First Impressions

Bag for Ipsy Glam Bag November 2023

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month's signature makeup bag left me with mixed feelings. The design, straying from the usual Ipsy style with a clutch-like zipper handle, initially puzzled me, though its uniqueness is undeniable. Embracing the theme of "The Glammest Show on Earth," the bag intriguingly hints at a bold and daring beauty adventure that lies within.

Included is a product card that features a list of the products and beauty tips.

Now, on to the items!

TARTE Tartelette Tubing Mascara, 2 ml - Estimated Value $6.25

As a longtime fan of Tarte, I was thrilled to try their Tartelette Tubing Mascara, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Dubbed as ‘lash extensions in a tube,’ this innovative mascara uses micro-tubing technology, which feels like wrapping each lash in a luxurious cashmere coat. The best part? It dramatically lengthens my lashes without the heavy, clumpy feel typical of traditional mascaras. I'm especially impressed by the mascara’s endurance; it stays put for the entire day, resisting smudges, flakes, and sweat, which makes it a true lifesaver for my busy lifestyle. The 360-degree lash extension comb, with its nearly 300 bristles, works wonders in separating and lifting each lash, giving me that sought-after fanned-out look. Plus, the blend of conditioning shea butter, moisturizing castor oil, and lifting plant waxes not only ensures a smooth application but also promotes lash growth. And when the day is done, it's a breeze to remove; no harsh rubbing required. Just two coats, and I'm rocking lash extensions without the hassle. The fact that it's vegan and cruelty-free is the cherry on top. A definite game-changer for my daily makeup routine, delivering both performance and care for my lashes.

BEAUTY FOR REAL Perfect Perfection Concealer Brush, 1-pc - Retail Value $21.00

I have to admit, I'm usually not the best with brushes, but the Beauty For Real Perfect Perfection Concealer Brush has been a delightful addition to my makeup routine. Its uniquely designed brush, with super soft fibers, glides over my skin, making concealer application feel more like a pampering session than a chore. The wedge shape of the brush is particularly ingenious, allowing me to effortlessly reach into those tricky corners and under my lashes for a flawless, creaseless finish. The brush's handle, with its smooth dark chocolate matte finish, feels luxurious in my hand, adding a touch of elegance to my daily makeup ritual. Plus, the brush fibers not only look chic but also feel gentle against my skin, ensuring an even and comfortable application every time. Whether you're a makeup pro or a brush novice like me, this concealer brush makes achieving that perfect, line-free look surprisingly simple and utterly enjoyable.

PATCHOLOGY Hydrate Sheet Masks, 2-pk - Retail Value $10.00 ($20 for 4 pack)

As someone who appreciates sustainable efforts in skincare, I was eager to try the Patchology Hydrate Sheet Masks. Though the idea of reaching into the packet for a mask and saving the second one for later in a sealed bag is a bit of a hassle for me, the results are undeniably impressive. This mask is like a tall drink of water for your skin. Enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5, it works wonders in just five minutes, providing a swift rescue for my often dry and dull complexion. I was amazed at how quickly the mask delivered hydration compared to many others, making them my new go-to for those hectic mornings. After each use, my skin feels calmed, significantly softer, and smoother; almost as if it's sighing in relief. A fantastic quick-fix for anyone struggling with dry patches and thirsty skin, trust me.

ESTATE COSMETICS Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Black, 0.4 ml - Retail Value $12.00

This Precision Liquid Eyeliner from Estate Cosmetics has reignited my enjoyment for eyeliner once again. First off, its ultra-fine, felt-tip applicator is a dream for creating everything from a subtle flick to a dramatic winged look. The precision I can achieve with this eyeliner is unmatched. The formula itself is a standout; it glides on my eyelids effortlessly, without any pulling or tugging, which is a relief for my delicate eye skin. What really seals the deal for me is its long-lasting formula. This eyeliner promises all-day wear and water resistance, and it delivers spectacularly. I've worn it through long days, and it hasn't smudged, run, or feathered at all. Plus, it dries quickly, so no more awkward moments waiting for my eyeliner to set. For anyone in search of a hassle-free, long-lasting, and easy-to-use liquid eyeliner, look no further.

TOUCH IN SOL No Poreblem AHA BHA PHA Toner, 30 ml - Estimated Value $3.38

Front of Touch in Sol Toner for Ipsy Glam Bag November 2023

I've always been a fan of Touch in Sol products, and their No Poreblem AHA BHA PHA Toner has become my latest obsession. As someone who often prefers to pack light for overnight trips, this toner has been a lifesaver, since it’s so incredibly convenient to slip into my bag. The first thing I noticed was the mild scent, which is a huge plus for me as I'm not a fan of overpowering fragrances. But the real magic of this product lies in its pore-taming abilities. Formulated with glycolic and salicylic acids, it gently exfoliates my skin, leaving it looking smoother and clearer. I've been using it once or twice a week, following the easy application process of swiping it over clean, dry skin before proceeding with my skincare routine. I must say, it's noticeably shrunk the appearance of my pores and has given my skin a more refined look. It's not just a toner; it's like a mini facial in a bottle, perfect for keeping my skin in check when I'm on the go.

The Verdict

This was a great month for Ipsy Glam Bag! The toner from Touch in Sol is the highlight of this bag for me. I love the brand, and the formula is both gentle yet effective, working to refine my pores and improve my skin’s texture. Patchology’s sheet masks are another excellent addition to my skincare routine. Any dry patches were instantly banished from my face after just a few moments of the luxurious hydrating formula. Tarte products are always a win for me and mascara is something I’ll always need, and with its micro-tubing technology, it’s definitely upped my lash game. The concealer brush from Beauty for Real is visually stunning, and the super-soft fibers make application a breeze and results in a flawless finish. Lastly, Estate Cosmetics liquid eyeliner… another game-changer, thanks to its precision and unparalleled lasting power; a new must-have for me. Overall, I thought this was an excellent month, nothing short of fabulous, and the value is certainly there.

Ipsy is the worst subscription I have ever had!!! Almost all my orders from Ipsy Shop and monthly subscription were either broken makeup and or missing items. They say they will replace items but NEVER have in the past 2 years because they say the item is sold out but on their website they are still selling the items.I am making sure that I let everyone know how fed up I am with them! I have pictures and conversations documented.

Oh, wow, I found an actual *REVIEW* buried between all the *ADS* on this site – ads disguised as articles, and you can’t even *COMMENT* on them, which is bull. Maybe I have a strong opinion on one of the bedding brands being advertised, but I can’t even comment on it due to not having this option. And the ads are for the same brands over and over. I understand this site needs to make revenue, but this is ridiculous. Not even worth visiting anymore for the most part.

Anyway, I had hoped to get the purple bag, but I got the pink IPSY bag. I guess they are about equally cute, though. I didn’t get any of the same items that Naomi did.
