IPSY Glam Bag Plus is a $28 per month subscription box from IPSY. Every month you’ll receive five full-sized beauty products. The box will have a retail value of at least $120. (This box was voted as one of the best makeup subscription boxes and best beauty subscription boxes by MSA readers!)

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).

First Impressions

As always, my goodies arrived in the pink IPSY bubble mailer and a drawstring bag. The design this month is from September 2021, which is... quite old. With the new news of Boxycharm and Ipsy merging/changing their subscription models (more news on that here), I wonder if there is some confusion in the fulfillment center.

I did not receive an info card this month.

Now, on to the items!

Beauty Bakerie Do It For The Graham Eyeshadow Palette - Retail Value $38

Okay, sure this is a brand that has made frequent appearances in Boxycharm and Ipsy lately, but I can't help but love it. The eyeshadow palettes are always packed with wearable colors and smooth, pigmented formulas. This one is no exception! The color story here is a mix of bold warms, everyday neutrals, and a few surprises. This one is going in my stash long-term.

MUDMASKY Pearl Polish Superglow Pink Clay Mask, 60 mL- Retail Value $58

I generally find clay masks rather drying, so I prefer to use them more as spot or small-area treatments. A great example is my jawline due to that once-a-month special time that sends it into a weird hormonal fit. As this formula is designed especially for sensitive skin, I think it does a great job targeting and minimizing my red spots without drying me out. It has a few different types of clay inside as well as green tea, collagen, and other soothing treats. It is also pink which is always a plus in my book.

Refreshments Velvety Body Cream in 'Ginger Splash', 8 fl oz - Retail Value $46

So I also received an unscented version of this in my February Boxycharm Premium and while I do like the light gingery scent here, I am still just not on board with Refreshments coming in my subscription boxes. This is fine enough for a body cream, but I think this item's spot would have been better suited to something else.

MOTD Blush Duo in 'Pink Lace', 5 g - Retail Value $20

This blush is talc-free and features a clever design that actually makes it a 3-in-1 option for your makeup bag. The center circle is a matte peachy pink and the other ring is a shimmering rose. You can wear them independently or mix them for a custom shade. Pigment levels here were a little finicky, but I find that talc-free blushes often need a little extra push if you want a lot of payoff.

Dr. Brandt Hydrating Essence, 100 mL

I couldn't find this formula currently for sale anywhere online so I am not sure if it was discontinued or what. What I can tell you is that it was a nice essence from a brand I already know and trust, so I gave it a go as an in-between skincare steps layer. It has different antioxidants and moisturizers that make my skin feel refreshed and soft without adding any extra weight to my AM routine. It is also pretty delightful if you store it in the fridge!

Verdict

This month's IPSY Glam Bag Plus was a little bit of a mess in terms of the bag but I am guessing there are some big moves happening behind the scenes with the Boxycharm merger. That curation of this month's bag was pretty much fine, though aside from the eyeshadow palette nothing really excited me all that much. I am hoping that the new collab brings a little more excitement in the months to come, especially with all the hype. I am still a little confused about if the March delivery will be in this older format or if it will be the new "Boxycharm". You can find more info as we get it here.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You'll likely start with March as your first month.

Cost Breakdown: This box costs $28, meaning each of the 5 items has an average cost of $5.60.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

According to the ipsy website, their 8oz velvety body cream retails for $14, not $46.

Odd that they messed up your bag when they know you’re an influencer. Mine came in the pink swirly design they had advertised and with the info card. I agree with you that stuffing GBP with the Refreshments house brand is awful. I also received the Dr. Brandt and I enjoy it. Overall, I’m glad the drawstring bag is going away. It wasn’t large enough to be useful in daily life.
