BoxyCharm is a $27.99 monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. They always provide a great value compared to the cost of the box and include 5-6 beauty items that include nail care, skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance, and more. (At least 4 of those items will be full-sized). If you are a makeup addict – we recommend this box!

Now, on to the items!

First Aid Beauty Cleansing Oil + Makeup Remover, 150 mL – Retail Value $26

I have been out and about more this year than last, and I have also been trying to wear mascara each day. It makes me look more awake and put together, but I hate removing it at night. This cleanser is like a magic eraser for makeup! I hop in the shower, apply a pump of it all over my face, and after a quick rinse, all the waterproof mascara and makeup is gone. My skin feels clean but not tight or dry, and just a little bit of this gets the job done!

Ace Beauté 'Ultimate Face Sculpt Palette, 30 mL - Retail Value $42

This is the sort of product I would have appreciated much more back when I was doing wedding makeup. I have retired from that line of work, but I imagine this quad would have been idea for contouring a wide range of skin tones. The cream formula is buildable and pigment rich, which also feeling light and very blendable. I will be passing this onto a friend still in the biz.

Dew of the Gods FEELS Microdermabrasion Face Scrub, 100 g– Retail Value $30

When it comes down to physical exfoliants vs chemical exfoliants, I tend to reach for BHA and AHAs. Sometimes a textured scrub can feel too aggressive or even damaging, which can cause redness and irritation. This formula from Dew of the Gods features some very fine silica crystals blended with oat milk, squalane, and aloe for a less aggressive exfoliation. The formula smells creamy with a hint of citrus and makes for a very nice shower scrub!

KOA LIFE Niacinamide Booster, 30 mL – Retail Value $35

Niacinamide has had a lot of hype over the last few years, and I am thrilled to see it popping up in so many formulas. What makes it so special? Well, it has the ability to add a very wide range of benefits to your skin, including fighting acne, calming redness, fading hyperpigmentation, and even helping soften fine lines. With such a wide variety of benefits, it is something you should absolutely add to your routine. This serum has a blend of niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and aloe that is perfect for boosing your routine.

Belle en Argent Tinted Lip Balm in 'At Hello Nude' - Retail Value $18

Why is this shade called nude? It is a sheer coral if anything. Aside from that confusion, this balm is ok. It smoothes my lips and adds a little color, but I wasn't wowed.

Verdict

This month's BoxyCharm delivered a total value of $151 which is a nice value for the cost of the box. And while none of the products grabbed my attention when I first opened it, I found myself absolutely loving the cleanser, scrub, and booster. This ended up being more of a skincare curation for me as I plan on passing along the quad sculpting palette and the lip balm was rather underwhelming. Still, I ended up pretty happy this month.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Thank you Megan! The boxycharm I loved is no more. It was all skin care in my box and I just want the makeup. They don’t listen to your quiz eithor. Not loving the bait and switch on advertising great product’s but on selection day none of those great products are part of your selection. your getting all crap items. I will give them maybe 3 months then I’m canceling. It’s not boxycharm anymore.
