Everyone knows Sephora is a beauty store where you can find almost anything and everything related to makeup, skincare, body care, hair care, and self-care, but they also released curated sets under their Sephora Favorites brand. A few times a year you can count on them to release a new set curated around lip colors at a discounted price, and one of the newer sets they released is this Perfect Pout Lip Set.

FYI – this set is still available, while supplies last.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

This set comes with everything securely packaged inside a pink box edged with a snowflake border, with the products safely nestled inside and additional information printed on the back. Every Sephora purchase lets you use choose two free samples when you check out. When you make a purchase over $25 you're also eligible to add on a gift with purchase, so make sure you take a peek at their available codes!

The Breakdown – What’s Inside This Limited Edition Box From Sephora

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, 0.04 oz - Estimated Value $12.57 (buy the 0.07 oz version for $22)

The Black Honey almost lipstick has been around for a while and has amassed a popular following, and I get the hype. It's a pretty tinted balm that gives my lips a hint of plum color that is very "my lips but better" and I feel like this just enhances my lips without the commitment and fuss of a more full-coverage lipstick. It's nourishing, too, which my chronically dry lips desperately need.

Laneige Lip Treatment Balm, 0.07 oz - Estimated Value $5 (buy the .35 oz version for $25)

I was happily impressed with this lip treatment balm by Laneige- I think I like it more than their more popular berry lip sleeping mask. This is made with coconut oil and peptides and has a soft pearlescent finish. I didn't see peppermint oil on the ingredients list, but I could have swore that this had a slight tingle when I applied it that I did find to be pleasant. Maybe I'm crazy, or it was some weird placebo effect- has anyone else noticed something similar?

Nars Afterglow Lip Balm in Laguna, 0.03 oz - Estimated Value $8.40 (buy the 0.1 oz version for $28)

This shimmery bronze lip balm has a beautiful gold shimmer, and I love that this adds just a subtle touch of color but it's just enough to help me look and feel more put together. I really like the shimmer in this too- it's pretty without being an in-your-face sparkle.

Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happikiss Lipstick Balm in Pillowtalk, 0.08 oz - Retail Value $34

Full-size Charlotte Tilbury products always make me happy when they appear in a curated set, and I've been wanting to try this ever since they were launched last year. This is essentially a lipstick-lip balm hybrid, and she definitely has the pigmentation of a lipstick. It's infused with hyaluronic acid, and I feel like the pigment (described as the same nude-pink you've come to expect from the iconic Pillow Talk collection) has a touch more of a berry undertone than the Pillow Talk Matte Revolution lipstick.

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Kind Words Lip Liner in Fun, 0.014 oz - Retail Value $15

I have really been wanting to try these Rare Beauty liners ever since seeing the PR boxes influencers got sent when they first launched, so I was stoked this set included a full-size one. The shade Fun wasn't actually originally on my radar as a shade I wanted to try, but it's a great neutral shade. It's described as a neutral mauve, but I do think it has more orange undertones than the berry I would typically expect. The formula was creamy and easy to work with, and I love that the full-size is an affordable $15- I definitely see myself getting more in the future.

Here are the swatches- from top to bottom we have the lip liner, the Charlotte Tilbury, the Nars lip balm, and the Clinique.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $28

Cost Breakdown:

  • Clinique: $12.57
  • Laneige: $7
  • Nars: $8.40
  • Charlotte Tilbury: $34
  • Rare Beauty: $15

This set promises a $83 value, and my math adds up to $76.97.

Key Takeaways

I don't think anyone can deny that Sephora knows how to curate a good set, and this Perfect Pout Lip Set continued the trend. You're going to be set up for success when one of the products inside is full-size and retails for more than the cost of the entire set, and I am happy that along with the Charlotte Tilbury we also received the full-size Rare Beauty lip liner. The Laneige has become comfortable in my travel skincare bag (where I need to always have a good lip mask), and I've been alternating between the Charlotte Tilbury, Nars, and Clinique lip balms as my lip color of choice in the mornings before work this past week. If you can grab this kit and enjoy lip products, you're going to be happy here.

Seems it is no longer available, at least online through Sephora stores. Article heading is from late January.

“This set comes with everything securely packaged inside a pink box edged with a snowflake border, with the products safely nestled inside and additional information printed on the back.” So why does it look like it comes in a green bag? The pink box with a snowflake border sounds much more appealing. This is like false advertising. Please stop with the cut and paste!

Sorry Melissa- that was oversight on my part. The pink box with snowflakes was from Sephora’s Makeup Must-Haves set

Thanks for the reply, Jessica! I didn’t mean to be so harsh. I was having a bad day. I love your reviews!

Sara

I bought mine at the Sephora store and it was packaged in this green bag.

I ordered this earlier this week, and can hardly wait for its arrival. I’m all about tinted lip balms, and have probably 20+, from Cover Girl to Givenchy, so this set is right up my alley.
