First Impressions

We are halfway through January, and this -20°F weather has me dreaming of spring. This month's Wicked Good's box was themed "Big Love" and definitely gave off some floral vibes that helped my spring dreams feel a littler closer to reality. With a beautiful presentation, I was left impressed with the sweet scents of this box. Read below to see what I discovered.

What's Inside This Box

"Go Your Own Way" Perfume Oil Roller, 10 mL - Listed Value $18

When I think of January, I think of crisp air, snowflakes, and cocoa. Scent-wise I wasn't quite sure what to expect this month, but was pleasantly surprised to find a curation of sweet, enchanting scents that took me out of the arctic cold wind for a moment, and transcended me into a garden of fragrance. Featuring notes of pink lady apple, black pepper, rhubarb, geranium, clove, hyacinth, musk, black iris, caramel, and amber, I really fell in love with this aroma. While the apple and rhubarb scent lingered most for me, the amber rounded it out nicely, and created a light, yet deep combination. The perfume oil roller typically lasts longer than a spray, and with a heavy streak placed on my wrists, elbows, and neck, smelled lovely throughout the entire day.

"Dreams" Perfume Spray, 1 oz - Listed Value $39

Pairing perfectly with the oil roller was this month's perfume spray. Featuring notes of mandarin, strawberry, gardenia, honeysuckle, mimosa, vanilla rum, sandalwood, and white musk, this perfume was sweet and heavenly. Literally smelling like a fruity drink I would sit on the beach with, I absolutely loved this scent, and it instantly perked up my mood. While it smells wonderful on its own, pair with the perfume oil roller for an extra deep scent combo!

Gypsy Hair Perfume

Also included this month was a bottle of hair perfume. Packaged in a dark plastic bottle, this spray is made from water, hydrolyzed rice protein, polysorbate 20, and fragrance. Featuring notes of peach, raspberry, osmanthus, cinnamon, anise, wild rose, orange blossom, spiced patchouli, sandalwood, and Egyptian musk, this veered off the sweet path and opted for a more earthy tone. When sprayed on dry curls, this mixture held on through most of the day, sending wisps of patchouli and cinnamon with every shake of my head!

"Gold Dust Woman" Shave Butter, Listed Value $21.00

I have been reviewing the Wicked Good box for quite some time now and have never come across a fragrance I wasn't a fan of. We all know that was bound to change, and this month it did with the shave butter. Beautiful in presentation, I loved the round tin, pretty floral label, and inclusion of the glitter, but just did not care for the scent. Featuring notes of chocolate, sugar, ylang-ylang, and musk, this really smelled like a musty boot to me. 😣

The perfume spray, roller, and hair perfume have a total listed value of $78, which is$45 over the cost of this month's box. That's an average of about $8.25 for each of the 4 items.

Key Takeaways

Overall, I loved this box. The fruity, sweet scents were just what I needed in my life and the presentation rocked. The roller oil, perfume spray, and hair perfume were totally spot on, while the shave butter missed the mark completely. Honestly, because I haven't received a scent I wasn't a fan of after so many reviews, I wasn't that bummed out, but do hope next month all four items are hits for me. What did you think of this month's Wicked Good box? I am already looking forward to the February curation!

I enjoy your reviews of this sub. I cancelled due to a perfume overload, but I find myself missing the unique fragrances and fun extra products, even if they weren’t an exact match for me, lol. I could always find a friend to pass them along to.
