The Mindful Box is a monthly subscription from Mindful Souls, a landing place for those interested in spirituality, personal growth, crystals, and more. Mindful Souls focuses on simplifying and demystifying the concept of spiritual improvement, making it more accessible and understandable for everyone. The Mindful Box is meant as a holistic self-care delivery. Each box contains 6-8 mindful items such as crystals, aromatherapy, and other self-love tools.

The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Monthly deliveries come packed in this beautifully branded box. Inside are a bunch of canvas pouches that hold your goodies. You can preview what's inside them by opening the info pamphlet first, or you can take the path of surprise by peeking in each one. I usually do the latter!

Details about your monthly curation are inside this tri-fold pamphlet. On the back is a teaser into your next box. This subscription is a little different than others, in that the boxes are set up to be sent in a sequence — everyone receives boxes in the same order, no matter when they subscribe. So the teaser on the back of the booklet will be about what YOU are going to receive, and might differ from what you see here.

Here are our sticker and mantra of the month.

What's Inside the April 2024 Mindful Souls Box

Moss Agate and Labradorite Bracelet

Mindful Box takes us on a tour of "essentials of mindfulness" through our monthly deliveries, and this month's stop is all about crystals. There are crystals in every box, of course, but the info pamphlet gives some extra information about each one to show different ways that people might tap into what they hold.

This silver bracelet is strung with moss agate and labradorite polished stone beads in all different representations of the color family these stones can hold. These two are said to promote self-growth and balance.

The bracelet has a toggle closure and a balanced design—it would be simple to style for everyday or to dress up.

Spoon with Clear Crystal - Retail Value $6.99

This small spoon can be used to stir a drink, eat ice cream, or whatever you like! It's engraved with florals, its stem looks like a branch, and its tip holds a "clear crystal"—it looks cloudy white to me, and I'm surprised that it remains unnamed. I generally assume quartz when I see a clear-white crystal that isn't identified, but perhaps some of you have other ideas.

Lapis Lazuli Necklace - Retail Value $32

Lapis lazuli is known by some as the "wisdom stone," to enhance intuition and knowledge—to me, I simply think of its mesmerizing blue tone. I'm just forever astonished by how something so vibrant can occur naturally on this Earth. The rectangular pendant here is a polished piece of the stone, but it's also impressive raw. So beautiful.

I love playing with color in my personal style, and I can see the bold blue tone of this stone being fun to work into outfits. I just popped it on with what I was already wearing that day in the photos, and I think it adds nice contrast to my warm-toned outfit.

Lotus Flower Incense Holder

This sturdy brass dish arrived as an incense holder, but the actual holder is a second loose part that is simply set on top of the lotus flower, so the possibilities of use are endless. If you aren't one to burn incense sticks or already have a holder you like, you could use it as a trinket dish or decoration.

Here I have it on my mantle, and it fits in so nicely. I had hoped that having the incense upright over the dish would mean its ash would all be caught, but some did fall down over the edge. No biggie—I've been wiping up incense ash for years and years, and it's never been a problem.

Here's a peek at the notebook and pen in use, and truly this was just the beginning. We have filled the pages with all sorts of doodles and notes and portraits of one another in the days since this duo arrived.

Mahogany Obsidian Point

The rich colors of this small mahogany obsidian point are so soothing. It's one that can be used for healing and letting go, and the info pamphlet recommends keeping it in your bathroom as a reminder to use your daily cleansing routines as a symbol of washing away what no longer serves you. What a wonderful practice to work into self-care.

For now I have mine on a built-in shelf in my dining room, but I can see myself moving it around my home here and there, because it feels so nice to hold.

Labradorite Palm Stone - Estimated Retail Value $18.97

Speaking of "nice to hold"—this glistening labradorite stone was created in a size and shape that's meant to be held. Some use this stone for security and protection, and it's suggested that you could keep it by your door or carry it in your car. I think I might keep it in my jacket pocket, as I love reaching in and having something smooth and weighty to hold and stroke when I'm waiting or walking. The colors and streaks of this stone are so magnificent!

Verdict

The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.

This month with the Mindful Box, I was sent the mindful curation focused on crystal energies. There have been times in my life when I've put more weight and belief on the representations and energies of stones—I'm currently in a place where I'm enjoying their textures, appearances, weights, and "of the Earth" beauty. It's always lovely to consider what they might represent, too. My favorite item of the month is the labradorite palm stone, but there wasn't a single item in this month's box that was a dud.

This box costs $39.97, and contained 6 items. I was only able to find links and retail values for two of the items in this month's curation, which I've linked above. Often I like to provide estimated retail values for items I can't find, but this month I struggled to find comparable products for the bracelet and incense dish, and in the case of the stones, prices range vastly depending on the quality and sourcing of stones, so I didn't want to offer a false estimate. Mindful Souls guarantees that their crystals are real and ethically sourced, so you can count on their quality. And past boxes have had a retail value of more than double the cost, so that is likely the case here too. The two products I could find links for add up to $39, so those two alone have us nearly breaking even.

Keep track of your subscriptions by adding The Mindful Box to your wishlist or subscription list!

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Possibly. Boxes are set up to be sent in a sequence, with varying start points. While this may not be your first box, it may be your second or fourth.

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

Hi! The spoon could definitely be used to measure out herbs and powders if you are making spell jars and things like that 🤗
