Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. For $14 per month, you get five full-sized or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.

This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box — the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month — so this review is for just one of the bag variations you might receive!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).

First Impressions

One of my favorite things about the Ipsy Glam Bag is the excitement of discovering each month’s new design. I’ve been a subscriber for years, and the fun, creative styles—along with the amazing products—keep me coming back for more. To celebrate the arrival of October, we received a bright purple pouch adorned with one-eyed snakes and starburst eyes. Featuring touches of yellow, pastel purple, and green, this bag was a playful nod to Halloween—though it wasn’t my favorite. We actually received a similar eye-themed design a few months ago, and it just doesn’t appeal to me as much. While I would have preferred something a bit more traditional for Halloween, this bag is still bright, fun, and perfect for carrying my toiletries.

Also included is a product card featuring the "Work Your Magic" theme, details about this month's bag contents, and a sneak peek at the upcoming sneak peek highlights!

Now, on to the items!

BCBG Fragrances Essence De Vanilla Eau de Perfume - Deluxe Sample - Estimated Value $10.00

Fragrance is something I don’t purchase often because once I find one I like, I tend to stick with it. I still have a bottle of Jennifer Lopez’s Deseo and continue to appreciate its floral, woodsy scent. I also have a few bottles from Marc Jacobs and Valentino, but beyond that, my “spendy perfume” collection is pretty small. This month, I received a spritz tube of BCBG Essence de Vanille. This creamy vanilla scent is light, airy, and pleasantly sweet. I love the easy-to-use spritz mechanism and the generous amount of product—it’s perfect for everyday wear since it’s not as heavy as some of my older favorites. The fragrance lingers nicely on both skin and fabric, lasting throughout the day with a soft vanilla aroma that’s truly lovely.

Kokie Professional Big Eye-Dea Jumbo Liquid Liner - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $9.00

I’m always on the lookout for a good liquid eyeliner, and this Kokie Professional version lives up to its name. Jumbo in size, it has a larger tip than I’m used to and doesn’t have much flexibility. It took a bit of practice to create the look I wanted, but I really appreciated its lasting power and deep, pitch-black color. If this came with a slightly smaller nib, I’d be more inclined to repurchase—but who knows, by the time I finish this one, I might be a pro with the jumbo size!

Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More No More Baggage Eye Gel - Deluxe Sample - Estimated Value $10.56

Dr. Brandt is a brand I’ve become very familiar with over my years of beauty subscriptions. While I’ve tried several of their products, the No More Baggage Eye Gel was new to me. Lightweight and gel-like in texture, this product is designed to smooth and de-puff using Filmatrix technology derived from plant extracts. It creates an invisible “second-skin” effect that helps tighten and refresh the under-eye area. I’ve been applying it in the mornings and really appreciate the results. At 37, with a busy schedule, I often deal with under-eye bags—and this gel has definitely helped reduce their appearance.

E.L.F. Skin Blemish Breakthrough Stick It to Zits Pimple Patches - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $9.00

I struggled with acne quite a bit growing up, even ending up on Accutane for a very short time. Things eventually improved, but now at 37, I’m dealing with breakouts again. My pick for the month was this set of E.L.F. Skin Blemish Pimple Patches. While I’m not entirely sure how effective they are on their own, they definitely help keep my hands off my face—preventing those spots from turning into full-blown disaster zones. This is a great little set to have on hand; I’ve used them often and noticed results, whether that’s from the hydrocolloid working its magic or simply from not picking at my skin.

Queen Cosmetics Lip Liner in Bubblegum - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $20.00

The last item I received was another full-sized product! Lip liner isn’t something I use often, but I really appreciated this “bubblegum” shade and its formula. While the name made me expect a bright pink hue, the color turned out to be more of a mauve—absolutely gorgeous and perfect for fall. Infused with jojoba seed oil and shea butter, it glides on smoothly and delivers a lovely dusty rose color that holds up well throughout the day. It’s both water- and smudge-resistant, and it paired beautifully with a lip gloss to create a flawless finish. Overall, I was impressed with this liner and would definitely consider purchasing it again in another shade!

Isn’t that lip liner gorgeous? It matched my sweater perfectly! While the eyeliner was a bit thicker than I usually prefer, I’m working on perfecting my application. Overall, what a fun month of products!

Verdict

I love the Ipsy Glam Bag and always look forward to trying out new beauty products. While I have my go-to brands, I’m always excited for the chance to discover something new! This month, I received five fun items that elevated my autumn beauty routine and skincare game. I truly loved each and every product and was left thoroughly impressed! For just $14, I got to explore new skincare and makeup brands—and it felt like a mini skin makeover. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the November curation. What do you think it’ll include?
