BREO BOX is a men's and women's lifestyle subscription box that costs $159 per quarter and has a focus on the latest tech, home goods, and health & fitness items.

Ships to: The continental U.S. for free ($30 to HI, AK, and U.S. territories), Canada for $35 ($90 for remote territories), and worldwide at varying rates.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is my first time reviewing the BREO BOX and I'm pretty excited to be doing so. It's always been a highly rated box from our readers and looking at past boxes and reviews, it seemed BREO BOX finds some pretty great gadgets to add to their seasonal shipments. This season's box was all about staying warm and cozy during the colder months and their product choices definitely mirrored this theme. There are five products included in the Winter 2022 shipment for a value of $240. What I love in particular about Breo Box is the fact that even if you can't or won't use an item yourself, they usually make the perfect little gifts to give to friends and family....especially with the holidays right around the corner!

First Impressions

The products come neatly packed in a dust bag with a QR code that you can scan which opens up to the product catalog. Each season they will send you 4-6 items and as I mentioned above, the Winter 2022 box has a total of 5 products. Since the BREO Box sends quite a few items (which is awesome!) I'm going to break this review up into two sections. The products I loved and the products that I didn't.

Ok, so let's get to the box!

BREO Box Products I Loved

Empower 3 Speed Massager — Retail Value $49.99

The Empower 3 speed massager was a welcome sight in this box for me. I recently signed up for a free trial of CrossFit, and well, let's just say it has kicked my butt. The Empower massager brought a lot of relief to my upper back and between my shoulders. It has a rubber outside and includes 3 vibration settings. Included was also a USB charger, which took approximately 2 hours to charge up the first time.

The massager itself is a little bigger than a baseball and fits nicely in my hand. I will say that this might be difficult to use if it's just yourself. I personally did not have a problem reaching around and rolling it on my back, however, I have a pretty long reach. I let my husband try and he actually was unable to use it on himself and needed me to do it for him. Of course, this was just his back area, but usually that is the area most people like to focus on.

Overall though, I loved this product and thought it was a great addition. The quality is great and it gets the job done.

Aimor 7-Inch Digital Photo Frame — Retail Value $69.99

Honestly, anything regarding pictures and I'm an immediate fan. I was curious, though, as to how this frame was going to be any different from others. Digital frames came out awhile ago, so I knew there had to be something a bit different about this one. And in fact there was! The AiMOR digital frame allows friends and family to send you photos that will pop up on your screen. And while I also know that this technology has been around for a little bit as well, it's definitely a newer option to the beloved digital photo frame.

I love the fact that your friends and family can download the AiMOR app and using your unique code, upload photos that will be sent directly to your picture frame from anywhere in the world. This is actually huge for us. My husband is an airline pilot and travels, well, all the time. We do our best, but sometimes it's hard to feel connected when he is 8,000 miles away. Knowing that he can take a silly photo of himself to send to the kids or take a great photo of a big iconic spot is great. And sure, he could always just send it to my phone, but there is something really fun about the kids running in and checking out the frame to see if he sent anything new.

The only thing I didn't love was that the photos don't come in as clear as I would have hoped, and ours has a slight blueish tint to them, but it's been a fun way to stay connected, nevertheless!

Menna One Portable Tea & Beverage Infuser — Retail Value $69.99

I was really excited to see the Portable Tea Infuser because my husband is a huge tea drinker, so I'm always looking for tea accessories that are different and unique. As I mentioned above, he also travels, so this was the perfect product for him to be able to throw in his bag and head out.

When first trying to disassemble this, I was a little confused on how to do so. It seemed like there were quite a few sections and areas I had to twist in order to get this thing apart. However, a handy scannable sticker on the infuser takes you to a great video on YouTube that explains how to disassemble to add the tea and then reassemble to steep it. You only need to do it once before you realize it's actually quite simple.

Basically, you add the loose tea to the center of the infuser and then twist to lock that section. You then add the hot water to the main section and then attach both parts together. When you are ready to steep, you twist the same section you did to lock the tea in and the water mixes with the loose tea (sounds confusing, I promise...it's not!). You can see in the pictures below what the steeper section looks like when it's "locked" and then when it's "unlocked" so that the tea can steep. When you are ready to drink it, you simply twist it back to stop the steeping.

They also send a steeping tips card that goes over the different types of tea and how long you should steep each one.

Pale Blue Rechargeable Batteries — Retail Value $29.99 (4-pack)

Batteries are expensive. And so many things these days require them. We've actually tried rechargeable batteries in the past, but the recharging unit was bulky and annoying to use. And guess what?...yep, we didn't actually end up recharging them. So, I was really curious when I saw these USB rechargeable batteries in this season's BREO Box. They sent two double A-batteries with a travel case and a dual USB cord so that you can charge both batteries at the same time.

