Beauty Heroes is a clean beauty subscription box that focuses on non-toxic ingredients for $58.95/month. Each month they send you one new full-sized “hero” product in the face, body, hair, or sun care category accompanied by "deluxe sidekicks."

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

The monthly Beauty Heroes delivery comes in a white box with a red-dotted sticker sealing it. Inside, our products of the month fit perfectly with the brown crinkle paper needed for it to arrive safely.

REVERIE is a California-born haircare brand created by renowned stylist Garrett Markenson, built on the idea that haircare should be effortless yet exceptionally effective. Each product is made in small batches with a skincare-inspired approach, pairing innovative science with ethically sourced vegan botanicals to support all hair types and textures. With sustainable packaging and partnerships with family-run organic and Fair Trade farms, REVERIE turns everyday haircare into a clean, mindful ritual that’s good for people and planet.

Hopefully you've kept your ACTIVIST products from last month closeby, because here Beauty Heroes suggests a full-body ritual, combining them with this month's delivery.

The Products

REVERIE Anti-Frizz Leave-In Nourishing Treatment, 100 ml - Retail Value $44

I was intrigued by this "skincare approach to haircare" concept, but once I got my hands on the products in this box, it clicked. Instead of products that just make hair look smooth or shiny for a day, this approach uses ingredients like amino acids, proteins, and plant extracts to actually strengthen, moisturize, and protect hair and scalp the way a serum or moisturizer would for skin. The scent is botanical—I sense some sandalwood and vanilla in it; warmth, unisex appeal. The texture is creamy and not at all oily or heavy.

I wasn't so sure the products in this box would be for me, because my light, thin hair is quick to oil and easily bogged down by product. But it came to me at a time when I started to be honest with myself that the gentle waves my hair used to have are gone. And so I may as well blow dry it straight to pull as much body out of it as I can. When I was air drying it most days, I put an ever-so-light amount of product in and tried not to jinx it. This cream actually leaves my hair touchably soft with such a smooth-but-not-flat finish, and unlike most anti-frizz products, it’s completely buildable, so you can use a little or layer more depending on your hair’s needs. I didn’t realize a leave-in could do this much heavy lifting (or work at all for me), but now it’s one of those products I now reach for automatically.

REVERIE Cake Restorative Scalp Tonic, 50 ml - Retail Value $72

I’ll admit, the idea of a scalp tonic wasn’t something I ever thought I needed. I’ve always focused on the lengths of my hair and just assumed my scalp would take care of itself. But this tonic really surprised me. First of all, it's extremely refreshing-feeling on the scalp. But also, it’s not about coating hair with something to keep it cute for a night out. It's about hair health from the root. The scent is soft and herbal, almost spa-like, and it disappears quickly in that really clean, minimal way.

Texture-wise, it’s more of a watery serum, so again, no oiliness, no weight, nothing that interferes with styling. Cake absorbs instantly...like my scalp actually drinks it in, and there’s zero residue. The pipette makes it easy to apply exactly where you need it (for me, that’s around my hairline and crown), and massaging it in feels borderline therapeutic. Love this stuff.

REVERIE Ever Recovery Hair Oil, 50 ml - Retail Value $52

When I read that this oil is featherlight and non-greasy, I wanted to believe it, especially because the other two products we were sent from this brand are so trustworthy. But I also immediately filed it under “try on a day I’m not leaving the house in case things get out of hand.” If I’m borrowing wisdom from the skincare world (and that seems to be the theme with this whole line), adding the right oil should regulate oil, not make it worse, but also that takes time.

What I can say already is that the formula is thoughtful rather than heavy-handed. Marula brings that lush moisture and shine without the thickness of something like argan, crambe oil supports elasticity so hair bends instead of breaks, and squalane is all about lightweight hydration and barrier support. This product that can be a heat-protective styling aid, an overnight mask, or even a pre-shampoo treatment layered under conditioner for extra softness.

To play it safe I have only tried this oil in the shower before shampooing. I love product that give me an excuse to hang out in the shower for a few extra minutes while they work their magic. I can't say for sure that that's going to be sustainable for me. But if Cake helped me think of my scalp like skin that needs to be cared for, and Milk became the leave-in I didn’t know I needed, I have a hunch this oil might complete the trio. So far it's light, nourishing, balancing rather than smothering, and so if I can keep up with it, my hair might actually get the hydration it’s been missing without sacrificing volume or longevity. I mean, that would be amazing. Early resolution, maybe?

Verdict

Milk, Cake, and Ever are each beautifully crafted in their own right, but together they create a complete ritual: Milk softens and smooths for touchable, frizz-free lengths, Cake brings balance and comfort to the scalp, and Ever delivers deep nourishment and shine without the weight. Beauty Heroes brought it for the last box of the year. The box costs $58.95, and the trio retails for $168—an incredible value from a brand that continues to push haircare forward in a thoughtful, elevated, skincare-inspired way. I also love that these products are luxe but affordable enough to replenish without overthinking it.
