October is here, and all our pumpkins are picked! We just had our first killing frost, which means dahlia and zinnia season is officially over. While that’s a little bittersweet, I’m ready for a bit of a reprieve—and this month’s Vellabox arrived just in time to help create calm, cozy evenings after long days of football. The October quote captured the spirit of fall perfectly and really set the tone for the season. Aromatherapy plays a big role in my relaxation routine, and after busy, hectic days, this subscription is exactly what I need. If the soft flicker of candlelight and calming scents help you unwind too, I highly recommend giving it a try. Self-care is a top priority for me, and nothing says relaxation quite like the warm glow of a candle. After a long day of school and football, I come home to rest—once all the house chores are done, of course. To mark the end of my busy day, I almost always light a candle. Nothing sets the mood quite like the soft flicker of a flame, and the clean-burning candle brands Vellabox collaborates with are second to none when it comes to melting the day’s tension away.
Because many candles contain harmful ingredients, I’ve made the switch from cheap, mass-produced options to high-quality, premium candles that are free from all those nasty chemicals. This month’s candle is made with sustainable soy wax, premium fragrance oils, and 100% cotton wicks.
The scent I received for October is Vanilla Pumpkin Roll, with notes of buttercream, vanilla, pumpkin, marshmallow, cinnamon, and caramel. It’s absolutely heavenly—a cozy, spicy, baked-good aroma that swirled throughout our entire downstairs.
Minimalist in design, the brown glass jar and simple label coordinate with any décor and perfectly reflect Vellabox’s mission. I’m absolutely loving this month’s selection and have already burned it for hours!

Each candle is hand-poured in small batches using non-toxic ingredients that are safe for both you and the planet. Made with phthalate-free fragrances, these candles are absolutely fabulous!

Ceramic Book-Shaped Bud Vase/Match Holder - Retail Value $18
This subscription is so much fun. While I obviously subscribe for the candle, the surprise item this month was just as good! One of my very favorite books is Where the Red Fern Grows, and we received a ceramic book-shaped bud vase/match holder with the playful spine title Where the Red Fern Glows—a clever nod to the Wilson Rawls novel. Featuring a lovely red foliage design, I attached the magnet and added this little piece to my fridge. Since our flowers were just taken out by the frost, I don’t have a bloom to pop in as a bud vase, but for now, I plan to use it to hold matches. It's a fun, slightly eccentric addition—and I absolutely adored it! I hope to see more surprises like this in future boxes.

Vellabox is a fabulous subscription and one I look forward to receiving each and every month. Since I burn candles almost every day, it’s important to me that they’re free of toxins and harmful ingredients. Vellabox does an excellent job of curating small brands that are not only safe to use but smell incredible too! This month’s Vanilla Pumpkin Roll scent was absolutely perfect for the changing seasons and included some of my very favorite scent notes. With the addition of the Spotify playlist and the amazing fragrance oil, my month felt complete. I already can’t wait to see what’s in store for November!
