Cat Lady Box is a monthly subscription box for cat ladies (or anyone who is crazy about cats)! The $34.99 per month Cat Lady Box has 2-3 cat-themed items – wearables, items for the home, books, etc., while the $39.99 per month Crazy Cat Lady Box contains everything from the Cat Lady Box plus a few items just for cats.

This is a review of the Crazy Cat Lady Box.

First Impressions

As soon as the box arrives, you know your cat-loving heart is in for a good time. Everything arrives in a brown cardboard box with a black cat silhouette on it. Once you open it up, you can expect to find anything from cat-themed jewelry, clothes, home decor, and more. If you subscribe to the Crazy Cat Lady box, you'll also get a few treats for your furbaby, too.

This box does come with an info sheet, and each month they feature custom artwork. This month's artist was Natsa.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The December Crazy Cat Lady Box

First, let's meet the cat that will be helping me to review this box. If you've been reading my MSA reviews for a while, you may remember my old cat, Duchess. Duchess is no longer here with me, and after a few months, I felt ready to get another cat companion. Meet Sir Goose! I adopted him when he was one month and twenty-two days old, and he was 2.2 pounds. Now he is a year old and he loves toys—I have yet to find a toy he won't play with.

Goose turns two in April, and he weighs in at thirteen pounds! He's not overweight though, per his vet- he is just a proportionally big boy.

“I See a Cat” Shirt - Retail Value $22.99

I adore the deep teal color of this shirt, and as someone who has definitely stopped what I was doing when I saw a cat out of the corner of my eye, I found humor in the saying printed in yellow lettering. The shirt has a longer cut in the torso which I find to be very comfortable, and I've been enjoying wearing it.

Retro Cat Wine Glasses - Retail Value $22.99

These retro cat stemless wine glasses are so fun- they feature black cats with gold accents. I don't have any real "set" of wine glasses in my apartment so I was happy to add these to my cabinet. They feel sturdy in my hand, but unfortunately they weren't thick enough to withstand a hard knock when one was bumped into by the heavy pan I was holding (that was on me and my clumsiness, oops).

Knit Cat Beanie Hat - Retail Value $19.99

I basically never wear hats, but I thought this cat knit beanie with its maroon colors and cute cat ears at the top was absolutely charming. When my hair is in its full, curly glory it makes my head too big for this beanie, but I had luck wearing this when I had my hair in pigtail braids and it was chilly out.

Meowy & Bright Ornament Catnip Toy - Retail Value $4.99

There are some toys that Goose likes to aggressively play with, and there are some toys Goose likes to sniff and lick. This pink ornament-shaped toy was definitely a sniff-and-lick kind of toy for him, but he still seemed to enjoy it.

He looked mighty handsome while investigating it, too.

Dangling Diamond Catnip Toy - Listed Value $5.99

This toy, on the other hand, was one Goose wanted to aggressively play with. He didn't even wait for me to take the tag off or untie the rope that the diamond dangles from!

Granted, the diamond does have a feather attached at the end and Goose loves feathers, so as soon as I saw this in the box I knew it would be a winner.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $39.99 per month + free US shipping.

Value Breakdown:

  • Shirt: $22.99
  • Wine Glasses: $22.99
  • Beanie: $19.99
  • Ornament Toy: $4.99
  • Diamond Dangle  Toy: $5.99

Everything in this box is bespoke to the subscription, so I have to go by listed values (though some of the products are available for sale in the Cat Lady shop!). The values add up to $76.95.

Key Takeaways

I love my Cat Lady Box Subscription, and I thought the December box was another winner. I love the color of the shirt, the beanie was cute and fun, and the wine glasses are practical with unique designs. Goose enjoyed both cat toys, too. If you have cats and/or like cat-themed things, I recommend checking this subscription box out. If you're looking for fun cat-themed items you can enjoy around your home and share with your feline friend, you're going to see a lot more value in this box than someone who is going strictly off of listed values (or who desires brand name products in a box).

Other Things You Should Know

Where does the Cat Lady Box ship to? The US (free to the lower 48, an additional fee for Alaska or Hawaii), the UK, and Canada.

Do I have to have a cat to enjoy this subscription? Nope! If you love cats but don't have one of your own, that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the fun- you can subscribe to the Cat Lady Box, which will come with the same products as the Crazy Cat Lady Box sans the cat toys.

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, sign up before the end of January to receive the February box.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
