Add to Cart is a reader-interest series that breaks down products and launches in beauty and skincare from your wish list. Has something caught your eye and preoccupied your desires? What products are you curious to learn more about? Let us know what's living on your wish list in the comments - each month, we'll select, buy, and review one product to see if it lives up to the hype!

Welcome to another round of Add to Cart! Last month we visited a Sofia Richie-endorsed product and this month, well, I guess we are tackling the newest launch from Hailey Bieber's skincare line. Celebrity lines feel like they are a dime a dozen but there is sometimes some really great stuff to be discovered from Hollywood's it-girl crowd.

I have never tried anything from the Rhode line, but the recent launce of Glazing Milk (and the... uniquely milky photoshoot that arrived with it) was the talk of the office. I work with a bunch of very cool mid-20 somethings and they all had an alarm set on their phones to remind them to snag a bottle of this stuff on launch day. I too managed to buy my own right before it sold out. As someone who isn't even really a Hailey fan (I misspelled her name multiple times in this post and had to backtrack to correct the mistake) how would I feel about her skincare offerings?

The Product I Chose:

Rhode Skin Glazing Milk, 4.7 fl oz - $29

My Subscription Addiction paid for this product. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Packaging

I found myself really loving the minimal packaging chosen by Mrs. Bieber. The boxes are a matte white with grey text and the bottle itself is a light grey plastic (made with up-cycled post-consumer materials) that is understated and pretty, in a very minimal sort of way. I feel like I could convince Will to try this if I was willing to share it.

The Ingredients

Water (Aqua) (Eau), C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Coconut Alkanes, Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-3 Oleate, Polyglyceryl-10 Mono/Dioleate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Ceramide Np, Ceramide Ap, Ceramide Eop, Beta-Glucan, Copper Gluconate, Magnesium Aspartate, Oleic Acid, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Zinc Gluconate, Euterpe Oleracea Sterols, Phosphatidylglycerol, Phytosphingosine, Caprylyl Glycol, Cholesterol, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Pentylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Phytate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Benzoate, Chlorphenesin, Citric Acid.

KEY INGREDIENTS:

Hyaluronic Acid: You know it, you love it. It helps keep your skin moisturized!

Ceramides: Fatty acids naturally found in your skin cells that do a whole lot! They help to retain moisture, strengthen the skin's protective layer, and prevent moisture loss. They are also essential for healthy barrier function.

Beta-Glucan: This magical stuff has soothing, anti-inflammatory properties which make it ideal for sensitive or irritated skin. It also enhances the skin's natural moisture retention abilities, promoting hydration and improving overall skin texture all while boosting collagen production.

Copper Gluconate: This ingredient acts as an antioxidant, neutralizing harmful free radicals and protecting the skin from stress. Copper gluconate also plays a role in collagen production, boosting skin elasticity and firmness. It also possesses antimicrobial properties, helping to combat acne-causing bacteria and promoting a clearer complexion.

The Texture

This product genuinely resembles milk in both appearance and texture. It reminds me of whole milk due to its slightly heavier feel compared to skim. It's thicker than most essences and has a delightful essence-lotion hybrid texture. When you apply it, you'll experience a plush sensation that feels incredibly nice on the skin. I couldn't help but notice the Hailey Bieber-like radiant glow it imparted, which I have to admit looks much cuter on her than on me.

I felt a bit too shiny, but layering SPF on top helped to tone that down a little. As expected from a fragrance-free formula, there's no distinct scent. The real star quality of this product shines in the upcoming summer season—it works wonders as an incredibly lightweight moisturizer! Seriously, after applying a generous layer of this, I didn't even need to reach for my usual day cream.

My Takeaway

Ok, I hate to admit it, but I really liked this stuff. Like, do I need it? No. But I really liked the formula, the vibe, the whole thing. The cheap economic part of my brain also loves that you get a lot of product for $29. And since a little goes a long way, it will last you months and months. Well, unless you want to dump it all over your whole body for a photoshoot like Hailey.

I mean, you do you, babe.

Should You Buy Rhode Skin Glazing Milk?

This is a yes if:

  • You want a lightweight moisturizing essence for summer.
  • You want to add a ceramide boost to your skincare routine for better texture and long-term benefits.
  • You are a Hailey fan-girl who just wants to give her money (no shame here).
  • You appreciate a generous bottle size for your $$$.

Skip it if:

  • You already have a similar essence that is working for you.
  • You hate the idea of falling in love with a product that will likely sell out and be difficult to re-acquire.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Definitely not a Hailey fan-girl (I’m almost 40), but this is intriguing. Thanks for the review! Always love these Add-to-cart posts. 🙂
