First Impressions
One of my favorite things about the IPSY Orignal is the excitement of discovering each month’s new bag design. I’ve been a subscriber for years, and the fun, creative styles—along with the amazing products—keep me coming back for more. To celebrate the arrival of November, we received a pouch unlike any I’ve gotten before: full faux fur! Fuzzy and tan like my favorite teddy bear, this warm and cozy bag features a purple, rectangular gem–shaped zipper pull and is over the top in the best way. With its silky purple lining, it feels especially playful for November—and it’s honestly super cute. Perfect for toting around my toiletries, it’ll definitely come in handy on our upcoming family road trip!

DR. BRANDT SKINCARE Pores No More Luminizer Primer - Deluxe Sample - Estimated Value $13.33
At 37, my skin has been a little angry lately. I’ve been dealing with some hormonal acne and shifting skin needs, so I’ve really been on the hunt for a primer that could smooth everything out. This Dr. Brandt version turned out to be a winner. The super-light tint blended seamlessly into my skin, creating a smooth base for my foundation. It has only a mild, natural scent and didn’t irritate my already temperamental skin. With its steeper price point, I was glad to try a sample first — but now that I have, I’ll definitely be buying the full-size version!
SERAPHINE BOTANICALS Carbonite Water-Resistant Velvet Eyeliner - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $25.00
If you’ve read any of my reviews, you probably know that I love black liquid eyeliner. I have my favorites, but I’m always up for trying new brands. This month, I received a full-size Seraphine Botanicals water-resistant liquid liner. I’ll be honest — the formula and color were perfect for me, but the tip wasn’t quite as flexible as I prefer. It made creating a clean cat eye a bit difficult, though that could just be because I’m not used to this style. I’m going to keep practicing, because I really like its staying power — I’m just struggling to use it correctly!
NIP + FAB Glycolic Fix Liquid Glow Exfoliating Toner Daily 2% - Deluxe Sample - Estimated Value $3.39
The next item I received was a small bottle of exfoliating toner, which turned out to be a great addition for me. As I mentioned above, my skin has been very unpredictable lately—swinging from extra greasy to dry—and this toner helped balance things out and even prevented some breakouts. I also appreciate the smaller size since it's easy to pack and you only need a little at a time. Overall, it was a great product to try and a perfect fit for what my skin needs right now!
DERMALACTIVES Purifying Gentle Facial Scrub - Deluxe Sample - Estimated Value $42.00
It’s like Ipsy knew exactly what I needed this month! I love facial scrubs, and this one was so gentle—and from one of my very favorite brands. Tiny in size but with a huge retail value, I was thrilled to try the Dermalactives Purifying Gentle Facial Scrub. With a natural scent and fine little scrubbers, the formula worked to exfoliate my skin gently. The plant-based microcrystalline cellulose helped smooth my complexion, and the non-stripping formula left my skin soft and calm. I love this stuff!
ESTATE COSMETICS Rose Rendezvous Eyeshadow Palette - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $18.00
The last item I received was another full-sized product—and the one I chose for November. I love eyeshadow, and this palette was so cute with so many fun colors I knew I’d actually use. With both mattes and shimmers, I couldn’t resist, even though I may have a bit of an eyeshadow-hoarding problem! Featuring nine shades, the palette offers beautiful pigmentation, long-lasting wear, and a buildable formula. I’ve been using it daily to create my usual smoky eye, and I love the extra shimmer it adds. Definitely another winner!
