Fortune Cookie Soap Box is a monthly subscription for $19.95 ($16.95 for those who subscribed before 11/13/22). Included in the subscription, is a $10 off $25 coupon code.

Each box contains 1 full and 3 deluxe sized items. Quarterly, though, they give 6 items. This was a quarterly box.

This box was paid for by the author. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

This month's theme is: "Once Upon A Dream" based on the Sleeping Beauty fairytale.

Dream On!

Sleeping Spell Sleep Oil - Retail Value: $12.99

I can’t think of a more appropriate item to put in a Sleeping Beauty themed box, than an oil that helps you fall asleep! Truly brilliant. Plus, it smells amazing.

According to Fortune Cookie Soap, FCS, for short, the scent is:

“...comforting lavender, bergamot and sleepy chamomile that effortlessly blends with peppermint and clove….”

I followed the directions and rubbed the oil on the inside of my wrists, then onto my neck. After a few minutes, I genuinely did feel more relaxed. I’ll definitely be using it again.

Make It Pink! Make It Blue! Fortune Cookie Soap - Retail Value: $4.25

This box is the quarterly box, which always includes a fortune cookie shaped soap. This fortune cookie soap is a translucent pink with a hint of shimmer. It’s really lovely but it’s the smell that is truly memorable.

According to the FCS, the scent is

“...apricot, pear and melon over smooth vanilla.”

Briar Rose Wax Tart - Retail Value: $1.99

What a pretty wax tart! It contains dried rose petals and is topped with a dusting of gold shimmer.

According to FCS, the scent has:

“...soft scents of bergamot, orange zest atop delicate petals of pink roses.”

I love this scent. They released it in the past, and I was lucky enough to buy a bottle of linen spray. FCS items are all limited edition, made in small batches, and the scents come and go. You never know if/when a scent will return, so if you find one you love, snap it up!

Mistress Of All Evil Body Milk - Retail Value $13.99

I love Fortune Cookie Soap’s whipped cream and body frosting, so this body milk is another great addition to my skincare arsenal. It’s much thinner than their whipped cream, so it absorbs very quickly, but still leaves skin feeling smooth. FCS recommends using it all over your body after showering, to lock in moisture.

I was excited to try it and it left my skin feeling soft and smelling wonderful. According to FCS, the scent is:

"...bursting purple pomegranates, sickly sweet marshmallow, twisted maplewood thorns and amber.

True Love’s First Kiss Leave- In Conditioner - Full Size Retail Value $10.99

Fortune Cookie Soap has a wide variety of body care items, but their hair items are becoming increasingly popular. This is a leave-in conditioner that contains Argan oil and leaves hair feeling shiny, detangled and smelling lovely!

According to FCS, the scent has:

"…bright notes of crisp apple and lemon with delicate rose petals and vanilla.”

Hedge Of Thorns Twinkle Tonic Toner - Retail Value $12.99

I get a lot of subscription boxes, so I get a lot of moisturizers and serums, but not a lot of toners so I’m always happy to receive one. I’m especially happy to get FCS’s Twinkle Tonic Toner. Not only does it come with a convenient spray top, it really does make my skin feel smooth and refreshed.

Besides using it as a facial toner, my bestie discovered that it works great to prevent ingrown hairs and irritation on freshly shaved skin. Plus it smells divine.

According to FCS, the scent is:

"...fresh clean scent of sea water, fresh air, sparkling citrus and soft woods….”

Once Upon A Dream Sticker - Retail Value $0.99

Every month, FCS makes around 4 stickers. They put one in each box they send out. The lovely sticker I received this month says, “I know you, I walked with you, once upon a dream” which is a reference to the Sleeping Beauty fairytale, on which this box is based.

To buy the full set of 4 different stickers, the cost is $3.99. All are designed by FCS and graphics and quotes are all worthy of a place in your sticker collection.

The Verdict

This was another great box from Fortune Cookie Soap! They always choose great themes and the items were very creative in their type as well as scent. I've been a subscriber for years and not once was I disappointed with a box. This month is no exception!

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you still sign up today? No, but if you want a box, sign up quickly because there is a waiting list. Once you’re on the waiting list, you’ll be contacted when there is a spot open, and you’ll be given 24 hours to claim your spot. However, all of these items shown above, and many, many more full-size items from the “Once Upon A Dream” collection are available for sale now.

Value Breakdown: The box costs $19.95 (including shipping), which means each of the 7 items (including the sticker) cost an average of about $2.85 each. Plus, with every box, you’ll be e-mailed a code for $10 off any order of $25 or more to be used on any items in their vast store. That makes this box an incredibly good deal.

L.A.T.

The full sized, expanded line of “Once Upon A Dream” is brilliant, and beautiful and so fragrant!!! Except for the detergent items and dangly scent things for the car, I bought the entire line over a couple of weeks.

The most unique scent is ” Hedge Of Thorns”, as it is a very green scent of springtime leaves and shrubs. Not really thorns. 🙂
It goes fantastically with ” Briar Rose”, which is my favorite as well.

We just got March’s box which is a theme of the skies, sun, moon, stars. The scent with the connection to the moon is fabulous. No large sizes are available yet, just the box samples ( and 1 full sized item).
Also, there is an Easter box available right now for around $80.00 with a discount for buying the boxed collection, which is beautiful and sweet too).
Next up is the ” Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” niche themed Easter tie in box. I bought 2 without knowing it would be Jessica and Roger Rabbit, but will probably like the scents and that’s what matters.

To be small- batch, there is ALWAYS something new, LOL. I almost have enough points in 3 months for a $200 free purchase. SOO addicting!!! This is my second, or maybe third, childhood. 🙂

Go to their site, pick a subscription box and you’ll be hooked too. Wait for the new fabulousness. The shop was sold about a year ago. I see more femininity and less childish themes, thus far. 🙂 Love the changes!!! 🙂
