First Impressions

Boxycharm always arrives with a cute card detailing all of the products inside and listed retail values.

Now, on to the items!

Wander Beauty Suite Escape Eyeshadow Palette – Retail Value $42

Who wouldn't want to be lounging in some ultra-luxe hotel suite right now? Well, if you are like me, and you aren't going anywhere, anytime soon, this palette is the perfect mental jet set. All 10 shades are travel-inspired and would work as well on the beach as they would at the ski lodge. The formulas are smooth and beautiful, leaving a great about of pigment with a velvet finish. I especially loved the 'Suite Dreams' shade, a beautiful wash of pink with an iridescent purple flash.

Elemis Rehydrating Ginseng Toner, 200 mL - Retail Value $37

This refreshing toner smells so good! Like most Elemis products, the fragrance is on the strong side, but I find this one natural and invigorating. I like to use toners between skincare steps because I use less product if my face is a little damp. A few mists of this is perfect for that or even just a random pick-me-up. This is absolutely one of those toners you could stash in the fridge to cool down. The ingredients are pretty simple too, with the standouts being glycerine, ginseng, and sweet betty flower.

Persona E-Balm in 'Manifest', 3.2 g – Retail Value $22

I love an easy, sheer lip and this balm certainly fits the bill. The shade I received is a classic red but made a little less formal by the sheer and buildable finish. This is the sort of balm that feels great on your lips and is easy to apply on the go and without a mirror, with no worries. I feel like the price is a little bit high for the product, but, hey, that's what makes getting it in a subscription even better!

LOVE+CRAFT+BEAUTY Beauty Plasma Gloss in 'Quasar Goo', 2.5 g – Retail Value $18

While I love a multi-use product like this, warm copper shades like this are hard for me to pull off. This gloss can be used on your lips, lids, cheeks, and, anywhere else you want a shimmering splash of color. I think if you have a warmer skin tone this could make a really good cream bronzer, especially if you apply it with a sponge. For me? I have to reserve this for my lids only or make it a re-gift.

F.A.R.A.H. 18hr Liquid Eyeliner - Listed Value $18

Another day, another black eyeliner. I was initially impressed with this one. The felt-tip is fabulous and this stuff literally doesn't budge. The bad news? It stains. It leaves behind a green sheer tint that I certainly don't want anywhere near my eyelids. Pretty glad I did a hand swatch here.

Verdict

This month's BoxyCharm had a strong start. The eyeshadow palette is beyond lovely and I really liked the toner too. The red balm is a great fit for my makeup vibes and I even thought the multi-use goo was great, although the shade is not ideal for me. I will be regifting it and throwing that staining eyeliner in the garbage. I really did like this box quite a lot, even with the misses.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I subscribed to boxycharm for quite a while. Sometimes I miss it like when I see a product from Elemis but then when I see that awful eyeliner I’m ok! They ask what you’d like and I don’t recall ever getting anything other than black and mostly magic marker things like this.I said I use color eyeliner. Another red lipstick, another palate. I’m still using things I received and I’ve purchased things I’ve loved. Disappointed again. Still waiting for the box that gives you things truly curated. Thank you for your honest review.
