BomiBox KBeauty Review “Season of Glow” August 2025

Was this month’s BomiBox a true glow-up or just a letdown?

This month’s Bomibox theme is all about glow made simple. The idea is fewer steps, but products that still leave you with that healthy, lit-from-within look. What stood out this time is that the box wasn’t just skincare. There were lash serums and powders too, leaning more into the “soft focus” finish than the usual glass skin effect. Let’s see how it actually measured up.

BomiBox is a monthly Korean beauty subscription box. Each month, you get eight full-sized and deluxe sample-sized Korean skincare, makeup, beauty, and body products.

This is a review of BomiBox Luxe, which is $39.99 per month.

This box was sent to us at no cost to review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Honestly, my first thought was disappointment. The box looked half empty and was mostly filled with smaller sizes instead of the full sizes we usually see. A few items felt like older stock too. Everything was a bit dusty, which didn’t set a great tone for opening it.

What’s Inside:

Cos de Baha Vitamin C Serum (30ml) – Retail Value $10

Unfortunately, I couldn’t test this one. Vitamin C serums should be clear, but mine had turned a yellow-orange shade, which means it has oxidized. That can happen if it’s been exposed to heat or light. Even though the printed expiration date says 2026, the product is no longer safe to use on the skin.

Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner (40ml) – Retail Value $4.50

We actually received this same toner in last September's box. I know it’s a favorite in the K-beauty world, but it’s never been a standout for me. I even bought the full-size to give it a fair chance and still didn’t notice much of a difference in my skin.

Etude My Lash Serum (9g) – Retail Value $6.40

I don’t think lash serums ever dramatically lengthen lashes, but this one does make them feel softer. The brush is great, and the clear gel gives my lashes a subtle, glossy look for no-mascara days. The rounded tip also works nicely for brushing through brows, so it doubles as a brow serum. No irritation or stinging either, which makes me trust Etude with sensitive-eye-friendly products.

Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder (5g) – Retail Value $7.07

This was the highlight of the box for me. It’s a cult favorite and now I see why. It isn’t a setting powder but more of a sebum-absorbing powder. It controls oil without leaving a heavy texture and gives skin a soft matte finish. I love that they included a travel size since it’s easy to keep in my bag for touch-ups.

Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner (100ml) – Retail Value $15

This toner is simple and soothing. It feels cooling when skin is irritated and hydrates lightly. It’s not life-changing, but it’s dependable.

Somebymi Real Cica Calming Care Mask (1pc) – Retail Value $1.42

This is one of those masks that’s just good to have on hand. The fit is comfortable, the serum is plentiful, and it leaves skin calm and refreshed. I always save the extra liquid in the pouch and use it under a silicone mask for another round of hydration.

Barulab The Clean Vegan Aloe Mask (1pc) – Retail Value $2.24

Another solid sheet mask. It fits well, has enough serum, and doesn’t dry out too quickly. The only downside is the price, since there are plenty of sheet masks out there for under a dollar.

Was this Box Worth It?

The Cost: $39.99

Total Retail Value: $46.63

For me, this month’s box fell short. Between the oxidized serum, the repeat toner, and so many sample sizes, it didn’t feel worth the price. Even with the higher-value items, the experience of opening it just wasn’t exciting. The Etude lash serum and Innisfree powder were the only things I truly enjoyed. Everything else felt forgettable.

I’d love to hear if you had a different experience with this month’s picks. Did anything stand out for you, or did it feel as underwhelming as it did for me?
