Boxycharm by Ipsy “Make Bold Moves” Review – June 2025

Some worth the hype, others... not so much.

This month’s Boxycharm box is all about bright hues and dopamine-boosting glam. They say it’s supposed to be about bringing joy and expressing it through every look. The curation features a mix of makeup products, as well as a few skincare and fragrance options. Let’s see if they spark any joy at all.

This review is for the BoxyCharm by Ipsy + beauty boost – a $32 monthly beauty subscription box with five items (usually four full-size) spanning skincare, makeup, haircare, and fragrance. The retail value always beats the cost, but how did this month stack up? Let’s get into it.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

The box arrived in perfect condition. Nothing was broken, nothing spilled.

What’s Inside

Pinklipps Cosmetics Everlasting Liquid Blush – Retail Value: $18

Shade: Rare (mauve)

Okay, confession time: this was my first time trying a liquid blush, and now I get the hype. The color is gorgeous and builds beautifully without looking streaky. I appreciated that it wasn’t super pigmented from the start, which made it way less intimidating to blend. It looked very natural.

Would I repurchase? Yes.

Love+Craft+Beauty Planetary Precision Brow Duo – Retail Value: $18

Shade: Mercury Mocha (neutral light brown)

Love a good dual-ended pencil, but this one didn’t wow me. The pencil side gave me decent definition, but the gel? Meh. I tried adjusting pressure, angle, everything—it still came out patchy and too light for my liking. On the plus side, both sides are definitely smudge-proof. Like, too smudge-proof... it was stubborn to remove.

Would I repurchase? No.

E.L.F. Cosmetics Halo Glow Skin Tint SPF 50 – Retail Value: $18

Shade: 8N Medium

I had high hopes for this. Let’s start with the good: the packaging is amazing and super easy to control, the formula feels light and blends like a dream, and it doesn’t leave you greasy. But—and it’s a big but—the zinc-based SPF leaves a faint white cast, and it oxidized darker on me after a few hours. So while the shade matched at first, it kind of betrayed me later. I might try mixing it with bronzer to even things out, but it wasn’t the win I’d hoped for.

Would I repurchase? No, but I might finish the tube.

Fenty Beauty Poutsicle Hydrating Lip Stain – Retail Value: $28

Shade: Zestie Bestie (coral)

I wasn’t expecting to love this, but here we are. It’s a juicy, buildable stain with a glossy finish that actually feels comfortable. Usually, lip stains leave my lips dry and sad, but this one was hydrating, bold, and long-wearing (even after the shine fades). I found myself reaching for it again and again over the weekend.

Would I repurchase? YES!

Galactik Blush Me & Glow Face Palette – Retail Value: $36

Shade: Blush Me Medium

I really wanted to like this. It looked like a perfect travel palette, but the formulas just felt... off. Not quite chalky, but not buttery either. The blushes didn’t blend as well as I’d like, and the highlighter lacked that smooth luminosity. It’s okay for backup, but not something I’d reach for over my favorites.

Would I repurchase? No.

Natasha Denona Hy-Gen Skincare Infused Glow Beautifier – Retail Value: $48

Shade: Light

This was my beauty boost pick, and oof—I really missed the mark. I thought it was a glowy highlighter, but it’s meant to go all over your face. It gives serious sparkle. Like, Twilight’s Edward Cullen in the sun sparkle. If you love that glassy, all-over glow, you might vibe with it... but for me? It was too much for a day-to-day base. I’ll probably use it as body shimmer this summer.

Would I repurchase? No.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $32

Retail Value: $166

Honestly? This month was better than expected. I got a few duds, yes, but I also found two standouts: the Fenty lip stain and the liquid blush. Plus, the e.l.f. tint almost worked for me, and I might be able to salvage it with some creative layering. So no, it wasn’t the most thrilling box ever—but I’m not mad at it. I tried something new (hello, liquid blush obsession), and that alone felt like a win.

Other Things You Should Know

Can you still get this box if you sign up? Nope. You’ll be getting the next curation.
