This month is the ‘Spa Daze’ edition. Ooh, la-la, the spa! I’m very intrigued to see what kind of items have been included in this particular product curation. Perhaps this is more of a self-care-heavy box, which is very welcome on my end. Self-care is much-needed right about now, so let’s dive in and take a look.
Now, on to the items!
IZZY AND LIV Melanin Luxe Satin Kimono - Listed Value $45
This is a super cute kimono! It’s perfect for throwing on over my pajamas if I have to answer the door or step out to grab a package. The pattern is eye-catching, bright, and pretty, and the material has a lovely satin feel to it. I love the prominent teal color scheme within the design. My favorite thing about this kimono, though, is the fact that there is elastic around the wrists. I’m highly appreciative of this added touch. Most of the kimonos I’ve had in the past feature arms that are billowy and tend to fall into everything, never failing to frustrate me. With the added elastic, my old robe is now in the closet, and this kimono is what stays by my bedside so I can grab it at a moment’s notice. Subscribers could have received one of four styles: Rockin’ Her Afro Like It’s Golden, Soul Food Queen, Radiance Queen, or Melanin Art Beauty. I received, ‘Radiance Queen.’
IZZY AND LIV Hold It Down, Sis! Caboodle - Listed Value $26
I was just saying how much I needed a new makeup bag… The uses for this pouch are endless, but this is are my favorite kind of container when it comes to storing my makeup. The simple design makes it so easy to access whatever I need at any given moment. I’m really digging the print too; very cute. The size is incredibly generous, and you can fit a large amount of makeup in there. This is the perfect thing to take with you on a trip; you can fit enough makeup for multiple looks and whatnot. The highlight of this makeup bag are the little pockets on the lid, where you can store your makeup brushes, ensuring that they don’t fall in and get mixed up with everything else in there. I love that the size allows me to keep everything organized and in one place. Subscribers could have received one of four styles: She’s Zen, Cultured Queens, Abstract Afro Beauty, or Brown Skin Love. I received, ‘Abstract Afro Beauty.’
IZZY AND LIV All the Feels Ringer T-Shirt - Listed Value $35
I love this t-shirt. It’s giving me some classic 70s vibes. The ‘ringer’ style t-shirt is something I really enjoy, and I love the contrasting colors of the trim around the neck and arm holes. The design for this shirt features a girl’s face, and it’s huge; for me, I thought it was a bit much. Personally, I’d rather a smaller decal, but overall, I think this is a really nice shirt. It feels well made and has a nice fit to it. Plus, I really like the darker shade of the brick red along with the olive green accents. Darker colors tend to be much more versatile and more suited to my everyday wear, so I’m thrilled to add this to my wardrobe. This is a comfy, casual t-shirt with a retro design, and I like it a lot. Subscribers could have received one of two styles: Fly Afro Diva or Moonlight Goddess. I received, ‘Fly Afro Diva.’
IZZY AND LIV Keep It Clean Bubble Bath Gel, 400 ml - Listed Value $32
I’m not a fan of baths. Showers are my go-to, so I was at first a bit bummed when I saw this bubble bath gel. But then I realized… It’s not your typical bubble bath powder; it’s a gel. I ended up giving this a try in this shower, and I have to say, it worked quite well. Despite being sensitive to scents, I found the sweet vanilla scent to be quite pleasant and not overpowering. The gel does a nice job of cleansing the skin and doesn’t leave behind a film like some other shower gels do for me. It also leaves my skin feeling luxuriously moisturized for the rest of the day. And it’s a very generously sized bottle too. Subscribers could have received one of four styles: Luscious Coconut, Cool Citrus, Sweet Vanilla, or Gorgeous Grapefruit. I received, ‘Sweet Vanilla.’
IZZY AND LIV That Self-Care Glow! Luxe Facial Mask Set, 4-pc - Listed Value $25
I am a huge fan of sheet masks, so I was thrilled when I saw this four-pack in my box. The first thing that drew my attention was the cute packaging artwork. I really appreciate the range of masks here, from a hydrating and soothing aloe mask to a collagen restoration mask, a charcoal detoxifier mask, and a shea butter moisturizing mask. Each of these pack a powerful punch of ingredients. I applied one of the masks and let it sit for about fifteen minutes. After removing it, I was left with refreshed, nourished, glowing skin. The mask itself adheres very nicely to my face, which I appreciate. There’s nothing more annoying than when a sheet mask slides after every little movement. I have to say, this mask set goes very nicely with the theme of this box, ‘Spa Daze.’ These masks deliver a reminder for some well-needed self-care.
I thought this was a great month for the Brown Sugar Box! The highlight for me was the kimono. With the added feature of elastic around the wrists, this is my new favorite bedside robe. I like to consider myself a sheet mask connoisseur of sorts, and I was thrilled to see the four-pack of masks, which range from hydrating, to detoxifying and more. I’ve been needing a new makeup pouch, and in the spirit of efficient organization, I’ll be putting this item to work right away. Bonus points for the brush pockets! The t-shirt included in this month’s box is very much my style; although, I do wish the design were a bit smaller. I love the colors, and the quality feels great. Lastly, I thought the bubble bath gel was going to be a miss for me, but I’m glad I gave it a try. Because of the brilliant gel texture, this bubble bath works much the same as a typical shower gel, and it does a solid job of washing off the day’s grime. Overall, I thought this was a good box. The product curation was perfectly on point with the theme, ‘Spa Daze,’ and the value is certainly there.
