Rocksbox Jewelry Review May 2024

Welcome back to my Rocksbox May review! They keep adding new pieces, so I get sucked in even more. In fact, all of the pieces I rented were brand new with tags and from a costume jewelry perspective, they're pretty nice too. Anyway, let's check out this month's set.

Rocksbox is a jewelry styling and rental service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy whatever they love at a discounted price. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your ever-growing wish list. Members can keep and wear the three pieces they receive for as long as they want, or they can switch out sets whenever they'd like. Rocksbox also offers a monthly credit so you can buy the pieces for less.

Concerned about cleanliness? Each piece is sterilized with alcohol jewelry cleaner using medical grade products and handled with jewelry experts wearing gloves.

This is a review of the monthly plan for $21, which includes shipping to the US only.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Just like other subscription boxes, when I signed up for Rocksbox I had to set up a style profile that asked me questions like my metal preference, and which necklace, earring, bracelet, and ring styles I liked the most.

Let's check out this month's delivery!

What I Received

Mignonne Gavigan Meknes Studs, Retail Value $115, Member Price $115

About this item: Double rainbow! These shiny rainbow-hued hoops are crafted in 14k gold-plated brass with colorful glass crystals, and a stainless-steel post. On-trend and classic, at the same time, they'll brighten up any of your looks, whether you're dressed up or down.

Condition: Brand new with tags.

Review: Paging Rainbow Brite! These super fun and colorful crystal hoops matched so many of my outfits. I really loved to wear them with the Michael Stars dress from my Armoire review.

Mignonne Gavigan Aziza Hoops - Retail Price $125, Member Price $125

About this item: Reminiscent of waves on the beach, the Aziza hoops are rendered in organic, scalloped 14k gold with eye-catching freshwater pearls. They measure at 1.5" x 1.5" and they're a bit on the heavier side.

Condition: Brand new with tags.

Review: They were a bit heavy on my ears, but I still got a lot of wear out of them. They're classy, yet trendy, and a total statement piece!

Lele Sadoughi Wallflower Button Earrings - Retail Value $145, Member Price $145

About this item: So much flower power! These mother-of-pearl button earrings are rendered in lightweight acetate with a crystal pave center. They measure at approximately 1.5" diameter and they're lighter weight than other Lele Sadoughi Earrings.

Condition: Brand new with tags.

Review: Yeah, you've seen these earrings many times, in many different designs. This version is smaller and lighter weight. I must say, Lele Sadoughi earrings may be a little on the pricier side, but sure get a lot of compliments!

The Verdict

Loved this set! While the Aziza hoops were a little heavy and clunky, all three pairs were fun and frilly. Every time I think about giving up reviewing this subscription, I end up discovering more fun pieces on Rocksbox site and I continue exploring.

Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21 per month. At retail, the three pieces would've cost me $385.00. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing including the buy-all-three-items $10 discount, the $21 of Shine Credit (doesn't look like this applied this time), and my Rose Gold Rewards discount of $19.25 the total price for the three items goes down to $334.75.

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, help guide the Rocksbox stylists and add your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

If shopping were an Olympic sport, I’d be a gold medalist. And while my bank account often feels the crunch, I just can’t stop buying secondhand clothing and accessories, under-the-radar designer goods, stuffed animal unicorns (I have about 75), and toys for my pet bunny rabbit. After 20 years of city slicking in NYC and DC, I now have a car and love to tour the Virginia countryside looking for vintage shops, undiscovered wineries and breweries, historic sites, and Thai restaurants—I’m addicted to Thai food. I never leave home without a spare phone charger because I love horror movies and therefore have an irrational fear of being stranded somewhere with a dead battery.
