IPSY Glam Bag Review October 2023

IPSY is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. For $13 per month, you get five full-size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.

Your IPSY Glam bag will come in a branded bubble mailer (I love the rainbow of colors this one has going on). When you open it up, you can always expect to find a makeup bag storing your new beauty products and an info sheet with additional details.

This month's bag was a spooky red bag printed with ornate spiderwebs with a bat zipper pull.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside My October 2023 Ipsy Glam Bag

Ciaté London Extraordinary BB Cream in 100, 7 mL - Estimated Value $6.06 (buy the 30 mL version for $26) Note: This value is based on the info sheet that came with the bag

This BB cream was a winner for me - it was a good shade match, had a lightweight texture that blended in easily with my hands, and evened out my complexion. It gave me a “my skin but better” glow, and it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin either.  However, I couldn't find this for sale online.

Vamigas Rosa Mosqueta Lip Mask, 10 mL - Retail Value $18

This lip mask had a slight rose scent to it that I found pleasant, and it has a really glossy finish while still being super moisturizing to your lips. Kind of simple, but I like it.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Rose Gold, 0.03 oz - Estimated Value $19.20  (buy the 0.05 oz version for $42)

This was my choice item of the month - I absolutely adore the Laura Mercier Caviar sticks and own at least a few. This smaller size will still last me a while and looks so pretty! It’s a shimmery golden shade (not much “rose” in the rose gold) and I can easily rub it all over my lid and my lower lash line for a simple, but pretty, eyeshadow look.

I have been taking a very hands-off approach to body exfoliation lately, so this arrived at a good time. It smells great, and it has good exfoliating grit without being too harsh. Once again, I couldn't find this for sale online, which is a bummer if you really liked it.

My hair needs a ton of moisture from my shampoo and conditioner, and so this set was a bit too lightweight for my curly hair needs. I like that it came with both the shampoo and conditioner, though, so you get an idea if this hair care line will work for you.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $13

Value Breakdown: This month everything in my Glam Bag added up to $58.26. Alternatively, it breaks down to paying $2.60 per item, not including the actual bag.

Key Takeaways

I thought this month's bag from Ipsy was quite nice! While the shampoo and conditioner were a miss for me, I love that we received a BB cream, eyeshadow stick, and lip mask that can be used together for a cohesive minimalist makeup routine. It was frustrating that two of the products couldn't be found on line.  At $13, this is a tough subscription to beat - especially when every month you get to choose one of the items they send.