The case says it is a 54 minute recharging time which, believe it or not, was an overestimate for ours. The first time we charged it up they actually only took about 40 minutes until they were both fully charged. We have used them for a week in our TV remote controls, and so far so good! I love that when I need to replace them, I can just pop them into their USB plug and have them ready to go in less than an hour. We have not needed to charge them again, so the only I can't attest to is how long each charge lasts.

BREO Box Products I Didn't Love

Ok, so for the most part I loved the majority of items sent in the Winter 2022 BREO Box. However, these next two didn't quite do it for me. Having said that, I received both of these for the purpose of this review, but customers will actually only receive one of these and it is totally random. The only exception to this is if you have already received the coffee cookie, then you will be given the Smartek Clothes Shaver. Ironically, both of these items are the two that made my "didn't love" list, but that's great news for subscribers because technically that means there is only one product in the box that didn't hit the mark for me (and it might be a must-have for other subscribers).

Smartek Fabric Clothes Shaver — Retail Value $19 (Deluxe version)

This one was so close to making my "love" list, but unfortunately I just couldn't quite put it there. Did it work? Yes. Did it work great? Eh. The idea is awesome and it did remove some lint and pilling, but it also left quite a bit. And the bits it did remove took me a lot of time and passing back over areas to get it.

I've actually always used an old razor to get rid of the little pills that accumulate on sweaters, so this clothes shaver is definitely a lot safer, but if you have a sweater that is really hurting, this isn't going to give it a full-blown makeover. After every couple of minutes, I also had to clean it out as it would stop working which was a bit of a pain. Perhaps I'm just really hard on sweaters and this product would be great for someone that doesn't wear theirs as much as I do, but it was (just barely) a miss for me.

Coffee Cookie — Retail Value $19

**This product has actually been sent in previous boxes, however, if you have already received the coffee cookie, you will actually be sent the Smartek Fabric Clothes Shaver (which you can read about above).

In all honesty, this is the one item I received that I probably won't use. Again...another great idea, however it missed the mark a little bit for me. The description of this on the BREO Box website said it should "snap" in to most to-go coffee cups. I couldn't find a single one that it actually snapped into.

The other option is to just set it on top, however, it's a bit small and I can be quite clumsy at times. Usually when I'm drinking coffee it's when I first wake up and am still groggy or have hit my afternoon slump (times when I'm clumsier than normal!) The Coffee Cookie just doesn't lend itself to a tired mom being able to throw down her cup quickly. I will accidentally miss the mark on this and spill my coffee everywhere. Had it been more of coaster size that was just meant for a table rather than a portable one, I think this would have been a huge hit for me. Cold coffee has become the norm most days for me when I'm trying to get my kids out the door for school, so something bigger that I can set it on (fully) is more of a product that I need and could use.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

Absolutely! The majority of products were high-end and worked as advertised. The only ones I wasn't a huge fan of were the smaller and least expensive options in the box. So, even if you eliminate those items, price-wise, you are still getting a huge bang for your buck! Plus with the holidays here, this would make a fantastic gift for someone in your life that loves all of these great gadgets.

The Cost: $159 per quarter + free shipping to the contiguous US.

Value Breakdown: The total value of the box is $240 despite only costing $159. That's an $80 savings!

In a nutshell? I'm a bit of a walking contradiction!

I love traveling the world and stepping out of my comfort zone, but I can also be a complete introvert and will be totally happy hanging out at home with my family for days on end. I enjoy working out and going for runs or HIIT classes at the gym, but I also have no problem binging on a bag of cheetos and a glass of wine (which pairs surprisingly well together!). I love how I look dressed up and ready to hit the town, but am much more comfortable in a pair of sweats while watching The Mandolorian with my husband and two little boys. I love trying exotic foods and the different spices and textures that come with it, but my all-time-favorite meal is a juicy cheeseburger with fries.

So, maybe I should just call myself well-rounded!? Whatever it is, I keep an open mind about everything and am always on the hunt for a new and exciting adventure!

I am actually quite disappointed in this box. The tea steeper is nowhere near $70 in value and they have sent a tea steeper very similar to this in a previous box. The massager is overpriced too and would be more useful if it was one of the gun type massagers. Nothing seems cutting edge or even that interesting in this box. There also seem to be a lot of repeat items which for long term customers is not ideal. I was hoping for that new remote meat thermometer or something else interesting. I always love the kitchen items like the defrost tray which I use all the time. I have already paid for my box for this quarter so i am stuck with these items and I think their customer service is outstanding, but I I have cut down on sub boxes with BREO being 1 of 3 I have kept, but it will be going now.

I was extremely disappointed with this box. I don’t drink tea so that is one item I will gift. The fabric shaver comes in so many of my boxes. Another item. I will gift. A massage ball come on Breo. I have been a member for years but I think this is the box that will finally make me cancel. Hugely disappointed
