Spring is a scam. There, I said it. It lures us in with pastel vibes and blooming trees, but behind all that charm? Pollen, windburn, and sudden breakouts from seasonal shifts that your winter routine didn’t sign up for. That’s why I was super intrigued by April’s BomiBox theme: “Spring Bloom.”
This curation promised lightweight hydration, gentle exfoliation, and sun protection to help your skin gracefully thaw out of winter mode. But was it all fluff or actually functional? Let’s unpack the goods.
BomiBox is a monthly Korean beauty subscription box featuring 8 full-sized and deluxe Korean skincare, makeup, and self-care faves.
This is a review of BomiBox Luxe, which is $39.99 per month.
This box was sent to us at no cost to review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)
First Impressions
The box arrived in perfect condition—no crushed corners, no mystery goo leaking from a rogue ampoule. Off to a good start.
What’s Inside:
Be The Skin BHA+ PORE ZERO Serum (30ml) – Retail Value: $20
The K-beauty obsession with “poreless” skin lives on—and I swear this is like the fourth ‘pore-zero’ themed serum I’ve seen this year. This one leans on willow-BHA, a gentler derivative of salicylic acid, to declog pores and lightly exfoliate.
I’m not personally team willow bark—my skin tends to get snippy with it—but I gave this a try. It’s super lightweight and non-sticky, and I think oily or acne-prone skin types would love this as a daily refresh.
Downside? The scent. It's like wet grass meets science lab—very raw and green, not in the good matcha way. I’d rather have fragrance than... plant funk.
IUNIK Deluxe Beta Glucan Power Moisture Serum (15ml) – Retail Value: $8.30
An absolute cult classic in Korea, and for good reason. Beta-glucan is an underrated hydration hero—it holds 20% more moisture than hyaluronic acid and helps calm inflamed skin.
This mini bottle packs a punch. It’s thick but fast-absorbing, and you’ll feel the difference with consistent use. It’s one of those serums where your skin quietly becomes softer, bouncier, and less reactive. Oily skin types might find it a bit much, but for everyone else? Chef’s kiss.
Frudia My Orchard Banana Hand Cream (30g) – Retail Value: $5

This is your throw-it-in-your-purse-and-forget-it-until-you-need-it hand cream. The banana scent is borderline addictive—it’s giving banana Laffy Taffy in the best nostalgic way.
It’s small, adorable, and moisturizing without being greasy. Nothing revolutionary here, but it sparks joy.
Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum (30 ml) – Retail Value: $19
Okay. Deep breath. I could write a love letter to this sunscreen.
This gem has been discontinued in the US (RIP 🪦), so seeing it in the box felt like uncovering a lost treasure.
It’s infused with centella asiatica and hyaluronic acid, meaning it soothes while hydrating—and still gives you SPF 50+ PA++++ protection. No white cast. No pilling. Just dewy, calm skin that stays that way.
And unlike many Korean sunscreens that can get too dewy, this one finds the perfect satin finish.
Medicube PDRN Pink One Day Serum (1.5 ml x 10) – Retail Value: $35
PDRN (short for Polydeoxyribonucleotide) is derived from salmon DNA and used in aesthetic clinics to regenerate tissue, boost elasticity, and support healing. It’s basically skincare’s version of “leveling up.”
These daily ampoules are potent—and cute. I already use a PDRN serum on my face, so I’m testing these on my scalp. Yep, PDRN can support scalp health and hair growth, especially post-shedding season.
The Face Shop Real Nature Green Tea Mask (1 mask) – Retail Value: $1.90

A classic. If you’ve ever walked into an Olive Young in Seoul, you’ve probably seen this one in the sheet mask aisle. It’s packed with green tea extract for calming inflammation and hydrating post-sun skin. I love how saturated the sheet is—I literally squeezed out two more uses from the leftover serum.
Numbuzin No.1 Dewy Glow Spa Sheet Mask (1 mask) – Retail Value: $2.20

One of my fridge-door staples. When my skin’s feeling temperamental—red, flaky, extra sensitive—this is the sheet mask I reach for. It gives spa-day softness in under 20 minutes and doesn’t slip or drip. Worth the slightly higher price for that chill-down moment alone.
TL;DR – What Stood Out
- Best product? The Skin1004 SPF — lightweight, dewy, no white cast, and basically extinct in the U.S. now. A rare find.
- Biggest surprise? IUNIK Beta Glucan Serum — tiny bottle, big moisture. Makes your skin look like you actually drink water.
- Most fun? Medicube PDRN Ampoules — trendy, travel-friendly, and I’m even using them on my scalp for hair growth support.
- Meh moment? The Be The Skin BHA Serum — functional, but the scent is... too real.
- Sheet mask MVP? Numbuzin No.1 — calming, cooling, and fridge-worthy.
This curation nailed the spring skin brief: soothing hydration, gentle exfoliation, and daily SPF. Solid mix of classics, cult-faves, and a few fun twists.
Final Verdict: Is This Box Worth It?
Cost: $39.99
Retail Value: $91.40
Even if a few products weren’t perfect for me (I’m looking at you, grassy BHA serum), this curation felt thoughtful. You get functional skincare with fun textures, buzzy ingredients like PDRN, and—best of all—a sunscreen unicorn I thought I’d never see again.
