Hey y'all! Remember when I purchased a pair of Kate Spade earrings a few months ago? Sadly, I lost one of them at 2 Silos Brewery last weekend. It's like sunglasses, right? So easy to lose or break, but I'm thankful I only spent $27 on them, and not hundreds or thousands of dollars. Now I'm back to the drawing board after breaking the first pair.

Or maybe I'll just continue to fill the void with my jewelry rentals!

Rocksbox is a jewelry styling and rental service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy whatever they love at a discounted price. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your ever-growing wishlist. Members can keep and wear the three pieces they receive for as long as they want, or they can switch out sets whenever they'd like. Rocksbox also offers a monthly credit so you can buy the pieces for less.

Concerned about cleanliness? Each piece is sterilized with alcohol jewelry cleaner using medical grade products and handled with jewelry experts wearing gloves.

This is a review of the monthly plan for $21, which includes shipping to the US only.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Just like other subscription boxes, when I signed up for Rocksbox I had to set up a style profile that asked me questions like my metal preference, and which necklace, earring, bracelet, and ring styles I liked the most.

Let's check out this month's delivery!

What I Received

Cocoacentric Seset Transparent Dangles - Retail Value $80, Member Price $80

About this item: I'm a huge fan of Cocoacentric jewelry, and these chain-link dangles with clear links and gold-plated connectors are sophisticated and sexy. Crafted in resin and brass with an 18k gold base, this eye-catching jewelry is lightweight and measures at 3.15" long.

Condition: Like new.

Review: Really fun, unique, and lightweight. Maybe not worth $80, but definitely worth renting!

Kendra Scott Colette Hoop Earrings - Retail Price $70, Member Price $70

About this item: Still on my hoops kick, these timeless Kendra Scott earrings are crafted in shiny 14k gold plating over brass. Lightweight and universally flattering, they measure at 1.26" in diameter and while they won't weigh you down, they will elevate your style!

Condition: Brand new with tags.

Review: I love receiving brand new pieces! I wore these lightweight earrings so often; I think I started to turn the gold-plated finish into silver.

Machete Midi Square Tokyo Checker Hoops - Retail Value $45, Member Price $45

About this item: Crafted in sturdy acetate, these neutral-hued, handmade square hoops in a Tokyo Checker pattern make a stylish statement. Featuring a surgical steel post with signature backings, they're lightweight, versatile and measure at approximately 1.5" in diameter.

Condition: Like new.

Review: Very cool and funky set, but I don't think I wore them at all.

The Verdict

While the Machete Hoops seemed like a fun option that I'd get a lot of wear out of because of the versatile colors, I didn't wear them at all. But I wore the other two pairs so much, that it absolutely made up for it!

While I was on the site, I noticed this new (maybe to me) addition where you can take a picture of a piece of jewelry you love, and it'll search for a similar product.

Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21 per month. At retail, the three pieces would cost me $195. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing including the buy-all-three-items $10 discount, the $21 of Shine Credit (the membership fee for the month which goes towards your purchases), a 20% off summer savings discount, my Rose Gold Rewards discount of $9.75, a $5 shopping credit, the total price for the two remaining items goes down to $110.

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, help guide the Rocksbox stylists and add your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

If shopping were an Olympic sport, I’d be a gold medalist. And while my bank account often feels the crunch, I just can’t stop buying secondhand clothing and accessories, under-the-radar designer goods, stuffed animal unicorns (I have about 75), and toys for my pet bunny rabbit. After 20 years of city slicking in NYC and DC, I now have a car and love to tour the Virginia countryside looking for vintage shops, undiscovered wineries and breweries, historic sites, and Thai restaurants—I’m addicted to Thai food. I never leave home without a spare phone charger because I love horror movies and therefore have an irrational fear of being stranded somewhere with a dead battery.
