yet sparkly finish. It also has good staying power and was easy to apply. While I do find these eye dusts a bit messy to work with, I appreciate their quality and wouldn’t mind seeing more colors included in future boxes.

Lip Oil - Listed Value $10.00

The next item I received was a lip oil. I had a little whoopsie and photographed it over the lippie I received, so it appears pigmented here, but it’s mostly just shiny. As a hydrating oil, it applies easily to the lips and adds a fun touch of shine to natural lips or layered over lipstick.

Hand Lotion – Listed Value $6.00

It’s the middle of winter, and I’ll take all the hand lotion I can get. My hands are so incredibly dry right now that they’re cracking—even with multiple tubes of lotion stashed everywhere. That said, I’ve added this one to my pocket to help stay on top of the dryness. With a light lemon scent, I really enjoyed both the formula and the size. My hands are finally starting to feel and look better!

Rose Face Makeup (Assorted) - Listed Value $12.00

The next item I received was this fun pan of face makeup. From Shcoety Cosmetics, this 1# pan features a rose design and is simply lovely to look at. With a metallic platinum shade, it doesn’t deliver a super intense color payoff unless you apply it with a heavier hand. It’s great for creating highlights, brightening the inner corners of my eyes, or sweeping across the lids. Overall, this pretty makeup is versatile and fun to use!

Punk Styl Lippe - Listed Value $10.00

I have to say, I was super excited to see the color of the next included item! I love a good lipstick, and this one came in a beautiful burgundy shade. Matte in finish, it complemented my skin tone well, but unfortunately, it smelled—and tasted—terrible. I was definitely bummed, because it had great longevity, but I just couldn’t get past the strong floral scent.

Spa Headband - Listed Value $8.00

The last item I received was a spa headband. I’ll be honest—I already have a few of these at home and use them to keep my bangs out of the way while doing face masks, so I didn’t really need one with little ball “ears.” That said, it’s plush in texture and cute in color, making it a fun inclusion that my niece absolutely loved.

The Verdict

This month’s curation from Medusa’s Make-Up was an interesting mix, with its ups and downs. I really enjoyed the eye dust, rose makeup, lotion, and lip oil, but I wish the lipstick didn’t have such a strong odor. I was happy to receive all six items and felt the curation was decent overall, though next month I’d really love to see some glitter included.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You'll likely receive the February box. Some past boxes are also available for a one-time purchase here.

Value Breakdown: I estimate I received $58.00 worth of items this month with these six items. This is more than double the cost of the box! That's a good value for $25.95.
