First Impressions

Open Box for Nourish Beauty Box February 2024

Each month, Nourish Beauty Box usually arrives in a box with an info card that has a quick overview of the box on one side and more detailed information about the products included on the other.

Nothing unusual with this month's packaging, and I'm interested to see what's been included this time around.

Now, on to the items!

NOURISH NATURALS Creamy Vegan Stain in Begonia, 2 g - Retail Value $22

This month’s signature product, as has been the pattern lately, is Nourish Naturals’ Creamy Vegan Stain; I have so many by now that I’ve lost count. I received the shade ‘Begonia.’ As someone who appreciates the simplicity of natural makeup, this shade nicely pairs with the others in my collection. I expected it to be too light for my skin tone, but it actually offers a slight pink flush that gives the ‘barely there’ look that I enjoy. On the lips, it provides a subtle flush, and it’s lusciously moisturizing but not at all sticky. With enriching ingredients like shea and kokum butters and marshmallow root extract, just a little goes a long way. Using this as a blush isn’t an option due to my combination skin (it would slide right off my face). Now, I do wish this stain came with a built-in applicator, but regardless, it’s a solid option for its moisturizing properties and the healthy glow it brings to a natural everyday look.

SERAPHINE BOTANICALS Murumuru and Lily Pressed Facial Serum, 25 g - Retail Value $138

Well, now, this is a type of facial serum I’ve never seen before, and I consider myself to be something of a skincare aficionado. This Murumuru and Lily Pressed Facial Serum from Seraphine Botanicals is quite innovative, I must say. The product’s texture has a balm-like consistency, offering a rich, concentrated treatment upon application, as opposed to traditional all-over liquid-style serums. My skin is pretty sensitive, especially when it comes to oil-based products like this one, so I won’t be applying this to my face. That said, it’s become a go-to for my post-shower moisturization routine, and I have to say, it’s doing an excellent job of repairing my skin this winter so far. The formula is packed with nourishing ingredients that provide intense hydration without causing any irritation. Definitely my new favorite when it comes to chasing away that winter skin.

KALEIDO COSMETICS Lumi Light Multipurpose Highlighting Crayon in Nuclear, 6 g - Retail Value $8

I’ve never been a fan of multipurpose beauty products, but I always go in with an open mind because, well, who knows?! Much to my surprise, I actually quite enjoyed this Lumi Light Multipurpose Highlighting Crayon from Kaleido Cosmetics. The shade ‘Nuclear’ is a stunning rose gold, which nicely complements my skin tone. I like the texture of the product; it’s very smooth and easy to apply, not to mention, very pigmented. You can add a pop of shimmer to cheekbones, eyelids, and lips, all with this one product. I especially appreciate the gentle formula of this crayon as it doesn’t cause any irritation to the delicate skin of my eyes, which is always a concern of mine, especially with multi-purpose products like these. If you love a multi-use type of situation, this could be your next must-have. A great option for a variety of looks, from subtle highlights to a more dramatic glow. Whatever look you’re going for, this has got you covered.

RAIN ORGANICA Meadowfoam and Fog Rollerball, 10 ml - Retail Value $14

Huh… We just received one of these Rain Organica Meadowfoam and Fog Rollerballs last month; what a unique choice to send out this product two months in a row. This rollerball is definitely one of the more unique products in the sense that it allows you to apply hydration in an ultra-controlled way. It comes in handy as a spot treatment that’s easy to bring along, allowing you to re-apply wherever you go. When I first applied this, I was surprised at how quickly the product absorbed into the skin, and I appreciate the lack of that overly greasy / oily feeling that I’ve experienced with other oil-based products. I didn’t find the scent to be overpowering to my sensitive nose either, despite featuring a potent blend of cardamom, chamomile, and lavender. Overall, this rollerball works especially nicely on the recurring eczema patch on my shoulder that flares up every time I venture out into the frigid New York weather. It does an excellent job of treating irritation, and thanks to the controlled applicator, much less product goes to waste, which I do appreciate.

Verdict

This was a pretty good month for Nourish Beauty Box! The highlight for me was an unlikely one… Kaleido Cosmetics’ highlighter crayon, a multi-purpose product, can take your look from subtle to dramatic in seconds with its smooth, pigmented shimmer. Seraphine Botanicals’ facial serum is quite the innovative skincare product, with a formula that can handle even the roughest of dry, winter skin. The creamy vegan stain from Nourish Naturals is always a solid product, but since receiving one month after month, I have way more than necessary. Maybe a new signature product is coming soon? Lastly, the rollerball from Rain Organica… While the product comes in handy for tackling a stubborn eczema patch on my shoulder, especially due to its controlled application, we also received this exact one in last month’s box. Overall, I thought this was a decent box. While it could certainly benefit from some variety in regard to the product selection, the value is there.
