Bomibox KBeauty Review Sun-kissed Greens (July 2025)

A refreshing summer curation with matcha, tomato, and one SPF fail I’m still not over.

This month’s Bomibox had me hopeful. The theme “sun-kissed greens” sounded like exactly what my skin needed after a few too many days outdoors, and let’s be honest, some hormonal breakouts. The idea was soothing, skin-brightening ingredients like green tomato, cucumber, matcha, and centella, aka a calming salad for your face. I was all in.

Let’s unpack the hits, the heartbreak (looking at you, sunscreen), and what actually earned a spot in my summer routine.

Bomibox is a monthly Korean beauty subscription box. Each month, you get eight full-sized and deluxe sample-sized Korean skincare, makeup, beauty, and body products.

This is a review of Bomibox Luxe, which is $39.99 per month.

This box was sent to us at no cost to review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

I guess my box skipped the branding because it’s just a plain cardboard box. Luckily, everything inside was intact.

What’s Inside:

APLB Tranexamic Acid Niacinamide Ampoule Serum – Retail Value $7.64

Tranexamic acid is one of my go-to ingredients for hyperpigmentation, so I was genuinely excited to try this. It also has niacinamide and centella, which is basically a calming, brightening dream team. Texture-wise, it’s super lightweight and layers beautifully under SPF or makeup. No scent, no pilling, no stickiness. Love.

Tocobo Bio Watery Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++ – Retail Value $16

I’m devastated. The original Korean version of this sunscreen is holy grail status for me… weightless, glowy, zero white cast. But this is the U.S. reformulated version… and it’s just not the same. It smells like generic sunscreen, it takes more effort to blend, and the finish is more matte and powdery than dewy. I hate how disappointed I am, but I really am.

B:LAB Matcha Hydrating Foam Cleanser – Retail Value $9

Okay, I did not expect to like this one as much as I did. It doesn’t foam easily (you’ve got to really work it), but it starts off with this bouncy, mochi-like texture that I love. Plus, you can use it as a mini antioxidant mask before adding water. Didn’t feel stripping at all. For a foaming cleanser? This is a standout.

Sungboon Editor Green Tomato Ampoule+ – Retail Value $22.10

Ignore the packaging, this stuff is good. Lightweight, sinks in quickly, and gives you a subtle glow. I’ve used similar green tomato formulas before and noticed smoother texture and less visible pores over time. It doesn’t “lift” in a dramatic way, but it does make my skin feel more refined. It’s one of those serums you don’t expect much from, then end up finishing.

VT Cosmetics Reedle Shot EX Vitamin Modelling Pack – Retail Value $3.26

I say this with love: modeling masks should come with a personal assistant. They’re messy, fussy, and I never enjoy the process. This one wasn’t awful scent-wise, but I still wish it had been a gel or cream mask.

Elizavecca Tea Tree Deep Power Ringer Mask Pack – Retail Value $2

Pro tip: throw this in the fridge for 15 minutes before using and boom—instant cryo facial. The cooling effect is amazing, especially when my skin is inflamed or breaking out. I always keep one of these on standby for cystic flare-ups. It works.

Missha Airy Fit Sheet Mask – Retail Value $1.39

These are still my all-time favorite masks for fit. They cling to your face like second skin, so you can actually go about your day while masking. No constant adjusting, no sliding off your chin. Just set it and forget it.

Was this Box Worth It?

The Cost: $39.99

Total Value: $61.39

Despite my sunscreen heartbreak, this was a solid summer box. The green tomato serum and matcha cleanser were big wins. The overall curation made sense for July, lightweight textures, calming ingredients, and formulas that play well with sun-exposed, sweaty skin.

I just wish they’d included the original Tocobo sunscreen (PLEASE bring it back someday), but other than that, I felt like the theme came through well. This was the kind of K-beauty curation that reminds me why I subscribe in the first place.
