First Impressions

This box doesn't come with an info sheet, but it does have a card with a QR code you can scan. The contents of the box are snuggly packaged. And it's always nice to see full-size products inside.

We also received these two foil samples: the Mixsoon Bean Essence and Bean Cream and the Skin1004 Moisturizing Serum.

BomiBox "Let It Slough" Box Review

Heimish All Clean Balm in Mandarin, 50 mL – Retail Value $7

The Heimish All Clean Balm is one of my favorite K-Beauty cleansing balms, so I was really excited to see this mandarin-infused balm inside our February box. Citrus can occasionally be irritating to my skin, but I didn’t have any issues- it was more of an aromatherapy benefit for me with the same balm to oil to milk cleansing experience of the original All Clean Balm. Receiving this was a treat, and I love how it can remove makeup and sunscreen without leaving residue behind.

Petitfee Purifying Clay Mask, 130 mL – Retail Value $20.30

I haven’t received a clay mask in a while, so I was ready to put this to use. This mask by Petitfee is made with Kaolin and Bentonite clay along with coconut shell powder, walnut shell powder, charcoal powder, salicylic acid, and tea tree extract- it really gets into your pores to purify and clean them out. This was a thicker mask that took a little effort to squeeze from the tube and spread out, but it wasn't exorbitantly difficult. It’s a potent mask that I would probably only use twice a month or so because I have dry and sensitive skin, but I knew I was due for a deep cleanse and I was happy with how this worked for me and anticipated the dryness that followed. If you have oily skin you’ll likely get even more use out of it- just make sure to follow up with some hydrating layers like a sheet mask and a moisturizer once you’re done masking!

SecretKey Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel, 120 mL – Retail Value $14

Peeling gels are a popular exfoliant in K-Beauty. To use, you apply the product to dry skin and massage it in for about thirty seconds. The product will “ball up,” and during that process, it exfoliates your skin. This has lemon water and lemon extract to aid the exfoliating, and Centella, aloe, and chamomile extracts to soothe any irritation. This isn’t my favorite way to exfoliate, but my skin was definitely smoother after using.

Etude My Beauty Tool Exfoliating Jellyfish Silicon Brush – Retail Value $7

Tools like this are never necessary, but they can make your skincare routine a lot more fun. This little jellyfish has a sponge inside to help your cleanser of choice foam and lather up, and it also gently exfoliates and massages your skin. If you don’t want to use it on your face, you could also use it to clean your makeup brushes and sponges!

Farmstay Aloe Vera Perfect Sun Cream, 70 g – Retail Value $8.80

This sunscreen is a combination mineral and chemical sunscreen, but I don’t think the chemical filter is one as commonly used in the US as it is in South Korea. Along with the filters, this has aloe vera, green tea, and centella asiatica, so it’s a great option for those with sensitive skin as long as the fragrance doesn’t bother you. The scent did fade with time, but it was more noticeable upon first application compared to other sunscreens.

Elizavecca Honey Deep Power Ringer Mask – Retail Value $3

I’ve used this mask line from Elizavecca before and I like them- the mask material is super thin so it hugs the contours of my face well, and it feels super soft against my skin. The mask is well-saturated with essence for a deeply hydrating experience, and my sensitive skin just felt more calm after I wore this honey-infused mask for 20 minutes.

Farmstay Citrus Yuja Vitalizing Mask Sheet – Retail Value $1.80

This sheet mask was really pleasant. The mask material was stretchy, so I was able to get it to apply to my face for a nice fit, and it was moist and well-saturated with essence without being so wet I had essence dripping down my neck. It had a citrus scent that I found really enjoyable, and my skin soaked up all of the moisture this mask had to offer.

Key Takeaways

I consistently enjoy my BomiBox subscription, and this month's box was a solid performer. I don't personally love peeling gels so that will get passed along to a friend, but the Heimish sunscreen and Petitfee mask are definitely pulling their weight this month. I thought it was fun that we received a beauty tool in the Etude cleansing jellyfish, and I really enjoyed both of the sheet masks. While the value may not look super high compared to the cost of the box, keep in mind that the values need to be taken with a grain of salt because I have to get the values from websites that ship directly from Korea and they can vary wildly. I've been reviewing Bomibox for years, and I definitely recommend this subscription if you're a fan of Korean skincare. If you're looking for a monthly beauty box comprised exclusively of K-Beauty products, BomiBox is one of the best out there.
