Medusa's Make-Up Beauty Box is a vegan and cruelty-free makeup subscription box from the popular indie brand of the same name. Each month you'll receive a box of 3-5 vegan beauty products for just $25.95 with free shipping, with a total value of around $40. The shades and colors are always unique and the packaging is super fun!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The December 2025 Box

As a long-time beauty enthusiast and subscription box reviewer, I've tried just about every make-up box out there. Medusa’s Make-Up, though, has steadily carved out a special spot in my rotation. When I first got the chance to review one of their boxes, I was curious, and now, several months (and many fun looks) later, I’m fully hooked. Each delivery brings something bold, cruelty-free, and totally unique. So, what’s inside December's box? Let’s dive in and see what this month has to offer!

Wrapped in a beautiful pink foil mailer, it was love at first sight! I was so excited to find this in my mailbox—I actually jumped for joy. This month, my products arrived safely, carefully wrapped in bubble wrap. Everything was securely packaged and arrived in perfect condition.

Now, let’s dig in and see what I received!

Kicking things off, we have an info card that lists everything included in the box, along with the retail values. Stocking stuffers, anyone? This bright pink card is not only my favorite color, but it also features a fuzzy pink stocking—perfect for the December theme! Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

K'APEINE 9 Color Nudes Eyeshadow Palette - Retail Value $7.99

I’m a sucker for a good eyeshadow palette—especially when it features nude, brown, and sparkly tones! This nine-shade kit offers a fun mix of matte, shimmer, and metallic shadows, and the formulas are very buildable. A few shades do look a bit similar, but I really enjoyed the variety of textures and tones. I can definitely see myself using this one on a daily basis!

Shades of brown are definitely my go-to, and this palette helped me create a really fun smoky eye. I loved the metallic shades, and the formula blended beautifully and was very buildable. Overall, I’m a big fan!

MOROVAN Nail Polish - Listed Value $8.00

The next item I received was another product not exclusive to Medusa’s Beauty Box. I wasn’t familiar with the Morovan brand, but after a quick Google search, I discovered that this professional nail polish line has great reviews and is widely available. Even though I’m in desperate need of a manicure, I went ahead and painted my nails with this lovely Grinch-green shade and was really impressed with the formula.

The photo shows my nails after just one coat, and after applying a second, the polish dried evenly with a bright, vibrant color payoff. I also found that it lasted significantly longer than any other regular nail polish I’ve tried. I already have a few more shades from this brand on my Christmas list! Since gel polish pretty much ruined my toenails, I’ve switched back to regular formulas—and this one is amazing.

MEDUSA'S Lipstick - Muddy Waters – Listed Value $14.00

The next item I received was a satin lipstick. I’ve gotten versions of this formula in the past and really enjoyed the colors, but this “Muddy Waters” shade just wasn’t for me. With a deep brownish-burgundy hue, it didn’t adhere to my lips as well as I would have liked, and the color didn’t mesh well with my skin tone. While I do like the packaging and the satin finish, this one will be going into my donation pile.

I’m not sure what was going on with this lipstick, but it just didn’t apply well. The color didn’t complement my skin tone, and I probably should have used a lip liner because the edges applied cakey. Overall, it just didn’t look great.

Shcoety Eyeliner/ Eyeshadow- Listed Value $12.00

I have to admit, I was a little surprised that this month we only received one Medusa’s Makeup–branded item—and that was the lipstick. The next product I opened was an eyeliner/eyeshadow stick. The color was fine and paired nicely with the included eyeshadow palette, but overall it felt a bit underwhelming. I did use it to help create the smoky eye, but I could have achieved the same results using the palette alone.

Mini Lip Gloss - Listed Value $6.00

The next item I received was actually a repeat. I got this lip gloss back in February, and while I did enjoy it, I wasn’t quite ready for another one. It applies nicely but feels more like a lip oil than a gloss, which means it needs to be reapplied frequently. I just wish we had received something new this month.

While it looks very red in the tube, it shows up more as a soft pink in person. As I mentioned above, it’s fine to keep in my pocket for a quick pop of color, but it’s a repeat—and it needs to be applied frequently.

While not every product was a standout this month, I definitely enjoyed a few of them! The palette and liner helped elevate my festive Christmas-red look, and my Grinch-green nails were pretty sensational too!

The Verdict

This month’s curation from Medusa’s Make-Up was an interesting mix, though I didn’t feel it captured the Christmas season all that well. Typically, we receive mostly exclusive branded makeup, but this month there was only one Medusa’s Make-Up item. Another item was a repeat from 10 months ago, and the lipstick formula just seemed off. That being said, I know I won’t love every product all the time—I just wish there had been something a little more seasonal. Of all the items I received, the palette and nail polish were my favorites, though I also enjoyed the eyeliner pencil. What did you think of this month’s curation? Which item was your favorite? To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You'll likely receive the January box. Some past boxes are also available for a one-time purchase here.

Value Breakdown: I estimate I received $48.00 worth of items this month with these five items. This is almost double the cost of the box! That's a good value for $25.95.
