Cat Lady Box is a monthly subscription box for cat ladies (or anyone who is crazy about cats)! The $34.99 per month Cat Lady Box has 2-3 cat-themed items – wearables, items for the home, books, etc., while the $39.99 per month Crazy Cat Lady Box contains everything from the Cat Lady Box plus a few items just for cats.

This is a review of the Crazy Cat Lady Box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

As soon as the box arrives, you know your cat-loving heart is in for a good time. Everything arrives in a brown cardboard box with a black cat silhouette on it. Once you open it up, you can expect to find anything from cat-themed jewelry, clothes, home decor, and more. If you subscribe to the Crazy Cat Lady box, you'll also get a few treats for your furbaby, too.

This box does come with an info sheet, and each month they feature custom artwork. This month's artist was Elina Parhomenko.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside This Crazy Cat Lady Box

First, let's meet the cat that will be helping me to review this box. If you've been reading my MSA reviews for a while, you may remember my old cat, Duchess. Duchess is no longer here with me, and after a few months, I felt ready to get another cat companion. Meet Sir Goose! I adopted him when he was one month and twenty-two days old, and he was 2.2 pounds. Now he is two years old and he loves toys—I have yet to find a toy he won't play with.

Goose turned two at the beginning of this month, and he weighs in at fourteen pounds! He's not overweight though, per his vet- he is just a proportionally big boy.

Feral & Fabulous Tee - Retail Value $22.99

You can expect a wearable of some kind in every Crazy Cat Lady Box, and I honestly love these tees- they're cut long in the torso for a comfortable fit, and they're cozy enough to wear as pjs or to lounge or exercise in. Purple is my favorite color, and I love the crown and tutu on the cute black cat on the front of this tee. It has a fun amount of sass!

Hisses Get Kisses Box Sign - Listed Value $13.99

This subscription box sends a good mix of practical items and home decor items. This "hisses get kisses" box sign is right on the mark for this month's theme, but isn't to my personal taste. Most of my cat-themed items (other than the millions of cat toys scattered across my apartment) are in my kitchen (like the oven mitts and glasses that have come in previous months), but counter space is a premium in my small apartment. I think there are plenty of people who will have a great spot to put this sign though- it's not too bulky or large so it would fit right in in a cat-themed area.

Peeking Cats Canvas Bin - Listed Value $17.99

This canvas bin was something I was able to put to use right away- it's a great size for storing subscription box products as I unbox them and have them in one spot as I test them out! This is also a good size to store some of Goose's cat toys if I wanted to spread them between rooms (they're currently in one big open box in the living room, mostly because I think it's adorable when Goose goes over to it to pick out a toy). The pretty colors of this foliage feline bin is fun, too- if you look closely you can see that the featured cats have notched ears, which is a common indicator that a cat (particularly unhomed outside cats) have been spayed or neutered to help control the kitty population.

Slithery Snake Catnip Toy - Listed Value $4.99

I am a big fan of this slithery snake toy- it's a long boy, which makes it pretty unique to most of the toys we receive in this sub. Goose just wasn't feeling very photogenic with it when I was trying to catch him playing with it. I know he is playing with it, because I can no longer find it anywhere which means it probably is in his lair under the bed or another similar hiding spot- sometimes he just chooses to play in private.

Bashful Bandit Raccoon Catnip Toy - Listed Value $4.99

This raccoon toy is so adorable- look at its cute face and fluffy tail! It reminds me of the raccoon from Pocahontas. Goose, unfortunately, is uncultured in the world of Disney movies, and he thinks this bashful bandit also belongs under the bed.

While he didn't feel like posing with the toys this month, he did enjoy sitting on top of the box our subscription box came in. It made him feel tall and helped get a better view of what I was photographing for other boxes.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $39.99 per month + free US shipping.

  • Box Sign: $13.99

Key Takeaways

Cat Lady Box is a subscription box you can count on to send you kitty-themed items that will actually be practical. While the decor items will not always be a home run for every single subscriber, I think they do a good job of appealing to the masses (the masses that would subscribe to a subscription box called "crazy cat lady box," that is. Dog-only lovers need not apply). I thought April was a solid month for us, and that canvas bin has been getting serious use since the moment I pulled it out of the box. If you have cats and/or like cat-themed things, I recommend checking this subscription box out. If you're looking for fun cat-themed items you can enjoy around your home and share with your feline friend, you're going to see a lot more value in this box than someone who is going strictly off of listed values (or who desires brand name products in a box).

Other Things You Should Know

Where does the Cat Lady Box ship to? The US (free to the lower 48, an additional fee for Alaska or Hawaii), the UK, and Canada.

Do I have to have a cat to enjoy this subscription? Nope! If you love cats but don't have one of your own, that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the fun- you can subscribe to the Cat Lady Box, which will come with the same products as the Crazy Cat Lady Box sans the cat toys.

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No. Sign up before the end of May to receive the June box.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
