First Impressions

Looking back on last month's review, it is hard to believe that just 30 days ago was -20°F! While that is definitely typical of Minnesota, I can sure say I am embracing the unseasonable 48°F weather this week has offered! Speaking of Mother Nature and all things related, this month's Wicked Good's box focused on all of the elements and gave off earthy vibes, while being extremely cool. Read below to see what I discovered.

What's Inside This Box

"Air" Perfume Oil Roller, 10 mL - Listed Value $18

I work at a school, and when warm temps come around, so do all of the smells. And when I say all of the smells, I'm not talking about the pleasant ones. Take for instance yesterday - someone had "forgotten" their opened milk cartons at the back of their locker. Pair that with a long weekend and increasing temps and let me tell you - I wanted a clothespin for my nose! That being said, I headed back to my room and rolled a hefty dose of one of this month's perfume rollers on my wrist and sniffed away. This "Air" version really did capture the scent of air in a lovely way. With notes of bergamot, serene lavender, and jasmine, this light, cottony smell reminded me of laundry gently swaying on the line in a warm breeze. That is a 100000% better smell than rotting milk, and I was happy have stuck it in my purse before heading to work! Typically the perfume oils last longer than the sprays, and while still noticeable, I do enjoy being able to toss this in my purse to reapply when a heavier scent is needed.

"Earth" Perfume Spray, 1 oz - Listed Value $39

Speaking of perfume sprays, this month's version encompassed all of the smells of "earth" and did it very well. With notes of Iso E Super, vetiver, patchouli, and cedar, this spray was quite light, yet reminiscent of soft green moss with a hint of dirt. While I generally don't start my day wanting to smell like dirt, this warm fragrance is that of the loveliest dirt! Subtle and light, this perfume spray does wear off faster than the oils, but pairs with all of the oils perfectly.

"Fire" Perfume Oil Roller, 10 mL - Listed Value $18

To be honest, I was a little bummed out to see three perfume rollers this month. I like variety, and was hoping the "fire" element would maybe be a candle. That being said, this fragrance combo might just be my favorite yet! With notes of clove, pink pepper, saffron, and olibanum, this roller was not only a little spicy, but surprising too. Hard to describe, I really love the layers of scents, and found it to be great on its own, but fun with the other "elements" as well!

"Water" Perfume Oil Roller, 10 mL - Listed Value $18

The last item we received this month was one more perfume roller. This version was made with the element of water in mind. Featuring notes of cucumber, lotus, waterlily, and sea salt, I could definitely pull the cucumber fragrance out first. While light, it did have a springy scent about it and left me feeling clean. Again, I wish the items would have been a bit more varied, but definitely loved the fragrance!

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The perfume spray and rollers have a total listed value of $93, which is $60 over the cost of this month's box! In this box, each of the 4 items costs an average of about $8.25.

Key Takeaways

Overall, I really enjoyed the curation of this box. The fun "Elements" theme worked really well and without even reading the descriptions, I could determine which fragrances were meant for each element. While I would have liked to see items other than perfume rollers in this month's box, I did appreciate each scent and loved the fact that they can be worn alone, or layered for even more fragrance combos. With a fun presentation, I love being able to throw these rollers in my purse and desk drawer for spur of the moment use, and am already looking forward to the March curation. Can’t help but wonder if the elements theme is in honor of the live action Avatar show that just came out on Netflix
