First Impressions

This month's theme is called: "Once Upon A December" based on a song from the animated film, “Anastasia.”

Paris Holds The Key!

The Curse Soap Slime – Retail Value $13.99

Soap slime is one of my favorite items from Fortune Cookie Soap! I received it in a previous box and loved it so much that I bought a set of four minis. Soap slime feels great, smells great and is just plain fun. Have a child who hates bath time? Soap Slime is the answer!

According to Fortune Cookie Soap (FCS for short), the scent is:

“Dark woods and oud drag you into the depths of purgatory, crawling with strawberries and black currant while salty sea air whips around jasmine and sensual amber….”

Key To Your Heart Shampoo Bar – Retail Value $9.99

This mini version of Fortune Cookie Soap’s famous shampoo bar isn’t just pretty, it smells incredible. These shampoo bars are perfect if you travel a lot. I usually try each item in the boxes I receive, but my bestie is such a huge fan of FCS’s shampoo bars, that I saved it for her. She says that the shampoo bar leaves her hair so clean and shiny that she doesn't even use conditioner. However, if you have dry hair, FCS does offer a conditioning bar as well.

According to the FCS, the scent is:

"...warm musk, fragrant roses and fresh apricots, pink pepper, light incense and vanilla cedarwood.”

Perfect Beginning Bath & Body Oil – Retail Value: $9.99

This bath & body oil is the full size item in this month’s box. It’s beautifully scented and feels luxurious in your bath. You can also apply it directly to your body for extra moisture. I really like rubbing it onto my legs after shaving. The bottle is so pretty, I’ve decided to keep it out on my vanity.

According to FCS, the scent is:

“Warm musk and pink guava dance with fresh lotus petals, mandarin orange and tuberose blossoms.Subtle notes of sweet pear, tart fruit and musky fig dance around crisp ozone, driftwood and salty ocean air.”

Together In Paris Perfume Oil - Retail Value: $10.99

This lovely smelling perfume oil is applied with a roller-ball. That makes it perfect for traveling; whether in your suitcase or purse. I always keep one in my purse just in case I forget to spray some perfume on in the morning. I’m so happy to say that in the past several years that I’ve done this, it’s never leaked!

According to FCS, the scent is:

"A bright bubbly champagne enchanted with ripe black raspberries, plum and warm vanilla.”

Journey To the Past - Tealight Candle

There’s typically four items in a regular month’s box (and six in the quarterly box) but this month there was a fifth item. This little tealight, while small, throws a great amount of scent. If you like it, there are full size candles available on FCS’s site.

According to FCS, the scent is:

"Juicy pomegranate, anise and freshly picked blackberries blend together with soft dewberry and iris petals on a snowy trail of vanilla, sandalwood, and dark musk.”

Heart Don’t Fail Me Now Sticker - Retail Value $0.99

Every month, FCS makes around 4 stickers. They put one in each box they send out. The sticker I received this month says, “Heart Don’t Fail Me Now; Courage Don’t Desert Me” which is a reference to the movie, Anastasia, on which this box is based.

To buy the full set of 4 different stickers, the cost is $3.99. All are designed by FCS and graphics and quotes are all worthy of a place in your sticker collection.

The Verdict

This was another great box from Fortune Cookie Soap! The theme is such a great one and the items were thoughtfully made and named. I’ve been a subscriber for years and not once was I disappointed with a box. This month is no exception!

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you still sign up today? No, but if you want a box, sign up quickly because there is a waiting list. Once you’re on the waiting list, you’ll be contacted when there is a spot open, and you’ll be given 24 hours to claim your spot. However, all of these items shown above, and many, many more full-size items from the “Once Upon A December” collection are available for sale now on the Fortune Cookie Soap website.

Value Breakdown: The box costs $19.95 (including shipping), which means each of the 6 items (including the sticker) cost an average of about $3.32 each. Plus, with every box, you’ll be e-mailed a code for $10 off any order of $25 or more to be used on any items in their vast store. That makes this box an incredibly good deal.
